Making this hit me with so many feels and childhood nostalgia, is the LOTR just engrained into anyone else's childhood as hard as mine?
I feel old
King Theoden especially. The speech here, and the one at Helm's Deep in the finaly sally are enough to stir a manly and noble spirit in anyone.
Yes. Yes and Yes.
The point where the fiddle peaks during their charge always gives me goosebumps, every single time.
Hope this video gets a mil views lol I've watched it 2x already
real footage of brettonians being good
I will stand by my opinion of cav being underwhelming and Bretonnia being mid but Grail units are fun as hell now with their new broken overpowered mass
*Bretonnia players finally uninstalling cav mods*
say what you want but peasant pox + norm archers and men-at-arms with shields are still one of my favourite early game combos
All honesty I like playing them but before this buff all cav in the game felt underwhelming
@@Okoii TWW players be like "Cav sucks. Elite infantry sucks. SEMs suck. Artillery sucks. Guns suck."
Are there really people out there thinking chaff and lords are the only good things in the game? Well, besides Domination players, but I mean real human beings.
imagine if there's a sequel where the grail knights see a line of norscan war mammoths on the horizon
People need to see this, upvote this, and comment this so the boi Okoii sees this and makes it happen, haha
Oh please yes! Upvote this to the top!
Reform the line!!!
And then Kemmler and an army of cairn wraiths after that!
Its the orks, so a stack of rogue idols
The accordeon killed me
As a french, I concur. May the Lady protect you.
Faye: King Louen stands alone
Duke Alberic: hon hon hon, not alone. CHEVALIERS!
*repeated hon hon hon sounds*
The fact that UA-cam tries to translate this is pretty fantastic lmao
I can hear this, and it terrifies me. Just imagine being an Ork boi, minding your own business, when you suddenly hear *HON HON HON* from seemingly nowhere. Then the Grail Knights all crest the hill at the same time, and you realize the Waagh has not gone as planned.
@@panther-nk2hnHEAVY IS SPY!!!!
Frenchmen do not all go around saying hon hon hon, you Francophobe!
They say "Ho he ho."
*hon hon hon*
*raise magical baguette lances*
This is a fucking masterpiece.
I suddenly crave a croissant.
QUASO

😂
Ironically, I have watched this video and read your comment while chewing a croissant. And it's 8:23 PM. This has to mean something.
HOM HON HON
Ride of the Rohirrim has to be one of the best movie moments in history.
Also one of the best moments in actual history, which it's based on ;)
I've always found it pretty melancholic. Thousands of men and a woman relinquishing their lives for the future of others. It is an heroic moment but it's also a colossal waste of human life that won't come back. It makes me hate Sauron and Saruman for causing those wars even more.
@@Dsonsee Then you're getting closer to what Tolkien felt towards the great war (WW1 of which he was a part of), and wars in general, a useless waste of human lives. If I remember right he even said something along the lines of: I don't love the warrior for what he can do/how good he is at killing but rather for what he stands to defend. But since I don't know his exact words I will not try to quote him here.
TLDR: War is bad and a colossal waste of life, there is no such thing as glory, and yet there are things worth protecting in this world sometimes even to the death.
@@Dsonseeeven more so melancholic because they all knew that they were probably riding to their doom. Like Théoden said earlier at Dunharrow, “No, [we cannot beat Mordor]. But we will beat them in battle nonetheless.” Man basically threw his army into a meat grinder he knew they might never come out of, all to gloriously strike the enemy as hard as possible and allow his allies a reprieve. Every single rider knew that, and they followed him anyway.
@@arnthedragonborn8306 Quite appropriate to memorialize those that give their lives in an instance where the literal world would end re. Sauron's resurgence. Its of course sad that some of these warriors will not return but I wouldn't say it was a "waste" specifically, they give their lives willingly so that the rest of mankind can survive/have a fighting chance of survival. Just one part of the greater sacrifice for the war of middle earth.
One of the few scenes in a movie I'd ever call truly perfect. The way the music swells during the speech but then at its highest point there is no grand orchestral sound, but a simple violin melody. It feels bittersweet and heroic in equal measure, perfectly capturing the tone of Theodens speech.
Also lmao, the horn song really got me xD
Now look at the Zoomer trash we have now.
When Theoden said "It's Theodin' time" and theodened all over the orcs... I was in tears... One of the moment of all cinema
@@stephenschenider4007hey now, let’s not act all conceited like there’s nothing good coming out nowadays. That’s just plain false (just as there were plenty of terrible movies back then)
@@jordinagel1184 Its not erven comparable.
