The fact we don't have barrowed powers feels so GOOD. Do I have to complete 15 different things in the first week? Nope. But, in that same space of time, there's something like 15 different efforts I can choose to undertake. And that distinction makes a world of difference. I particularly love the new, improved, and heavy focus on professions as a primary expansion feature. I hope they keep this philosophy and keep them evergreen.
Dont get me wrong, you are totally right about the borrowed power part. On the other hand if you play the game for 2 weeks you can do next to nothing in the game. I mean you can of course raid/m+/pvp and goof around with tedious grinding but there is nothing going on. There are weekly events that you can finish in 2 hours at max and besides the raid nights...well, you can play a game that has content like FF14, Elden Ring or whatever other game you prefer. If you objectively write the features down it has less content than WoD had - and WoD was the expansion where ppl complained the most about boredom and lack of activites. What I want to say is that it's nice to have fun but Dragonflight is no longer fit for a 'main game': it is rather a game you can play next to your main game...and this will hurt those ppl a lot who consider WoW their main game.
@@szilardenyedi2855 I disagree, the removal of a massive expansion defining "system" that is time locked and endlessly tedious as a form of content means that your time investments are optional. In my opinion this means that alts are once again the way to extend your game time. Most things are account wide and theres no 40 step system to make you fall behind on alts, its just gear and time.
@@szilardenyedi2855 I disagree as well. For Me, WoW STOPPED being a main game during BFA & SL's. Because of too many shallow and mandatory chores, rather than deep systems I could choose to engage with at will. So what's making you apparently disengage, is making me reengage at a level I have not in nearly a decade. This version feels akin to the early expansions I fell in love with as a gamer. How many features did BC or Wrath offer? Yet the original Wrath's numbers eclipse the current player base. There are something like 12-15 features to complete in 10.0. But, there is a flaw in simply counting features. Sure we can count every feature as 1 item, or you can consider the depth of that feature. The level of complexity in the new crafting and profession system for example is worth it's weight of 2 or 3 average systems. It has more complexity than Azerite Armor, Corruption, and Island Expeditions combined, as just an example. And that depth has purpose, it's not arbitrary. The talent system and lack of barrowed power seems simple on it's face. Yet, it's just as complex. Players can simply level a character and then elect how they want to play it, with numerous choices and niche options available for most specs in the game. And the inherent complexity presents a wall to simulators attempting to define a meta for the entire player base. Again, complexity with purpose, offering choice. I don't need, nor want, 15 shallow things I'm forced to engage with. I don't want to be forced to engage with anything. I don't need nor want a digital baby sitter. I want to set my own goals inside a game structure which is divers. So, I'd much rather 2 or 3 deeply layered and engaging systems I find compelling. That's what I find so refreshing and enjoyable about there 10.0 approach. Now, is it for everyone? clearly not. But what you described as your preference, is what's been failing to retain players for two straight expansions. It's why I quit in 9.1. There are a solid dozen things to occupy your time in 10.0, if you choose too. But thankfully, that is once again a choice. Having that choice doesn't make WoW less of a game for me, it strengthens it.
I see both your and Cameron's point as well. I am glad DF has something relieving for returning players. It almost feels like players used to grind don't know what to do however returning players feel great. For example I've gathered all the dragon glyphs, all available knowledge points on 8 professions + cooking/fishing, made a load of gold from crafting, got 2 level 70's and i stand between 5-10 with all the factions but i am not willing to grind that. This took only Saturday and Sunday. Thinking about next week..get all the knowledge points, craft a bit..and that's it i suppose. I dislike raiding/m+/pvp in WoW due to the minmax nature of it, I rather raid in another game. What I want to see is something fun I can do constantly/every day. Timeless isle, Tanaan jungle, Halfhill Farming, garrisons to a certain extent (definitely not to a scale how it ended up), Mage tower, hell even Torghast or Horrific Visions could be very fun if it wasn't tied to player power and i can even see potential with some changes to archeology, pet battles (current iteration is such a boredom) and even the mission tables (no, dont make it a goldfarm, rather a unit collecting and battling minigame). WoW totally lacks these fun features, it is all about numbers.
