Niš. If you are looking for REALLY authentic barbecue. The best one ever iz in Niš. Also, Niš is full of cultural and historical monuments that tell a lot about the history and culture of this country.
I was in Serbia a couple of times for work in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Subotica and I have to tell you that Serbia is beautiful and full of beautiful buildings, food and people are warm and wonderful. I recommend everyone to visit.
These are the things you tried: mantije, pohovani pileci stapici, pljeskavica, burek, komplet lepinja, Bucko pizza with toppings, knedle, cevapi, and Jelen beer. All that in one day? Wow. You made a good selection of Serbian fast food.
@@HungryTwoTravel Niš is really the best for barbecue. But if you are still here , you should visit Novi Sad. Nord of Srbia have a different variety of food. OMGosh what a fabulous video of amazing street find. The mini sausage rolls, yes plllleeaasseeee. And then the Serbian Pljeskavica - I can't believe that's a small, it looks so yummy. I've had burek here in Canada and it's always a treat. The komplet lepinja with that egg whipped into it - oh man. And then the cevapi - please send a few by UPS now to Canada. Even the bun looks so delicious. My mouth is watering. Thank You for showing our food our City Belgrade to the World You are always welcome in Serbia 🇷🇸 much love Stay always Amazing as You are love Your video Legends ❤
Oh - I love kajmak - it is basically the purest milk product you can eat and the yogourt, It is usually made by milk farmers - in the process when they boil the milk to pasteurize it, it forms a thin creamy film on top, and it is accumulated - and this is called Kajmak. If it pure you can eat all you want and you cannot gain waight - I PIG OUT ON THIS STUFF WHEN I GO AND I RETURN A FEW POUNDS LIGHTER. Anything organic is easily processed by the digestive system and in fact speeds up our metabolism.
What a street food tour! Once again, I didn't know that Serbia and the balkans had so much street food available. This is definitely different street food then what you find in say, Asia. But, it is all so interesting and looks so good! I would eat everything you tried. The only one I would also be not so keen on is that pizza... That looked, interesting. I like my pizza cheesy and thin crusted, made in a wood fire oven. That looked like an atrocity to be honest. But, I'd try it nontheless like you did! Also, the Serbian street food is similar to Bulgarian street food, very meaty and delicious looking!
Yes, there's loads of street food to try in Belgrade, we were shocked by how much you could find. Everything was so fresh and tasty too, we loved exploring the city. Thanks for watching and commenting, Charles!
When you eat burek or mantije is must tu eat it with jogurt, so one bite and then, while is still in your mouth, you take a sip of jogurt and mix it. It makes it way better
That white cream you see in burgers and other food is probably not yogurt. It's always some kind of cream based on sour cream, or pure sour cream. Serbian sour cream looks similar to greek yogurt, it's very thick and firmly. Sour cream is often mixed with various spices, herbs, cheese, seeds and many other stuff to make dips and creams for sandwiches, burgers and almost anything. Serbian yogurt is always more or less liquid and you will get it in some small bottle, cup or tetra pack, and it's always closed. You will never get opened yogurt.
Be sure to visit the street "Maršala Tolbuhina Boulevard" in New Belgrade... Unofficially, that street is called "the street of the hungry"... That street is the best street food in Belgrade... That street is 4 kilometers from the center of Belgrade...I recommend Novi Sad as the next city to visit...
Not really "the best", just well-known...
Great video. If you want true pizza, Bucko is more on the craveing side, try 'Majstor i margarita' place. It was voted top 50 for Europe regularly, i think it was 35th in 2020 even.

Actually, i don't know a single person that eats Bucko pizza without the toppings - and most of the time it's the go-to place after a night out just to let the greasy topping soak up the alcohol you ingested. If you're looking for actual pizza in Belgrade, Bucko is not the place. as far as i'm concerned the Bucko pizza is just used as something to pour the chicken or beef "salad" onto.
Well that's good to know! We can definitely see it being a bit more popular as a late night place, although there were still so many people there during the day. It would probably taste better after a few beers, or several 🤣
13:37 Thats why i say in the USA fast food is basically junk food, and here is fresh original food. I'm glad you enjoyed it and get to see what real food is. And Bucko(Chubby) Pizza is not your average Pizza since they give emphasis on their topping. If you want to try real pizza you need to go to some real pizzeria. Get Capricciosa, Serbiana, Uzicka...
Totally, the 'fast food' here in Serbia is legit fresh and cooked from scratch, nothing like in other countries! We're loving it so much 😋 thanks for watching!
I stopped watching it at 3:49, I am hungry, in LA, originally from Serbia, and craving what you eating! :) I will continue watching after I get some decent food :)
Try "punjeni pileći batak" filled chicken drumstick ,with 3 toppings (ofc you can add few more ,but don't put mayo and ketchup). 1. Urnebes (cheesy red topping) 2. Tzatiki 3. Tomatoes For crunchy effect add onions and cucumber! p.s this few toppings go with everything
I would like to say you made a lot of good choices there, just to mention, that dip for chicken sticks is a mixture of sour cream ("pavlaka" in serbian) and mayo. And in pljeskavica, you had sour cream (pavlaka) as well. What to say, balkan ppl are crazy about pavlaka. We place it on top of burek as well.😅😅

You really need to try the Cevapi from Banja Luka! I grew up and live in Germany so I am not used to the food either but those are by far the best Cevapi I have eaten in my entire life... They are called Banjalucki Cevapi because they have a special shape and I guess different spices... I have heard that the Cevapi from Sarajevo are pretty good too but I did not try them yet. I have never been to Serbia myself but Banja Luka is a city that is based in the Republika Srpska in BiH. The flags and banners there will probably look familiar to you... ^^
Best think that you have DRINKABLE YOGHURT in Serbia. When I was in Switzerland, you have yoghurt that you eat with a spoon so I needed to go to turkish stores to buy real yoghurt...

Yeah, hospitality is so amazing when you are filming a review... 😂 I literally never got anything for free in my entire life... But still the food is the best. But it was way better before. Today you can hardly find good pljeskavica od ćevapi, at least if you are from the 80-90s or older, you can definitely feel how classic bbq street food has declined a little.

That's a really tough call... recently we were in Skopje, Macedonia and we really loved it there for the scenery, the people, atmosphere of the city, food, everything was great :) Definitely a livable city !

Thanks for the correction :)
What country (not your own) would you like to live in full time if you had to choose, and why?
That's a really tough call... recently we were in Skopje, Macedonia and we really loved it there for the scenery, the people, atmosphere of the city, food, everything was great :) Definitely a livable city !
@@HungryTwoTravel I asked another channel and they said Romania. Thank you for answering.
We also used to live in South Korea and loved it there as well!