@@stephenschenider4007 that's just flat out not true. We simply don't remember all the bad stuff from before. The same thing is gonna happen to the current time in 30-40 years...
It is a bit weird that Theoden's speech is like 70% Eomer's doomer speech after seeing Theoden (and seemingly Eowyn) killed in the book.
It's known that Tolkien based his depiction of the Eorlingas on the pagan peoples of Northern Europe, specifically inspired by their willingness to uphold what they perceive to be the right thing to do, even if it means their deaths. Given how Theoden's entire character arc is qbout being roused from his complacency in old age, I think it fits to take what was otherwise a speech of despair into a call to action.
Sometimes that "built different" meme actually pans out.
Really, it's just the last line with the ruin and world's ending.
Theoden was hell-bent on dying in battle after being roused from the spell, and kept charging until it happened. It fits pretty well with that mindset - it has a "hope is dead and so are all you motherf--s" vibe
@@TheWhiteDragon3 Theodin is based more on King Sobieski III of Poland, who led his Winged Hussars in a famous charge to liberate Vienna from a Turkish siege (which inspired the story of Gondor being saved by a glorious cavalry charge).
I agree about the message of his speech. It's not "doomer" to be willing to uphold your oaths and values, even unto death. It is the way of the warrior.
that charge at the end, masterclass dude. gave me a warm feeling and smile. Wish you could mod your campaign with those nvidia settings
Which nvidia settings?
@@darkywarky CA released an update that allowed players to play a mode called workshop iirc. There you can bloat and change the stats of unit. Like increasing HP, ATK, Unit weight, scale, and so forth.
i think it's intel, not nvidia, but yes.
Shows picture of a Grail Knight and a Lawnmower.
Woman: They are both the same.
But in all honesty they did well with buffing Brets. Now all we need is Questing/Grail Beasts thrown into the mix.
I rewatch the trilogy (extended, naturally) at least once a year. Guess it's time this year.
Same, man.
And it's the most wonderful time of the year.
I can smell his CPU from the other side of the planet
Literal perfection!
If they walk it back in the next patch I'm going to riot
I just want chaos knights and blood knights to be able to do the same. Maybe even those filthy dragon princes
@@tylerayers7712 no
@@tylerayers7712 chaos knights and blood knights should be close to Grail knights, but dragon princes are supposed to be faster rather than same strength per unit
They will walk it back because of how it interacts with braced units. It SHOULD not work so well against braced charge defense against large units, but I fear theybwill screw it up vs EVERYTHING, and make them useless again
@@tylerayers7712 please no. For once I feel powerful using Bretonnia
This is like a scene in the end times, when the surviving knights of Bretonia charge the forces of chaos outside of Altdorf
End Times is brilliant in concept, but very poor in execution.
The end times is not 'epic' in the slightest. So lazy and cheesy.
Make the Charge of the Rohirrim so memey it doesn't send chills down your spine - Impossible Challenge.
But the horns playing stereotypical french music was a great attempt.
Still a better story then End Times.
Not a HIGH bar, but I concur nonetheless. :)
(I prefer to think of AoS as an alternate timeline that is only BARELY related to the Warhammer world, kinda like the difference between old-trek and new-trek... One just chooses what they like better...)
@@TFZ. Agrees... I am looking forward to see what they are going to do what Return to the Old World.. even if GW already said that it isn't going to be an alternate timeline and even there End Times will happen... mostly I fear that GW is going to use time traveling Sig-marines.
Combining Lotr and Grail Knights with the music and speech from the movie was just so good. I got chills watching this.
I expected one of the usual memes, but no, it's just grail knights being what cavalry is meant to be.
That scene from Return of the King is one of my favorite movie scenes ever. If I wasn't already planning to get Warhammer 3 (whenever I can get a new PC) this would've made we want to so I could recreate this.
If you want to actually remake it, also consider getting Medieval 2 and getting the Third Age Total War mod.
Pure masterpiece.
Now I have to watch the entire trilogy, again.
Get the extended cut version if you haven't already
@@dmtaboo_truth7052 He's got the whole trilogy, ain't no way he doesn't have the extended cuts.
Brother, this hit my nostalgia so damn hard. I wasn't expecting to tear up when the violin hit, but I did. 🥹
"MAKE SAFE THE CITY!"
I was half expecting a row of warshrine mammoths to come at the end. XD
Brettonians making the greentide very literal
I see King Theodin, I impale that like button with my lance.
I wonder how this re-enactment hasn´t been done before. It is just awesome!
