- In this video I discuss how to tie up a drop shot rig. This rig is effective for numerous species including but not limited to Smallmouth Bass, Sheepshead and Largemouth bass. A list of equipment I use will be down below with links to websites.
Fluorocarbon: Red label Seaguar, XPS KVD Signature Fluorocarbon
Hook: Drop shot (Priority Choice!!!!!), or Octopus - Спорт
after drawing the knot up tight you need to run the tag end back down the hook eye to make the hook stand straight out from the line then place your desired weight on the tag end. This is how I have seen it tied and I think this way is the better way to ensure your hook stands out from the line.
Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try.
That 2nd run through the eyelet is normally done with a Palomar knot. This is a dropper rig commonly used in saltwater fishing. Still a good knot.
Thank you #1 fan
Thanks for watching bud appreciate all the support!
Thanks for sharing ...awesome job
No problem hope it helps!
Awesome, thanks 👍
No problem, glad it helped.
Thank you. Good tip.
No problem glad it helped!
Make it 30 inches from the weight and use a floating lure
I usually vary the depth based on what's on bottom as far as rock, weed, etc. and overall time of year. A floating bait is defiantly ideal I agree, I have heard people use wacky rigged seniors this way too.
Fell asleep 3 times
If you're able to tie a drop shot and got a nap in you got a 2 for the price of 1 in a video. Thank you for watching! :)
Couldn't see shit
Sorry about that I'll try using like a dock line or something more visible next time I do a tutorial. I appreciate the feedback!
@@Drewsfishingtrips Darker background that contrasts with the line color will make it stand out better on video. Also, wet the knot before drawing it up tight to avoid line burn in the knot.
Good tips, Appreciate it!