Its so nice logging in knowing I don't have to go do a quest or run around a tower for an hour trying to keep up. I can just que up for mythics or do some proffesions.
I collected all the glyphs in a zone before I moved on to the next during leveling. Would recommend that to anyone. Getting these as you level along with the talent points made the leveling process at launch actually feel good for the first time in many, many xpacs.
Didn't collect anything really, only something I saw on the way. Took me one day to get max level, didn't find it more exciting than in any other expansions or game. Luckily it was quick, so that's a good thing.
racking up all the glyphs, flightpaths and exploration achievements asap is a good idea. (save the glyph on the top of the highest mountain till last, it's a pain in the neck to get to if you don't have all 6 "batteries" charged).
+ you can spec in the glyphs while out farming them so you dont have to return anywhere to use them. So whenever you can spec in do it, makes it easier to also get the rest
Absolutely this! I listened to other guides that said it wasnt that important. But getting around quicker is a game changer and helps you level faster with less annoyance 😊
And if there is a glyph you are consistently having trouble getting, ask a friend to help. You can hop on their dragon and they can take you to it. There is one that is at the very top of a big cliff that you might struggle with at first. Turn on the option to have a passenger right away. It's very cute to see somebody in the form of a little whelp riding along with you.
I was kind of triggered seeing him at level 70 with only 3 vigor... It must be Beta footage or something, right? He couldn't have leveled to 70 without getting any Glyphs, right?
Quick tip for those wanting to pvp, get a boatload of honor BEFORE you hit 70 by doing battlegrounds while leveling, so you can buy some pvp gear at 70 immediately. Once you hit 70, most people will have 411 item level.
I listened to Supatease and tried that because he mentioned you would just be getting whooped on at 70 until you geared up…..but my teams were constantly being thrashed anyways so I just waited until 70 and got bloody token gear an wq upgrades etc. lol

12:33 HA! 😆 I didn’t know what that was for! Thank you 😅😄 well, I didn’t know a LOT of things since I’m just turned 70 (and been gone since mid-cata) so thank you for this video all together ☺️👌
Woahhh what is that dragon skin you used at the start? that's so cool :O (P.S. I'm still watching your videos even tho I'm still level 65 after 100%ing the Waking Shores. I'm big chilling this expac.)
For the glyphs you can track them all down with achievement progression and your eyes. It took half an hour to get them all (I got lost a few times but that's part of the fun of exploring)
Right now, working on my second max toon, while I clean up the rest of the missed glyphs now that I reached max on my first. Totally was worth it to not use the helper addons the first lap. But now it's time to make sure I got everything, and go for the loremaster progress while it's early.
first thing I did when I got dragonriding was gathering all the glyphs and exploring the entire isles to gather all flightpaths in the process. takes about 2 hours and saved me many hours of doddling around on the ground when the dragon's out of juice later. and got ma a bit over a level without a single fight in the process.

A tip: If youre playing a low damage healer a lot of content is VERY painful solo and some mobs are entirely unkillable (non rares). Luckily lots of random people and ofc guildies love having a healer, and the ride along mechanic for dragonriding (talk to the trainer to unlock it for free) lets you tag along and do your quests and such VERY easily.
its the highland drake, the skin is a gladiator skin which I thought was for this upcoming season. maybe not since he has it already? idk tho, hope that helps

@@nathanbrooks6915 thats simply wrong. You couldnt get into mythic+ content if you had no artifact points or azeroth crap, you simply couldnt perform. Now someone will come and say "i could do it just fine blaablaa", well gratz, youre in the small minority then. item level also has always played a huge part in PUG content. Doing the content with a guild or friends isnt a part of the conversation because with that you can bend any social rules/standards set in the game anyway.
@@shotgunammo he's talking about M+, but hell even with M0 ppl still wont take you if your gear score isn't high enough or you aren't playing a flavor of the month class. So I get what he means.
The glyphs take about 24 minutes to complete I'd you're new to them. UA-cam "Dragonriding glyphs in 22 minutes" and watch it as you fly around. Amazing and worth to do at 61.
Anyone knows anything about primalist events? I play since day 1 and didn't see a single one. Someone ingame told me they are over is it true? if yes wtf?