Mostly cuz prior to patch 3.1, Bret Cav would just like stop after 1 or 2 units
@@neverknowing1 they still stop okoii modded them using the in game mod device that allows you to shift stats of units
Gosh darn it, those dang horns made me spit my drink LOL
Honestly, one of the best scenes in all of LOTR, and an absolutely amazing display of Bretonnian Cavalry superiority. Truly an awe inspiring charge.
And then there was the end which perfectly encapsulates what it's like fighting wyverns with horses.
Very epic and the horns sounded great!
Damn, that Riders of Rohan theme hits harder than a grail knight doomstack. Fantastic video!
Bretonnia is and will always be my favorite human faction no matter how weak or strong they are
My favourite human faction is the Empire.
Because you can make an army of steam cannons and invade Bretonia with them.
The game is all Reich.
based
Always preferred Bretonnia over Empire back in WH2. Still do, especially with the new expansion
Back when wh1 was out, me and my friend’s first co op campaign was brettonia. Being able to see the shit that we wanted to do come to life is so pleasant. Thank you CA for fixing these horses
0:32 😂😂😂😂 pprrffffttt 😂😂😂😂
Those horns caught me off guard.
This is something I love to say is a true Okoii moment. Great job with the edit and the mixing.
Before Grail Knights arrive:
,,The ladies blessings is lost!!!‘‘
After:
,,For the King.Cut them down!!!‘‘
One of your best, an excellent homage to one of the greatest scenes in cinema history. Thank you
The Baguette song killed me
1:35 "Louen King," they answered. "He is dead. But Alberic King now rides in the battle: he with the blue crest in the wind."
Man i cant wait for Vlad to show up with his army and flank the Orcs!
Finally, lore accurate lawnmow... i mean grail knights.
That last part made dads milk come out of my nose.
Only okrii could bring tears to my eyes and make me bust up laughing at the same time
This is what I've always wanted from this game especially this moment from Bretonnia so Thank You so much from the bottom of my heart
This is funny af, thanks for making my day!
Fantastic edits and you are hilarious.
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! i got goosebumps from that. damn. good job
Literally the funniest thing I’ve seen all day! Top job, mate!
Thanks! I needed this!
This scene from the LotR every time make me goosebumps
Glorious.
Also, that damn music sends shivers down my spine every time. Beautiful track.
Holy frik THIS RIGHT HERE IS YOUR BEST WORK
0:33 i literally cried lol
Never fails to give me goosebumps!
That’s a real masterpiece. Thank you ❤
Might be the greatest video on UA-cam
Jeeeesus this is so good!!
I have been dreaming about it until this day. Thank you for making my dream comes reality ❤️
Gives a whole new meaning to greentide.
Goddamn i lost it so hard when that dude blew the horn and baguette sounds started
This couldn’t have been more perfect
This is pure art. Pure beauty
Those transitions are phenomenal!
That amount of grail knights is honestly terrifying.
Beautiful!
The accordeon music, this is what i was expecting from an Okoli video.
10/croissant.
The Mumakil " K'daai Destroyers"
Hell yeah, brother.
R.I.P Bernard Hill
Ive just rewatched the scene and this pop in my recommended xD
Battle of Pellanor fields is the only chapter of a book I have re-read immediately. This is incredibly well done.
Gorgeous!
Similar to the Skull Cannon video, this is getting me interested in units I haven' thought of before
epic editing :DD ESPECIELLY the french horn
This is great!
This made my day
that was sooo good. Of course the music did add to it but it just looked so satisfying too
Lmao beautiful. Epic and hilarious at the same time.
"A gentleman is someone who can play the accordion, but doesn't." ― Tom Waits
A thing of art and beauty. Ladies' blessing on you, sir!
i was just watching The two towers like an hour or so ago and then i come to this amazing
bro, this made my day.
0:57 WAAAGHing stops...
cinematic perfection right here
This was beautiful. Also I guess I'm re-watching the trilogy this week
Well done
Those transitions are fucking perfect dude omg
Awesome, though at the end it actually felt more like the undead army of the mountain folk ripping through the greenskins (orks). With all that mass and beeing unstoppable.
Brings a tear the eye it does
That was awesome.....wow gave me chills. Bretonnian cav army is a terror to behold
This is brilliant
You mad lad, it's beautiful.
Masterpiece!
Perfection
You killed the moment with the frog people noise.
beautiful
Damm braa , Goose bumps
On the shortlist for your best work, hands down.
Perfect. I liked it when all those orks were flying when the calvary hit them. THAT WAS SO AWASOME AND COOL!!!
Magnificent ❤
Wow! That was too epic! Well they are all living saints so...
