Whiskey AND relationship advice/therapy...WIN! I haven't had KC15, but I do have a couple of the KC9 SB's (at 120 proof) which I really like. And one unopened KC12. Every blind I've seen where it's Pappy N Year vs Anything Else, Pappy typically loses. Here's the question: If Pappy almost always loses why is it in such high demand? Based on all the reviews/blind results I've seen I would never buy the stuff.. Erin your whiskey tasting professionalism is revealed @10:03 and it's evident @14:10 because a couple of years ago you would have been a hard thumbs down on a $100 bottle that you didn't absolutely love. That said, get your act together...sheesh... Excellent video!
My view on the high Pappy cost not correlating to how good of a tasting whiskey it is; For most people, Pappy is now a collectors/trading item & not meant for drinking. It's just like rare sports memorabilia and stuff like that. People collect/buy them for a hobby and/or investment. Lot's of those people have never even drank whiskey & don't intend to. The bottles lose most or all of their value after they are opened, so what's inside doesn't really matter too much. What matters to collectors is the rarity and potential for increasing in value.
I had KC Single Barrel pick that was 11 yrs 9 months old with a distinct cherry note to it. Wasn't over oaked at all given the age. But the cherry is not what you usually expect, but it does that sometimes. And the pick was higher proof and $55.
I would swear the Knob Creek 9 is unbeatable, except the 12 year is even better. I've not had the 15 or 18 year, but I've had two store picks, and between them and the 12 year, which I like best depends on which day you catch me. 🥃 15:40 One of the reasons my wife and I have been married since August of 1979, and together since March of 1979, is we both *show* each other that we love each other. ❤
TRUTH.... tell me I'm right and show me you love me. Young men, master than and you remove so much friction from your days. I wish I knew that years ago.
I've had a few pours of KC15 and loved it. And for the money I feel the KC12 and KC SB are some of the consistently best "bang for the buck" bottles out there.
I don't see the 15 in the STL area, but can get the 12 all day long. I have the 1st release of the 18, but passed on the latest release over the weekend.
A+ I love KC. my favorite is a store pick that I bought for my birthday, it is 10+ years and a cherry 🍒 bomb 💣 As far as the 15 vs the 18 for me, the 15 is way better. The 18 is too oaky, sorry to see the 15 discontinued 😢
Interesting video, I now want some Knob Creek.😀 FYI the cost increase of pistachios is due to crop damage from freeze and drought; in the region of California where the majority of the pistachio crops are grown. Happy Thanksgiving to you two. 🥃🦃🥃
I have both of these including the 18 Year. All of of them are excellent in their own realm. I keep a 12 Year on hand always and usually have no problem finding it for $60 -$70. I found Batch 2 of the 15 Year a couple of years ago for $99.99 and it was a steal. Oh so good! I wasn't able to get an 18 Year until a couple of weeks ago. $199.99 for that but I have no regret whatsoever. I need to do a blind now with all three. Thanks for the video!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm with Erin - I like the song and it gives a good lesson: we all get knocked down - somehow some way! But it is the getting up to go on that is important.
I don't appreciate the lies. You guys obviously aren't doing these blind. You know what you're drinking. It's literally posted right there on the screen with pictures! C'mon! (joke)
Hearing Erin sing is worth the price of admission lol. ✌️
Agreed

The mystique of Pappy is curious for sure. Good case study in people simply wanting what they can’t have regardless of quality.

KC SiB picks are definitely our favorite product from their range of offerings. It’s the value champ!
Love Knob Creek 9 and 9 single barrel, haven't had 12 or 15, but bet I would like both.

Cheers and amen to that!

I bought the 12 year down here in Texas for $60
Oh And the 18 for $150 lol
I prefer the 12.. too much oak for me in the 18

Nice review! Happy Thanksgiving!
You are correct! Pistachio's are more expensive than whiskey...lol

Happy Thanksgiving 🎉🎉🎉
Happy thanksgiving 🍁
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
After picking up a BBC wheater it is hard to hunt for much. Yes there are better bottles but man, not by very much.
That BBC high wheated bourbon is a killer value! Probably the best $50 bottle I've tried.
I love KC12, but it never seems to do well in blinds
The kc12 sour/peanut funk is too off putting for my palate. It is a very good value though
Big League Chew is still around!

I was at JB a few weeks ago, and they said the 15y is discontinued.
Yes the 18 year has taken it’s place. I think 15 was last released about 3-4 years ago.
Just did a blind with the 9 12 15 18. The 12 came in last for all three people and the 18 was first for all three . Go figure
Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm with Erin - I like the song and it gives a good lesson: we all get knocked down - somehow some way! But it is the getting up to go on that is important.
What am I thankful for today? Josh setting up Erin so she can sing a little diddy right off the bat in the video. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving!