Getting the Glyphs using tomtom and paste for the waypoints is really easy. Takes less than 30 minutes per zone and personally, i did it upon arrival to each zone. Most of the glyphs are not hidden and easy to find. Jst plot the waypoint and you'll see it easy peasy when you get there.
The circle around your mouse pointer. Is it an addon? I would love to know the name if it is. I get my pointer lost quite easily on large scale fights , with lots of ppl and so much going on on the screen.
I unlocked glyphs right in the beginning. It was amazing how important that was. I used Zygor Guides to tell me where they all were, but I think there are online guides if you want to grind it.
is it me or youtube is not showing timestamps for theme anymore? Not sure how the feature work, but most channels I follow that usully have it are not showing the breakdown.
idk i feel like you should be able to catch up storm sigils and trophies of strife regardless how late you started seems just like borrowed power to me
2:49 "collect them all within an hour or two" It takes like 20 - 30 minutes to get all the Glyphs lol. Saying it might take two hours could discourage someone from bothering with it, especially since they don't understand how much of a buff it is to their flying. It might take two hours if you go in blind with no assistance whatsoever, no mods, no video guide etc etc.
Problem I've run into is running dungeons takes time, time you don't necessarily get a reward for. I've run every dungeon with two 70's and at most I got two pieces of gear total for each character, whilst everyone else in the dungeon gets pieces from multiple bosses, I ran a couple last night and got nothin for my time. That needs to be fixed. If you spend your time running a dungeon you should get at least one piece of gear from the last boss if you didn't get anything from an earlier boss. I have a feeling I'm going to have to rely on guaranteed sources so grinding rep & professions.
If i completeded the campaign on an already max level alt can i start the new race and take off where i left off ? I feel like id get bored asf if i had to do them all over again... adhd 😅
Every WoW UA-camr is missing one big event. The elemental chests. They drop really good gear! Ones in the timewalkers future (portal) in a cave and the other is in southern oha’rahana (I’m sure I misspelled that 😅). Besides that DO war mode! The gear is great and the quests are a lot of fun!
Honestly after quitting midway through shadowlands it feels so nice to be able to log into dragonflight and not have to grind like it's my job. I can enjoy the game at my own pace without falling behind.
Is there a fast way to gain rep with the Colbalt Assembly. I tried farming the mobs but that took forever with every 7-10 mobs might drop the rep reward
I feel like I hit maxed lvl way before I should of considering the quet line. I barely finished the first area and went to main city and was already 70 before I hit main city. Was doing all quests in the area and dungeon queing while questing.
So for a variety of reasons, I haven't been able to play WoW. For those of us who are going to be coming into the game to finally join up with friends when we are able maybe a month or two months down the line, how quickly would we be able to actually catch up and be able to participate in high end content?
Haven’t played since shadowlands, but nowadays I have a lot less time to play. I want to jump in and try wow again, but I feel like I’ll definitely get left behind, I tried keeping up the best I could in Shadowlands. hows this expansion with alts and for someone that cant get high game time weekly?
Welp I'm trying to do side quest for better gear as my lvl of gear is 322 i think having 171 k hp and trying to get better level gear & damage for primalists as im lvl 70
I thought my first fo us would be gear but then I got absolutely drawn in by doing the dragon riding races and completed all on gold. It was a lot of fun. While the azure span lag is brutal, it made getting gold on those even sweeter haha
So I’m relatively new to WoW but I’m a little confused. If the max level your showing in this video is 70, what does it mean to have a level 120 character like I’ve seen if other videos? Maybe I’m just stupid but if someone could answer I would be thankful
Every few expansions they "squish" the max level down again. I.e. they'll reset the max level from 120 to 60 with a new expansion. This just means as new expansions come out the item levels and character levels don't get too crazy, and they can tinker with the talent trees Tldr. If you see a video with a character at the max level of 120 it's from an older expansion (they've squished the max level more than once now I think)
Is there a bug with the campaign? I am level 70, 380 ilvl done all the raids, plenty of world quests and rep farming/exploring but I am stuck at 6 renown? 3/9 quests for campaign and can't go any further? No matter what I do cant seem to get renown? Anyone else experienced this?
