After getting this Toro Z2550 to finally fire and run on starter fluid, it was time to fix all of the other issues on the machine! This included a tank drain, a carb swap and a few other minor things to get this machine ready to go again. In this video I finish it up and get it ready to go again for the customer! - Авто та транспорт
I enjoyed watching, you fixing the engines.
I worked on a 23 horse Courage like that one that had been run so hot it blew both head gaskets. On further inspection both heads were found to be warped. I plained them with sandpaper on a piece of glass and reassembled with new updated gaskets. It would run for about a minute then backfire and die. That turned out to be a weak coil that would quit when it got warm. That dead cylinder would then dump raw gas into the muffler, backfire, and kill the engine. It finally ran after fixing that. This Courage you worked on looks like somebody's kid may have put water in the gas tank while playing "gas station". You see it all when you work on other people's lawn equipment.
Great Great Great 👍 📹 Video!!!!!!
Nice work getting it going, definitely looked like a doozy!
It was!
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
This unit certainly was an adventure alright! It fought you every step of the way. People also need to check their gas cans, cause water can build up in them over time, until your pouring 50% water into your tanks. Many of times the water can come from the gas station of all places. But yeah, I think Kohler is a garbage brand, just going off of how many of times you've had to fix flywheel magnets. But since Briggs & Honda are no more, what does that leave you? Kohler, Kawasaki, & Chinese clones. Of course Toro is not going to put any Kawasaki engines on their cheap machines, you'd have to go commercial to see that. Kohler is good about throwing coils, regulators, magnets, spewing oil, you name it.
Could the timing be off a little bit? I didn't see if you had the flywheel off to check that? I'm guessing you had the head off the valves were set on both heads? I'll have to find part 1 and review the video that may answer my questions.
I enjoy watching your content, and I learn something new from them.
Didn't appear to be a timing issue, it starts right up with the bump of a key even when cold. Didn't take off the flywheel since it was charging and runs good now. Part 1 is a doozy if you want to watch that!
I’ve seen corrosion on an engine block that looked like white powder from a unit that was stored in a metal building with a dirt floor. The moisture was so bad that the electric PTO was rust welded together and the blades were turning when I tried to start it. I’m guessing that’s probably what happened to this machine.
Good job
