One thing I'd like to share is about Artisan Acuity in TWW (the new Mettle). It seems to be still used in creating ALL profession tools, just like it is used for Profession Tools in DF, with a tad less requirements. What I noticed is that enchants aren't (yet) available for TWW Profession Tools, and thus far no Acuity is required in enchanting the tools. Also, I am not seeing it used in Inscription as much as Mettle is used in Inscription in DF. However, Alchemy Cauldrons do seem to use quite a bit. I use TSM premium, not CraftSim (found that addon too bloated), so I am adding Mettle and Acuity into my groups, my custom price sources, and operations. Is Alliance + Horde alt composition a good idea (for max crafting bonus and optimization) in TWW for a Horde dominant realm like Draenor? or should I just stick to Horde only? I'm a bit confused 🤔😕
Only issue you would have as an alliance toon is if you are advertising in trade chat to do work orders... Trade chat is still (and basically the only thing) faction divided. However, if you advertised on a horde toon, someone wants to order something, they can still send private orders to the opposite faction, and you can log over to that toon to complete it.
Peng, quick question: Say you want to setup to be nearly self sufficent in all your crafts (having all work orders needed filled by my alts), how many crafters for each profession would you make? 4 blacksmiths, for example?
You can learn all specializations of a profession on one toon, it just takes time due to the Knowledge Point limit each week. Only reason why youd want to double up outside of Alt Army/cooldown crafts is if you really need specific items fast. In that case, youll need multiple blacksmiths, tailors, etc.
Very informative. I do have a question, how relevant is blacksmithing for the actual game? Like, can you craft actual useful gear for let's say PvE and so on?

If you don’t have a lot of gold, having gathering professions to get some gold at the beginning is very nice ( assuming you’ll take the time to gather). I wouldn’t think of the gathering professions as feeder professions tho, you’ll never be able to gather as many materials as you need and you should be buying from the AH. In terms of grouping professions based on your character armor type, that’s all personal preference. My main is a monk who’s also my tailor/enchanter. My leather worker is a paladin.
Hi Penguin, Thinking about the recommendation for dracthyr double gathering. Would you say that the benefits of them double gathering outweigh the benefits of a Druid double gathering for that time saving insta mount?
May i ask what's a good pair for inscription? I paired my enchanting and tailoring in dragonflight so they together now. i have been thinking alchemy but that seems like to big professions on one char. Plus the concentration needed to make their crafts.
If you want to learn the basics (what Multicraft is, what resourcefulness is, etc. or how specializations/KPs look) you can definitely check out my Dragonflight Prep playlist. That would give you a good baseline on what to expect with TWW with some minor changes. For example, Inspiration exists in Dragonflight, but it is being replaced by Ingenuity in TWW (my 10 TWW profession changes video goes over those things). Many specialization trees are the same in terms of items, just might be dispersed differently. If you want to compare what TWW vs. DF specs looks like, here is Wowhead's tool of TWW specializations: www.wowhead.com/beta/profession-tree-calc/blacksmithing
Awesome video, very informative and well explained. However, I couldn't find these "friends" you mentioned anywhere in my inventory. Is there a vendor for this or perhaps craftable? lol
Haha glad it was helpful!! I’m not sure about a vendor of friends….. that might be hard to find… but come join the Discord and myself (if you’re NA) and/or others could help you out getting your goblin teleported in!
Hi Penguin, would you recommend getting the same profession on 2 characters so you can specialise in both options? I am an extreme veteran player and due to family commitments (having children etc and working) i have taken a massive back seat the last few expansions and i am now fully wanting to immerse myself back into Wow. Particularly gold making. I understand that there is a lot to think about etc. i am massive collector of everything and a bit of an achievement/ recipe fanatic. Just looking your 2 cents on this.
Some people may decide to cover the same profession on two/three toons to unlock specific recipes fast (for example someone may decide to focus on profession tools specializations on one character while doing something else on another so they can make tools for themselves and also focus on goldmaking items), but its not necessary for most people. At the end of the day, you can and will unlock everything as you collect Knowledge Points. Its really just up to you and how much time/how willing you are to do all your weekly tasks on each toon each week
Do you have a guide for buying from Action House into crafting then into selling to make gold? I am a new player and i find it hard to check all videos and i don't know how to start. I find your channel very good and i would love to get a reply from you. Thanks!