can someone explain how the world pvp and fighting players ion war mode works? im trying to get the primal pvp gear but everytime i kill someone or do a group kill i cant loot anything idu
You don't need to loot... you acquire bloody tokens everytime you get an honorable kill in open world... I haven't played with WM on but I have enough tokens for a single buy only doing the Cobalt Assembly Arena
May have reached max level if you did side quests and exploring? I had to actively ignore side missions starting in the second zone because I was over leveled. This is the first time Blizzard has made leveling this easy.
already a bunch of stuff you can do but obviously real content starts at the 14th.. I am really happy so far, have 3 alts, no grinding involved etc. :)
He mentions getting glyphs at 70…don’t do this! Get Handynotes add on for glyph locations and spend the 45 minutes flying around the entire island and getting them all as close to level 60 as you can. It will speed up your leveling process greatly.
Dragon gliding is getting better, but so many times I want flight form to gather my weeds and can't. With both I'd use the one I want and I have p more glyphs
if it helps as long as you are putting your profession knowledge into botany once you max that out you'll be able to collect herbs without getting dismounted but I do feel your pain

You're always able to jump into mythics doesnt really matter the item level. It's just a good practice to get heroic geared first.
Meatsoup? M+ isnt even unlocked yet. M0 was always, for expansions long, easy to access from the get go without heroic gear. This did not change.
@@shotgunammo he's talking about M+, but hell even with M0 ppl still wont take you if your gear score isn't high enough or you aren't playing a flavor of the month class. So I get what he means.
Great video as always but I’m curious how the hick did you get that dragon riding cosmetic
You have the nicest plate names I’ve ever seen
Perfect! Just what I wanted. Also, you should finish all your campaigns. Or you wont be able to see the npc in Obsidian Cititdal.
If you are completely new to WOW i wonder how and where you would start with collecting (mounts, pets, toys, cosmetics etc)
The glyphs take about 24 minutes to complete I'd you're new to them. UA-cam "Dragonriding glyphs in 22 minutes" and watch it as you fly around. Amazing and worth to do at 61.
whats the armory for 3:44?
What addon is the circle around your mouse!
Raise your hand if you wasted profession knowledge on your main until you realized there is no unlearning 👋🏼
The handy notes-glyphs addons is also very nice. Puts em right on the map and mini-map.
Thanks for the video
The circle around your mouse pointer. Is it an addon? I would love to know the name if it is.
I get my pointer lost quite easily on large scale fights , with lots of ppl and so much going on on the screen.
Are the world bosses available yet? I don't see them on my map anywhere!!
What bag add on is that?
I unlocked glyphs right in the beginning. It was amazing how important that was. I used Zygor Guides to tell me where they all were, but I think there are online guides if you want to grind it.
is it me or youtube is not showing timestamps for theme anymore?
Not sure how the feature work, but most channels I follow that usully have it are not showing the breakdown.
How Do you unlock world quest? I gotta finish the campaign firstly?
What enemy plate addon is this?
How did you get your dragon to look like it does at the beginning of the video?
I think you need to get gladiator in PVP for that
You can also do the Cobalt Assembly.
he litteraly said that in the vid :P
idk i feel like you should be able to catch up storm sigils and trophies of strife regardless how late you started seems just like borrowed power to me
2:49 "collect them all within an hour or two"
It takes like 20 - 30 minutes to get all the Glyphs lol. Saying it might take two hours could discourage someone from bothering with it, especially since they don't understand how much of a buff it is to their flying.
It might take two hours if you go in blind with no assistance whatsoever, no mods, no video guide etc etc.
Do you have to complete the 4 3/3 Campaignd on alts ? Or can you skip to 5 renown somehow
what add on are you using that adds the nameplates above mobs?
Problem I've run into is running dungeons takes time, time you don't necessarily get a reward for. I've run every dungeon with two 70's and at most I got two pieces of gear total for each character, whilst everyone else in the dungeon gets pieces from multiple bosses, I ran a couple last night and got nothin for my time. That needs to be fixed. If you spend your time running a dungeon you should get at least one piece of gear from the last boss if you didn't get anything from an earlier boss. I have a feeling I'm going to have to rely on guaranteed sources so grinding rep & professions.
