OKAY, HEAR ME OUT I've just made my first 1M after years of playing WoW. This could only have happened because of Penguin's cute voice guiding us. I started to follow her tips by the end of January. I am very grateful for the videos. I've followed other UA-camrs who promised quick and easy gold, but it was only with her strategies that I could earn gold stably and progressively.
Can attest to the same thing. Being an avid pet battle collector, I just wanted to make my first million to get Francois. But through Penguin's strategies, I've surpassed that, got the pet, and have just passed two million!
Thanks a million, Penguin! The deviled eggs are my new go-to goldmaking recipe. They are selling super quick on my server. And I wouldn't have known how to get it without your help. Cleared the entire vault and then went back to get more of the recipe scraps from the rat after watching your video :D
If you're in the zkera vaults and do the /target recipe rat and don't see anything the rat probably isn't there. Don't waste your time walking around aimlessly in the vault typing the command and wondering why it's not there like someone did..... Just have to wait for next reset and try again. The rat should appear right away after you type the target command.
I really enjoy your guides, Penguin. Thank you for taking the time to make all of them for returning players like me. The new crafting system with all its skill points and lack of reset seems very convoluted, but these secondary skills seem pretty straightforward. Me and countless others truly appreciate the effort you put in to these guides. PS. You have a pleasant voice. Have you considered doing radio? :)

Also for the rat you can just jump to another vault go back and the rat is there again don't know if this is a bug but handy if you haven't got any cheddar at hand. Thought this might help.
Good video. I didn't know about the new main stat recipe. Primary stat feasts used to be profitable especially with the salad, but the price sunk a lot, at least in EU. I'm gonna buy them and I bet the price is gonna rise with 10.1 unless there is another feast.
The cheddar wasnt needed when i did it, it just made it more convenient. When i did it, i just went back to the bottom floor and back to the room to pick it up again
Yea, if you don’t have cheddar then the rat will leave your inventory and you’ll have to pick it up again. Not a big deal if you sit in the vault and wait the cooldowns out. But if you want to pick up the rat and go about your playing like normal, you’ll want the cheddar
The rat respawns, so even if you don't have the cheese, you can just find him in the same room you found him in. But even if he's not in your inventory, he still has the 5min cooldown. So you can't pick him back up again if you don't have cheese until the invisible 5min timer is up.
Yea, technically you can get by without the cheese if you don’t mind sitting the vault for a while, but most players will likely want to go about their playing as they wait for the cooldowns
The fish recipes can be fished up "relatively" easy. At the start of DF I flew around the whole continent with swarm detection and fished every pool I came along. I think I had all recipes after one and a half rounds. Might not make sense now but back then fish were expensive so I got a good profit while hunting the recipes.
He should be. If he’s on an upper level, you may be out of reach. I’d try to go up to another level and try again. Also try on the left side and right side to see if you are out of range

for me the craftsim profit and auctionator profit are completely different. it seems like craftsim sometimes sums up all thee quality types of an item, instead of picking just one. is there a way around this?
I am just now starting to make gold in DF and it seems that on my server the margins are incredibly slim for just about everything. I have 300k starter moneys. But every time I invest in a profession or get a new recipe the margins disappear almost immediately. How do I combat this?
It’s a combination of being patient and having knowledge/experience with judging prices. For example, in this video one of the large dishes had a very very nice profit of 28g but that was because the final product was reset to about 12g (or somewhere around that price), by just opening the AH, the reset isn’t 100% clear, but since I’ve been looking at these items for a while, and I know how to read TSM tooltips, I can quickly see that it’s a reset and will likely go back down pretty fast. That’s an extreme example, but many beginners accidentally invest in items when they are reset/inflated without realizing. Secondly and the harder thing to deal with is just fluctuating prices. The screenshots you see in this video were taken the night before recording, from those screenshots you can see that profits changed a lot, that’s just what happens. In cases like this, you should save the items and only sell when they are profitable - that might be 2 hrs later, 12 hrs later, 2 days later
Auctionator does not have sale rate since sale rate is a made up metric by TSM. If you worry about sale rate, you can still utilize the TSM tooltip while using Auctionator as your price source for CraftSim. In terms of cooking specifically, I’ve never really had any items that I crafted that were profitable and I couldn’t sell them. Since they are so cheap, you should be fine with crafting a few and testing the waters yourself before committing to crafting a ton, if you don’t use TSM.

They murdered fortune cookies because some dev wanted to pay 15 gold instead of 60 for his bufffood. Don't even get me started on cooking. It was the only good thing and now it's dead.
might be a noob question. how could you afk for 20 minutes? doesn't the cooking fire only stay placed for 5 minutes at a time? do you just need to come back every five minutes to make sure you keep cooking? or is there an addon or something to make it not despawn?
You don’t have to use your own cooking fire. There’s stationary ones that allow you to cook as much as you want. The fireplace by the cooking trainer is one and all of the braziers within Valdrakken is also one. I tend to sit outside the inn right by that brazier and mailbox
Ya know.. if you're gonna say something is "super valuable" would be super helpful if said why. Even hovering over the item to show what buff it provides would be super helpful.
I thought about your comment for a bit, and I think knowing what the item is would probably be usefull, but I don’t think it matters in the sense of the word valuable. I think she just means it sells for a significant profit margin.

Turns out the rat is sadly not guaranteed - check back after reset!
I have max profession equipment but I only get 4% resourcefulness, 18% crafting speed and 3% multicraft?
You need to make sure you have quality 5 blue equipment

Auctionator profit is always wrong - it doesnt take into account procs, you should disable it in your Auctionator settings
which 2 main professions are worthwhile to make gold? I would like to choose 2 new professions
I recommend anything besides alchemy
maybe it's good to mention 5% AH cut. So for every salad you are cut almost 40 silver. It could be nasty for some expensive items.
AH cut is already taken into account with CraftSim. If CraftSim says 3g profit, that is 3g after the cut

Theres a handful of recipes that still sell from old world expansions, but cooking is very much a current content profession
