Hi Bernhard, thanks for the tip! That’s actually a good one, been able to buy some nice products at discount last Christmas Holidays. Do you buy other products than booster boxes or ETB’s?
There was a time when I bought everything with potential......and then I ran out of storage space. Since then I have mainly bought booster boxes and ETBs from special sets. Every now and then I also buy small box sets such as the Premium Tournament Collection. I love the Professor Juniper box with Brilliant Stars, Fusion Strike, Chilling Reign and Evolving Skies inside.
Those juniper boxes are actually a really good deal and valuable, thanks for the tip!!

cool thing about pokemon as the bb"s go up the other product will soon follow maybe not as much but it will just like fusion strike bb's are out of stock but blisters and sleeved are still available easy move to buy ton of those because in a year or 2 when the bb is at a higher price the sleeved boosters and blisters will be more liquid and affordable for someone compared to a bb just my thought but yah bb are still king but not bad to move in on some smaller sealed products
Good thoughts! If I would go with smaller products, I would go with sleeved booster blisters or 3 blister packs!
My ultimate tip is to dollar cost average on the dip , go for products that are not getting reprinted & lastly invest in % ratio meaning you may buy at 279 and it goes to 700 in 5 years but you think paying for a 900 box that it’s a better investment but it may have reached its limit . Oh and the main one , DONT OPEN UP YOUR BOOSTER BOXES
I don't know if I'm too late, but I always like to buy cards/promos already graded that are strange and different, like the Yu nagaba x eeveelutions. Even though they are high population. They are a) unique b) affordable for everyone c) fan favorite pokémon b) hard for most ppl collecting in America to obtain. Also looking on eBay, adding things to your cart, being patient & waiting for the right seller to send you a good offer! Patience is key
I completely agree that collecting some weird promos is absolutely amazing, i like old japanese promo cards actually haha. Being patient is key in the hobby, it can be hard to focus on your own collecting goals if everyone is buying sword and shield right now haha, but actually enjoying scarlet and violet era a lot!

Patience, deep research, sum of top card values, reprint question, buy at a low price, look at the secondary market as well, as well as what today's children like, because later as adults they will be looking for today's favorite cards...

That’s right! The disadvantage for me personally is the struggle to let go of investment cards i truly like haha
I am considering selling 1 or my 2 ES BB and 2 of my 4 ES ETBs. Planning on putting it all into LO BBs

Dont always agree with sticking with BBs and ETBs. For quick wins you can buy a few of something you like on sale. Open one to satisfy that need to open something and sell the rest after the sale ends to make back what you opened. I just did this with 151 poster boxes
Hi Dan, okay I agree! Was it hard to resell the poster boxes at this moment? Also, if you buy products other BBs and ETBs, 151 is kind a valid exception on this rule because almost every product is nice to open haha and the set is amazing. But good point!
@thepokemonks yes totally agree its about the right product and set still. Another is the CZ pikachu box i got a few of at a good price to open one. I managed to get 8 poster boxes at a good price and theyre all sold out on amazon and most other main retailers here now so no issue selling on at retail
@02danhaz that’s a good one. I think you bought at the right time because 151 supply is pretty low in stores at the moment. Also good that you immediately resold because there is a chance that there will be a reprint confirmed in the upcoming months! CZ is amazing, i just a good deal on some ETB’s. Prices are low, amazing last sword and shield set and soon people will start to hop on CZ!
My tips, be patient and buy popular stuff. Also focus on Japanese stuff

My investing tip is to be patient. I jumped on bulk 151 and got boned….. hard….
I understand, wise reminder that the pokemon company strategy is only to make as much profit as possible right now - they will print whatever set the crowd likes. Maybe this bulk will be worth some money if you can keep it on the side for a very long time. 151 can become an all-time collectors set…

Single card release prices are indeed too much fluctuating and will eventually go down most of the times!