I ran 5 mythica today and only 2 items. It’s def a grind. I don’t see how people already are filled with the higher item level gear.
What mount is that at the start?
Put on poisons please
I was wondering where daily quests were. I didn't finish the MSQ yet.
Is there a fast way to gain rep with the Colbalt Assembly. I tried farming the mobs but that took forever with every 7-10 mobs might drop the rep reward
Great vid as always. Cheers :)
Love ur vids bro so relaxing compared to the other wow guys keep it up
yeah holy shit the tone of the other content creator is too much. This guy is so chill, well done!
I thought Sparks of Ingenuity were locked by-weekly... does it mean I will get another one today?
I feel like I hit maxed lvl way before I should of considering the quet line. I barely finished the first area and went to main city and was already 70 before I hit main city. Was doing all quests in the area and dungeon queing while questing.
TomCat’s Tour addon - makes life so much easier / glyph hunting less annoying
What's the addon with the circle under the cursor?
How does he get the circle and get it to stay around the pointer when he’s holding down the mouse click?
It’s a Weak aura
So for a variety of reasons, I haven't been able to play WoW. For those of us who are going to be coming into the game to finally join up with friends when we are able maybe a month or two months down the line, how quickly would we be able to actually catch up and be able to participate in high end content?
Haven’t played since shadowlands, but nowadays I have a lot less time to play. I want to jump in and try wow again, but I feel like I’ll definitely get left behind, I tried keeping up the best I could in Shadowlands. hows this expansion with alts and for someone that cant get high game time weekly?
Darkmoon buff makes this week a great time to level Alts
So how do we grind iskaara?
I LOVE YOU! Your video's are so good! Thank you
How do I get that dragon skin?
Welp I'm trying to do side quest for better gear as my lvl of gear is 322 i think having 171 k hp and trying to get better level gear & damage for primalists as im lvl 70
I thought my first fo us would be gear but then I got absolutely drawn in by doing the dragon riding races and completed all on gold. It was a lot of fun.
While the azure span lag is brutal, it made getting gold on those even sweeter haha
Done almost everyquest i could find. Now i am a little bored and do not know how to keep getting new rep
You rhymed so much in your intro it reminded me of Dr. Seuss lol
This just means as new expansions come out the item levels and character levels don't get too crazy, and they can tinker with the talent trees
Tldr.
I haven't played with WM on but I have enough tokens for a single buy only doing the Cobalt Assembly Arena
ty
What nameplates are you using?
Plater
Anyone know what nameplates addon theyre using? Looks clean
Most likely it's platter
What UI addon are you using? I.E the enemy nameplates etc
Platter nameplates I believe
can you solo bfa raids at 70?
As soon as you unlock Dragonriding just go around and farm all the coins first. It's well worth it.
May have reached max level if you did side quests and exploring? I had to actively ignore side missions starting in the second zone because I was over leveled. This is the first time Blizzard has made leveling this easy.
Was the same in shadowlands. But its worthless because you need to end the mainquest anyway
I screwed myself sooo bad in my professions :( I just started placing points. I didnt even know there were different talent trees.
already a bunch of stuff you can do but obviously real content starts at the 14th.. I am really happy so far, have 3 alts, no grinding involved etc. :)
Wish Blizzard would realize you can have quality AND quantity of content like in Legion, as opposed to just the latter like in Dragonflight
Did you just re-upload the video?
lol almost at 380 ilvl but still am watching all these first week guides by content creators to see if i missed anything :P
Me too
He mentions getting glyphs at 70…don’t do this! Get Handynotes add on for glyph locations and spend the 45 minutes flying around the entire island and getting them all as close to level 60 as you can. It will speed up your leveling process greatly.
very good video, mybe a bit dated but It was very helpful to this old guy gamer
Dragon gliding is getting better, but so many times I want flight form to gather my weeds and can't. With both I'd use the one I want and I have p more glyphs
if it helps as long as you are putting your profession knowledge into botany once you max that out you'll be able to collect herbs without getting dismounted but I do feel your pain
