This Toro Z2550 was stored up for a little while and the owner wanted to get it back going again. He put a new battery in it but the starter broke off at the top of the shaft. Turns out, the engine is completely seized! In this video I attempt to free it up and get it back running again. Will I be successful in the endeavor? - Авто та транспорт
Had the exact same symptoms. Broken off, then put one on it the same, broke it off, then found one on a spare engine, with less teeth, worked like a champ :)
When there really cleaned up I expect it a flood unit 😢😢

You should have checked the compression before you ever tried to start it. Especially in the right cylinder where all the rust was. Also a little tip on the jump box. You don't have to go straight to the battery you can hook to the selanoid or the cold side of the starter and ground it to the engine.

Check the electrical clutch for rust??? It will make it drag also

Hey check the spark to plugs. ???? And unplug the coils ???
Think there is a starter available with one less tooth, that will fix that starter issue. Count the teeth on the starter, i believe there is a 10 tooth and a 9
You should stick to the three basics fuel, compression, spark.
Would have been better to over fill the oil a little to lube and wash it good, then drain a couple of times

I have a question, I have a Kohler 24hp kt735,and I been running with lose of power for a month , I replaced the carb twice and messed with the throttle/choke cable, I put the spark tester and got not light up, and replaced the coil Tuesday, set the gap, and then started it up , it ran so beautiful but soon within about 6 minutes or so, started smelling a burning rubber, plastic or something smell, then started seeing smoke from that right side cylinder. Could it be just old fuel that ended up being trapped in that space and trying to burn off since it hasn't worked in over a month?
Yes the exhaust is probably caked with oil and unburnt fuel, it will eventually clear up as it burns off.
The engine is junk period