Thanks for the comparison and the really helpful information! I really appreciate how you put the content together. One question: for TWW, Warbands become more important and so it pretty much doesn't matter which race/faction is represented. I would now like to put together my alt army and am considering creating Horde & Alliance based on profession bonuses as combinations via MoP Remix on my main server. Do you recommend this? My understanding is that by now it doesn't matter and having them all on one server would be helpful. Currently I have Horde & Alliance chars spread out on corresponding servers.
I guess I answered myself: "Warband characters can be selected from any characters on an account, including cross-Faction, cross-Subscription, and cross-Realm, but NOT cross Region" and so for the bank in my assumtion. SO I might stay with having my Alt spread across both servers and having a clear character structure for factions. Am I right?
Warbands will make it so that is basically doesnt matter where your toons are/what faction they are. The only thing to note is that Trade Chat is still faction specific (while basically everything else isnt). So lets say you want to do crafting orders, you CAN complete a Horde player's order, but you wont be able to advertise to them in trade chat. This would be a big deal if you happen to be Alliance on a Horde dominated server as you will have less customers from trade.
I dont know of anything that tracks learned recipes across alts/current knowledge points (maybe Altoholic tracks specializations? Idk, im not an Altoholic user), but there are weak auras that track weekly knowledge points that you need to collect for each toon
Account wide renown is one of the best changes for me. I have many profession alts with lacking profession recipes because i could not be bothered to farm renown on every char so this is just so big QoL for me.
We don't know the specifics yet due to beta still changing, but at the very least youll be able to save some spec points and gain a bit of an advantage when leveling early on
How do you guys keep flying while leveling Herb/Mining? If you have both you will be stopping constantly and I would always run out of the power charges for Flying. Also I would see some ore then when i land it phases out and I cant get it. I dropped them as it was too annoying. How do u guys deal with this?
Thank you Penguin for such a great video! Really love that :) I have one question, is it still a good idea now to combine two professions in one character? More professions means more AA to be spent (on receipe and knowledge points), if I buy knowledge points book for Enchant maybe I will not have enough AA to buy the books for Blacksmith on the same character. On the other hand more professions means more AA income as well for filling NPC orders for both professions, so I'm kinda confused what should I do here, should one character only learn one profession or two? thank you!
Really depends on you. 2 professions generate more Acuity than 1 profession, but then you likely will need to decide what profession to spend it on first. Ideally, you could have a main profession and side profession set up on each toon, then use all the acuity you gain on the main profession. Issue with this method is the time investment. There are 8 crafting professions, meaning you need 8 toons and you will be keeping up with 16 professions (the 8 main and the 8 sides). You can of course do this if you have the time, but its not worth burning yourself out over. I personally have 4 main crafters and will just choose a profession to dedicate more time to... that generally happens anyways based on prices/profits.
Hello, do you have a recommendation for only 2 characters? I thought my main will get gathering and the other one a good easy profession combo to make gold? ( I'm just not sure what to pick since I never did crafting before)
yo penguin, nice vid... can you say something about crafting tools from DF? do thy get replaced early on in warwithin, or are they legit for longer? planing to cover up all professions; but dont have equiped all with crafting tools yet... so just asking if its neccessary..
Isnt warband limited to 4 chars per realm? So only like those 4 would benefit from that shared renown etc? Also my main is orc hunter and I thought about going for alchemy and enginering on him for utility and double flask time? Would it be good or better to pair enginering with something else on main, im curious how much that extra time is worth compared to like skinning maybe since im gonna kill a lot on main or enchanting since it will get a lot of items from dungs etc... I also have pure gatherer dracthyr and goblin rogue where I thought I would go tailoring/lw and for 4th char i cant decide whoch professions i want to got could u help me maybe with that main and 4th character professions decision?
Your Warband is your entire account! I believe you are mixing up your favorites list on the main menu. That favorites list is limited to 4 and is basically your "quick access" to your most played characters. But all toons on your account are linked. Professions pairings really dont matter - that depends on your playstyle. Best advice I can give is to try to cover all professions
@@Penguinr2gt oh I never really dived into that then if its for whole account irs great! I know it doesnt matter but like on char where I would grind the most do m+ raids and stuff which professions would be most beneficial?
herbing/mining on main over alt thoughts? or is it a ton better to have it on alt? Iam really pondering main being gatherer as hes out in open more than rest. Then have the alts craft? My main is an earthen (once i can change) enhance shaman
It really just depends on you. If you are actually going to get out there and spend time gathering/exploring, sure have it as your main toon. If you don't really think you'll use it, then stick it on an alt/don't gather at all. Lots of people like to put Blacksmithing or Alchemy, etc. on their main toons for their stat bonuses (easy repairs, longer potions, etc.)
