Great coverage man - really appreciating the vids lately!! I gotta say, the more I look at Scarlet & Violet base set, the more I like it. Like, no huge chase cards but the artwork is really solid throughout and the top 10 look to be in a $80 to $30 range. It'll never be the best S&V set but I'd say it's a really appealing and accessible set for folks chasing a full/master set at the current price point.

I bought my first ever booster box and it’s a preorder for temporal forces for $80 USD shipped and it’s awaiting at the post to be sent when it releases I’m happy with that price and I’m going to enjoy opening it !

Excellent. 5 Star tips! It's tough not buying vintage slabs right now, and spacing out spending for sealed and vintage. Sealed boxes always, ETBs only for specialty sets that don't have a booster box.

Hey mate! Always love the videos. Quick question, I have the chance to pick up two 151 Japanese booster boxes for $265AUD each. Do you think that is a fair purchase price for the current market?
Yeah, definitely, there's been a touch more supply on the market so prices have dipped a little in the last couple of weeks 👌

Where did you get that 151 pull rate are lower than the rest of S&V? based on published numbers, tehy look the same as Paldea evolved and easier than paradox rift.

Two big reasons why ETBs are still good:
1. Look at your background, how many other people have a similar display or will one day want to set one up?
2. The value of a product will always be somehow proportional to the packs inside. If a booster box goes up to $1000, why wouldn't an ETB with a smaller amount of the same contents go up similarly?
Bonus reason: Lower price point, a lot of people can't afford an Evolving Skies booster box, but an ETB is within reach (and displays better).
I agree with your points man. I guess we can't expect them to perform how they performed in the past, though. Look at the phantom forces ETB that sold the other day on ebay for more than a booster box. I'm a bigger advocate for booster boxes over ETBs now.
I actually just sold that obsidian flames Charizard in a PSA 10 for $250. There's more chase cards out there in scarlet, but the quality isn't as good as S&S, so there probably still won't be as high of a PSA population.

Just wanted to point out the Umbreon Vmax has one of the highest pops even as hard as it is to pull but its still rising in price.

Do you think chilling reign boost box is the best current investment with the most upside?
It's just had a big uptick, it's a beautiful set with rough pull rates. It'll do well long term but I think there's come slightly better sword and shield boxes right now for investability!

How do you get to know the current supply for sets?
Difficultly 😅 TPCI never release volume numbers. Can base it off allocation to stores, psa pops etc.
Also with grading there is no point sending it unless you are pretty confident it will get a 10. There are so many cards graded now that a 9 seems to be getting the same price as a nm raw card

The only way I see ETB being worth while is if a booster box is absurdly high ti the point almost no one can afford it. For example if evolving skies gets to 10k a box in 10-15 years ETB would be a good option for people who want to collect the set but can’t afford a whole booster box. If a booster box price doesn’t go up tons I don’t see ETB being valuable in the future

Has JPN 151 been reprinted yet? If not, shouldn't we expect it to become cheaper when the inevitable reprints hit?
A potential reprint would not do much to the price i guess if we learnt anything from Eevee Heroes reprints.
@@sirmateuszmarek before the reprint of EH boxes were approx 200€ on the EU market and 130€ after. Not for long, that’s true. But that just means there’s quite a lot value in timing the market.
@@bukstedyeah that was a very short time window, but you are right. As of 151 reprint, i havent heard anything. Myself, i have 5 sealed boxes bought for decent price (less than 10 000 yen, one of them made to order from PCJ), but would definitely buy more if they reprinted it.

target still selling chilling reign etbs for 40 bucks i been stocking up i have a feeling in a year or 2 there gonna be worth at least 70 to 90 like evolving skies etb its really a solid set same with brilliant stars and fusion strike.

Cant tell you how many people ive talked to that told me they bought some pieces for their collection to only have them tell me a week later they didnt get anything chase cards out of that “collection” piece.
