- Imagine getting your car stolen and getting taunted about it. Well, that's what happened to a Metro Detroit man when his Dodge Charger Scat Pack was stolen. He then began receiving videos online of the thieves joyriding in his car.
Detroit Police told him they couldn't go do anything but if this guy had to defend himself while getting his car back they would do something with him by arresting him smh I don't get law enforcement these days it no honor with them anymore.

I remember when I wanted a Dodge Charger Scat Pack because I liked how the car looked and how it sounded. However in the few years since then, the reputation of the Charger has sort of went down due to people acting foolish with them. I know some people will disconnect the battery from the car and even take in their house to avoid this from happening. I don't know of many car thieves who carry car batteries with them.

Don't need to do all that. Never leave your car running unattended, and buy the best Vehicle Security System you can afford. There are kits out there with proximity alarms...even if someone gets within less than a foot of the car, a loud warning voice and audible alarm will sound, even without them touching it

Glad you changed your mind bro. Who wants a car everybody and they daddy and mama got anyway. I'll tell you this though, tell them ppl you know they need to get another way because taking the battery does nothing. That's nothing these little $70 jump packs can't handle. Once the car is started the alternator gonna keep it running so no need for a battery and the jump pack gonna get it started. You gotta always think like a thief in order to protect your stuff. I've had my share of thievery, scamming and getting robbed when I was younger so I have a big tendency to move like them so they can't get me.

I had a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was stolen in 2011 and when I went to the 10th Precent to report it, I was laughed out the building! "It's old, just buy another car. You won't get it back! It's a waste of manpower to look for it!" These are the things that some of "Detroit's Finest" told me. So I took it upon myself to get my brother and go look for it! About half the day went by and we found it parked in an alley down below Ferry Park near Linwood with the doors open and some of my CD's and Cassette Tapes thrown out around the vehicle. The driveshaft was the damage done besides the broken rear window. Sometimes we have to do our own policing when those who are supposed to be there to help us won't! I'm glad he got his car back!!! Most people don't.

I know it's hard for the Police, but until people start respecting each other, they're the ones we're supposed to depend on! Not all cops are bad, but some just don't care and that's just how they made me feel then. I had my Jeep for 19 years before I purchased another vehicle. When the transmission and gearbox went out, it was a wrap.

What people don't realize is $3K is the price that a chop shop would give you for the a car like that. DPD treats these cases as a low priority, unless you are a high profile person... and that is whack!

Hide some killswitches. More than one. Ignition and fuel pump, maybe a second switch to work with the brake pedal switch to allow it to shift from park. Trackers and boots help too

My dad's F350 king ranch was took from a motel in Florida. My dad called a taxi and he told the man his tuck was stolen. The taxi drive said I bet its in this part of the hood and he took my dad there and there it was park on the side of the street.
When my dad opened the door.They had cut up all the leather seats and took my dad's video camera and recorded all four of them doing it and laughing about it.

I agree. My lady's 2011 Dodge Charger was stolen from her workplace a few years ago and the Detroit Police AND her insurance company treated her like the criminal! Insurance companies want law abiding citizens/tax payers to pay all of these high, full coverage rates, then if your vehicle is stolen or damaged, they, (the Police), act like you're the guilty party!! It's ridiculous! Everyday it's harder to trust the ones we're taught as children to trust and look up to, especially when you are an adult and see The Evil that REALLY takes place in society.

I had plates stolen off my car. An hour and a half looking through my neighborhood I spotted them. Called the cops and they said it was a stolen car. I got my plates and the girl got her car back sans her stereo. The police aren’t what you think they are.

You got your car back, cool... What does insurance do about the equivalent of 100,000 miles in abusive damage to the poor drivetrain? If I have receipts of dealership care and maintenance do I get the drivetrain replaced or is it "dealership serviced and certified" and I'm stuck with a ticking time bo*b for an engine, transmission or rear differential? I wouldn't want it back having video proof of the abuse it was put through unless it now has some unlimited warranty which I would fully abuse. Lol

I drove my Intrepid to Starkville, Mississippi and while I was at a local supermarket, I got out, hit the key fob and when it chirped, everyone in the parking lot turned their heads in shock 😲!! As I approached the store, I saw cars running with no one in them. And what shocked 😲 me is how friendly the people were towards me! But that was then, I don't know what it's like now.