Hey Penguin :) First of all thank you for the amazing content! I got one question: I got a lot of professions maxed out on different alts during Dragonflight. Since I am swapping main and alts I am going to play for raiding, I also thought about profession swaps on different alts. Do I lose any progression of rerolling a profession before tww? Any negative points to mention by ,,deleting“ a maxed out profession? Sorry for my english, I am not a native speaker :) Wish you a good week :)
Thank you for watching! If you can, I would try to avoid deleting a profession and replacing it (try to make an alt instead) since you will lose all progress outside of your Dragonflight specializations. So any old world recipes, levels, etc are gone
Hi .. im new at game, and was thinking to start crafting. Should i start lvling or are they going to reset profession for TWW? I really dont know what to do.
It’s just what I ended up picking up when I started professions back a few expansions ago. I actually used to main my Hunter (my engineer, alchemist) and had alchemy as my first ever goldmaking profession… later switched to a monk (my current main) who had enchanting/tailoring
I love the video and have a question!!! So I really want the mythic fyrakk mount but Its costing upwards of 3-6mill for it...would I be able to make that before the war within and what would you recommend I do to try? I hate going out and farming but ill do it if needed 😅
If you don't have any goldmaking experience, it will be very very hard to make 4-6 million in about 1.5 months. I would say it is a very unrealistic goal. However, if you are interested in making gold in the future, the best time to start is now. Since DF is slowly dying out and TWW is near, I'd highly recommend looking into low cost, high profit old world profession items. My recent video before I started TWW content will be perfect for you.
good job on this vid. at the moment, im still not sure which goldmaking im gonna do 1st when TWW release. i still cant decide to go for dual gatherer or my skinning guy. since theyre not my main. anyone have any prediction how much one ore gonna sell during release?
Prices are always very very high and then start to drastically drop within a few hours. If you really want to try and get a few quick sales, bring a gatherer in. If you want to shoot for some early basic crafted sales (bags, etc.), I'd just take your main in as hitting level 80 will be very important for professions and alts
@@Penguinr2gt im gonna go with my monk (skinning + leather, but i think i will drop lw and go for enchanting). plus im ready for hyperspawn farm (yeah monk totem) thx for the advice penguin
Fyi for your racials spreadsheet. KT - is good for Tailoring/Leatherworking since there is no other bonus for those either way. Earthen give 2% finesse, so gathering - not sure if it is worth it. Lightforge Draenai - you can comfortably skip and go DiD. Extra crafting speed is infinitely more useful than a forge. HMT - also gives more meat and fish.
I made 38M in season one of DF, I am not changing my setup! Reputation is not going to impact your professions, but rare drops from bosses will. You still want to have your main gold maker setup on your main character, not alts.
I wont be touching gathering this xpac. With region wide materials (and bots that are always in the good spots) the prices wont be nearly as insane as before and having good crafting has much more gold potential long term.
If everyone is thinking like this, the opposite will be true, which is why on a long enough timeframe and with high enough participants supply and demand for materials will always equalize
Good question! Mechagnomes allow you to be more portable (you are a portable cooking fire, forge and anvil) so if you are a blacksmith that can be useful but if you are truly min/maxing it’s better to go for the skill points
Are you planning to do a video where you talk about what specializations within the professions you think will be best for gold making ?
Yea! I am planning to do a video for each profession (very similar to my DF breakdown ones)… just waiting for beta to be more refined

May i ask what's a good pair for inscription? I paired my enchanting and tailoring in dragonflight so they together now. i have been thinking alchemy but that seems like to big professions on one char. Plus the concentration needed to make their crafts.
Hi. Are your old profession guides still viable? I never touched professions in dragonflight but I heard they’re reworking them a little in tww?
Love your content !!!
Thank you for watching it!
Would you still recommend Dracthyr over Earthen for a double gatherer character?
Yes, especially in the long run, I would prefer getting more rare materials than more standard materials
Nice vid thanks! Im new to WOW
Welcome! I hope you've enjoyed WoW so far!
Thanks!

@@Penguinr2gt thank you very much! It was so helpful!
I guess I answered myself:
"Warband characters can be selected from any characters on an account, including cross-Faction, cross-Subscription, and cross-Realm, but NOT cross Region" and so for the bank in my assumtion.
Is there any addons that would help to keep track with what recipes and knowledge levels you have on what alt?
