New subscriber. Glad to be on board. Looking forward to stowing away with you and hearing your english improve with each vid. And it's very good now! Let's go!
Fun episode…..I am on my 40’ catamaran Bahama bound, but was in ARC #1 in 1986 on my 34’ Rival 34. Had an amazing time! Hope you enjoyed it…..barring of course your recent haulout! Thanks, Andrew
Thank you! Oh wow, that’s Pats birthday year 😉 Sounds great - especially the first one was for sure a fantastic experience! Now we hope we can find a good solution and our way forward..
Good decision process and obvious choice... That will be my next project... You will have a more than capable generator with a high output alternator on your existing engine... Your bread looked delicious... yum...
Thanks! 😊 The first tests were great and we hope that we have found a long term solution with this setup! How is your current energy set up? The bread (in German Hefezopf) was nice for the first time trying🤤
@@patandfrankie My set up is lead acid 440 AH, solar of 400wts plus a wind generator. My batteries have about another year to go before they will need replacing so now is when I am planning for Lithium. I'll need twice the solar but that is no problem. My launch, I have built and modeled off a European canal barge, so plenty of deck space...
From my perspective, solar and wind power is a good combo. Diesel generators have a lot of moving parts that can fail, overheat, fuel consumption and maintenance are the drawbacks. However, they provide instant power. It sounds like you've done your research which is very important. Talking to other cruisers is also good for insight. Hopefully all goes well with this daunting task.
Thank you so much for your opinion 😊 We thought the same about the generator and we’ll go for a combo with lithium, solar and a hydrogenerator (water power). We hope that will work! It’s so nice to have the community here, as you for example and the cruisers out there - everyone is so helpful and it nice to talk about the different topics! Thanks also for your wishes..in the next episode we’ll show the result 😉
Respect ! There ist always a first time, but now it seems you are already good in technical maintainance. And by the was I can imagine how good the Brioche was tasting. It looks delicious!!!😊
A lot of technology that you need to know..... !! Even more than our Womo🤦♀️ I'm really looking forward to the videos of the Atlantic crossing, I'm sure there will be some, right? I'm just very curious and interested 🤔 in the work that will be done / and the implementation and of course the sea / wave and .... am looking forward
Yes, there is a lot of technology in a boat, but with the time you also learn a lot. We can imaging there is a lot in a Womo, too! Of course there will be a video or maybe more then one of the crossing. We are also very excited 😊
Buy a portable gas generator like a Honda, they are quite and dependable.Always good for emergency or to power 12 to 110 volts.Interesting episode I subscribed to follow along you adventures 👍

Great to have you onboard - thanks for joining our journey ⛵️
We try our best to improve it 😂 and it is nice to hear that it’s getting better ☺️

Sounds like a perfect plan. We wish you all the best for the implementation 👌🏻
hola, great video, very interesting for me to see what you do on the boat! I look forward to the next part when you build new system
Thanks! Happy to hear that. It’s always something to do ;) It was a nice project! 😊

When does the ARC start and when are you in the Caribbean? 😊
The ARC starts on the 24th of November and we should be there until the 21st of December 🤩
