I’m gonna do this blind tonight. I have both. They’ve been open a while and I haven’t had either for a hot minute. Initially I didn’t love the 1924 but as it opened up I loved it. Cooper’s Craft is just a steal of a deal.
I'm new to your channel I can tell you one thing, when Erin smiles so do her eyes. Please keep up the style and don't ever feel like you know more than your viewers like so many other people do
Welcome aboard! We're definitely just hanging out and having fun, like we would if we had company over and were sharing pours with them. That's our vibe, and it's not for everyone, but it works for us. Glad to have you on board!
My 4 rebuys are Coopers' Craft 100 proof, Early Times 100 proof, Old Grand-Dad 100 proof, and Bernheim Original 90 proof Wheat Whiskey. The Old Grand-Dad and Bernheim are always at the local MSRP store, the Early Times is there sometimes, and the Coopers' Craft is always at a tater store nearby marked up to $35 or $37. I also go by how I feel the next morning at 65, averaged for the whole bottle a shot or 2 at a time.
Ok did this blind tonight. It’s an absolute legit draw which pretty much never happens. And, if anything, Cooper’s Craft might’ve been the preference. Speaks volumes for the aging process experiment with CC. The blend of the two is quite good. Excellent matchup Josh. I totally get how/why they were paired.
The coopers craft is an Old Forester mash bill. So the similarities are there. Coopers is a still. Great pour. Finding it at Sam’s club in Louisville for $25.00. Enjoy your videos!
I have found that swirling the glass activates the ethanol more on the nose, so I have switched to just rolling the glass to get the legs and then the nose is more true to me.. try it out and see if you agree. Enjoy your channel! Go fast, go straight! Be SAFE!
Interesting! If you watch closely, you'll see me (Josh) do both. I don't find a distinguishable difference between the two so long as the sides of the glass are coated well before I smell.
I have Coopers Craft, picked it up in Cleveland TN, I like it but it can be a little harsh. It hits me differently sometimes. I am not an Old Forester fan at 120 bones. I paid around 35.00 for Coopers craft.
I haven’t revisited CC in a while (single barrels, like a certain Sonic Boom that was delivered to me two hours ago, and such, have taken over for me lately…and I have enough bottles for the inevitable zombie apocalypse)…but I always dug it. Interesting almost trail here…CC loosely replaces Early Times BiB in the BF portfolio after the sale to Saz, and 1924 uses the same distillate as ET.
I try to throw Coopers Craft 100 whenever I can in blinds. For me, it’s beat some much more expensive bottles such as Blantons Gold, Jack Daniels 10, and Remus 7
I'm picturing a sugared-up five year old Josh, running through the TN forest with his arms flailing and screaming; while two matronly ladies sit on a nearby porch watching him and saying, "Bless his little heart."
@@stuffandwhiskey They said it's not in my area anymore, so that sucks. I really liked it as a good go to, cheap but great tasting whiskey. I'm in the Pacific NW.
Did not think 1924 was great. Overpriced but would go get Cooper's Craft and try it. Good matchup could be new Coy Hill against JD single barrel at similar proof. Here in CT we are getting 122 proof Coy. I'm thinking might not be any better than store pick standard.
The adjective "crushable" means that you can crush whatever you're talking about. A Coke can is crushable because you can crush it. But people all of a sudden are using it to mean something else. As best as I can make out, they intend us to understand that what they're talking about is good. But since people never put things in their own words, but instead just parrot whatever cliches are current, I have no context to tell me whether that assessment is correct.
I like Cooper's but my local liquor store said that the reason they don't stock it anymore is that it went out of business and they won't be making it going forward. Have you heard that too? If so, that's a bummer.
@@stuffandwhiskey Or maybe it's just pulled from my region, I don't know for sure. But they said they stopped making it, so I assumed that meant they are going out of business. Not sure.
Brown Forman is going out of business? Not happening the distribution may have changed but Cooper Craft is not being discontinued. One of their top selling bottles in my area.
Coopers Craft barrel reserve is good but I think Early Times BiB is better for less $. Never had OF 1924 because it's not worth the MSRP let alone the markup.
Josh, you may have lost some credibility points on this one. Explanation: you give thumbs up on both before reveal, and admit you had a hard time picking a favorite, then after finding out one bottle is less than a third the cost of the other you don't alter your "thumbs up" ranking,..... C'mon, man! Really? You deserve a reprimand from the community, based on your own scoring system. 😊
My thumbs rating is always “do I like this and would like a bottle, or do I LOVE this and NEED a bottle?” The former is thumbs up, and the latter is two thumbs up. I like Cooper's Craft and am happy having a bottle, but I don’t love it and have to have a bottle. For me, I don’t give out two thumbs up unless it’s right up my alley, regardless of value, and I've always been pretty consistent about that I think.
7:44 When you said "footlocker" and "finish line" I thought you were talking about an actual footlocker or finish line. 🏁 I wish I could find Cooper's Craft here. If it's that good and only $35, I wanna try it. 🙂
Hell yeah! Cooper craft 100 is such a sleeper!
Agreed
I will always fall back to Old Forester 1910
I love it when there is a clear and close alternative to those allocated bottles that I may never see in my lifetime…
I absolutely love your wound up kid analogy.

Josh - your framing of evaluation is a good one. "For 1/3 of the price you get 80% of the experience". Excellent! That's helpful.
Took a while to find the Coopers Craft, but found and enjoying. Thanks for the recommendation
I just love the fact that there are still $35 bourbons out there that can compete with some $100+ btls.

I've been enjoying Cooper's Craft 100 proof for quite some time. It fits well between 1910 and 1920! Great show as always! Cheers!

Bought 3 bottles of Coopers' Craft last October at the Kroger in Frankfort KY for $30 each. Still have 1 im enjoying

That tracks for my preference. I expected a little more from OF1924 but it fell short of what I want in a $115 bottle of whiskey. Good match up!
I wish Cooper's Craft was available in my market
I've been saying it, and I'll say it again. We need an Old Forester 100 vs Early Times BiB vs Coopers Craft 100 vs Jack Daniels Bonded

Singing that Parliament
I'd love to see 1924 vs Early Times BiB if you haven't done that matchup before.
Great review
I tried the Coopers Craft years ago because of the hype. Found it to be too perfumy/floral for my taste. Ohio seems to stock it regularly.
I revisited Coopers 100 not that long ago and was pleasantly surprised!
I thought I heard these two are the same mashbill.

A snapshot of my childhood, indeed. 😂
CC100 is a great pour. Too bad it is being discontinued!!!!
❤️❤❤ Cooperscraft 100. Can’t beat it for the price.
I can't even find Cooper's Craft anywhere.
They stopped making it unfortunately. That's what I was told by my liquor store when I asked why they didn't have it anymore on the shelves.
It’s not distributed everywhere (and comes and goes in waves in our market).

Which stores in CT carry Coy Hill!?
@@B1BAirmaster most volume stores got 1 bottle. Costco had one for 66!!!

Wanted to be a fan of coopers craft 100, but after trying a second bottle I just can’t. Just not for me.
Yeah, she looks like ah grammarian.
We’ll take that as a compliment. 😂
I'll take 1920 over 1924 any day. After the price and I like the flavor of 1920 considerably more.
Coopers Craft. is incredible for the price!!