I dont know of anything that tracks learned recipes across alts/current knowledge points (maybe Altoholic tracks specializations? Idk, im not an Altoholic user), but there are weak auras that track weekly knowledge points that you need to collect for each toon
Account wide renown is one of the best changes for me. I have many profession alts with lacking profession recipes because i could not be bothered to farm renown on every char so this is just so big QoL for me.
It definitely is huge for the goldmaking scene as well as collectors. I am very happy about it!
Are racials +5 profession skill bonuses that important for high end crafting you think ?
We don't know the specifics yet due to beta still changing, but at the very least youll be able to save some spec points and gain a bit of an advantage when leveling early on
How do you guys keep flying while leveling Herb/Mining? If you have both you will be stopping constantly and I would always run out of the power charges for Flying.
Also I would see some ore then when i land it phases out and I cant get it. I dropped them as it was too annoying. How do u guys deal with this?
Your specializations unlock the ability to stay mounted
@@Penguinr2gt I mean yeah, but you run out of charges to flay fast. Is everyone using the slower flight to gather?
@@Penguinr2gt that makes lots of sense, thank you! :)
wouldnt be a penguin video without some discussion around bags ; )
Of course!
You will almost immediately get TWW tools, then later upgrade them to their rare/blue quality versions
@@Penguinr2gt thx for the answer
Thanks for the goblin racial tip, never thought of that one
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
If you want bonuses outside of crafting, then alchemy/engineering can be good for potion duration and ultilities
herbing/mining on main over alt thoughts? or is it a ton better to have it on alt? Iam really pondering main being gatherer as hes out in open more than rest. Then have the alts craft? My main is an earthen (once i can change) enhance shaman
It really just depends on you. If you are actually going to get out there and spend time gathering/exploring, sure have it as your main toon. If you don't really think you'll use it, then stick it on an alt/don't gather at all. Lots of people like to put Blacksmithing or Alchemy, etc. on their main toons for their stat bonuses (easy repairs, longer potions, etc.)
Hey Penguin :)
First of all thank you for the amazing content!
Sorry for my english, I am not a native speaker :)
Wish you a good week :)
All expansions are completely independent from each other
wouldn't it make most sense to have herb/ mining on your main?
Depends on if you are going to go gathering or not
finally creating alts made sense
Whats the resson for tsilor snd enchanting on your main ot is it just vompletly random
It’s just what I ended up picking up when I started professions back a few expansions ago. I actually used to main my Hunter (my engineer, alchemist) and had alchemy as my first ever goldmaking profession… later switched to a monk (my current main) who had enchanting/tailoring
Penguin please if your read this try to make video showing which emblishement may be biss for classes and best item crafted will be like lariat .
I personally wait for the BiS lists to be released by Wowhead/Icy Veins, but as soon as I have a plan/ideas I will let everyone know!
@@Penguinr2gt appreciate your work thank you !
Can you transfer currency between alliance and horde characters or only within faction?
Does anyone know if we will be again be able to mine and herb while mounted?
It is unlockable through specializations just like Dragonflight
@@Penguinr2gt thanks!
Does anyone know if Rank 5 Public Work Orders will exist in TWW, or are they still capped at Rank 4?
You cannot request a specific quality in public orders, you can select quality 5 as minimum in private orders
What is DiD?
@@zenwilds2911 Dark Iron Dwarf.
I can't get myself to do inscription, engineering and gathering professions xD 20x Alchemy/Tailoring should do the trick + all armor professions
Good luck!
I made 38M in season one of DF, I am not changing my setup!
Reputation is not going to impact your professions, but rare drops from bosses will. You still want to have your main gold maker setup on your main character, not alts.
So whats your setup? If you dont mind sharing with a new player 😅
You have the best videos
Thank you so much for watching!
So the basically the grind is the same instead of farming on one character you will need to farm on one and alts
Please make a video about Blasphemite
Coming soon!
I enjoyed mechagnomes being their own crafting tools, tables before dragonflight. It doesn’t look like they will get anything in tww sadly. 🤷♂️
I'll be making a Gob for prepatch leveling. 👺
i put knoiwlege in wrong tree, so bad you cannot reset them...
Wich profissional do u recomend to + Skinning, and make a video builds about each professions pls!
Goblin hunter now farming meta. Discounts and bank access.
Mechagnomes aren't mentioned at all. No appropriate racial?
Good question! Mechagnomes allow you to be more portable (you are a portable cooking fire, forge and anvil) so if you are a blacksmith that can be useful but if you are truly min/maxing it’s better to go for the skill points
