Battery is shocking. Had it sent it back to sigma after 2weeks. Fully connected to PM and HM lasting just over 5hr. Contacted hammerhead and told me to turn down brightness and turn off bluetooth. As ever tho sigma were brilliant and gave me a full refund.

Phenomenal device. I absolutely love mine. There isn't a computer on the market that comes close to the mapping capabilities of the Karoo 2. I really can't wait to push it on some bike packing adventures!
Can it actually route though? I mean I am out somewhere, want to go somewhere i only know the name of, can the device take me there? Can it actually work for navigation? I know from every single review that it can follow a preloaded route.. who cares. Can it route?
@@kidShibuya It can reroute from a preloaded route very well. If you insert a SIM card into the back of it, then it can route on the fly. I've tested both features and it works very well.
Have u noticed any short commings since Sram took over Hammerhead Karoo ...?? Apparently Shimano asked Sram 2 or Shimano them selves removed Di2 functionality
@@robertphillips3078 I don't use Di2 so no issues for me. I ride 105 and SRAM Force on my bikes.
Coming from a Garmin edge 830, the Karoo 2 is not quite perfect but step up. Love mine.
Would be OK except the Karoo has been ostracized by Shimano , since Sram bought out Hammerhead . Heaven knows what the pro Peleton may do now

I use it for 300km but return it and go back to Wahoo Roam. A lot of problems with UI, sounds alerts and also navigation.
Computer is almost perfect BUT the mounts break easily, you'll have complaints at Sigma. At least use the strap around the bars to secure the computer so it doesn't hit the ground, and buy some stronger, less brittle mounts. Even the 1/4 turn part adapter part is weak. There are companies online that can provide good quality ones, I don't want to promote here but there is a nice Facebook page for Karoo users ;-) nice presentation video !

Great review Lucy and having always gone back to Garmin the cycle has finally been broken (excuse the pun). The Karoo2 is leaps ahead routing wise and the evolution and updates from Hammerhead are like clock work and simply work. This is a real game changer in the market and with the likes of Chris Froome being on the advisory board we've already seen updates to individual power L/R the climber feature and I'm guessing more in the pipe. Connectivity is easy and improvements to ANT+ certainly help this and the new style mount address the constant hum/rattle and flakey feeling you get on the qtr turn mounts especially when using the buttons. Very much worth considering if you are in the market and don't be put off if you've not come across HammerHead or Karoo till now

I still struggle with the weight difference regarding a Wahoo.
Really? But can you notice a few grams. I don’t even notice two full drink bottles versus none.
@@ytwos1 At the end of the day it's about the amount of additional weight.
It’s a very nice device. However they need to address some problems ( and then I’ll bite and move from the Roam)
1. No auto lap ( either time, distance or GPS for crits). That has been a wish from users ever since it’s launch.
2. Assioma dou looses connection when paused for a while, then you have to clear all devises and the reconnect ( pedals, radar and scosche rhythm 24).
3. No connection to phone or live tracking via Bluetooth.
4. Battery life. Way to short when all things connected (even with ANT+).
Which is a shame , because it’s wonderful for navigation, and I love the features on climbing are second to none.
Hi I bought the Karoo2 and i was today on my first ride and on my way I wanted change my destination but i couldn’t because i was offline . So my question is how can i or if can i put new destination if im offline?? Otherwise the device absolutly useless
You need to create hotspot on phone or use SIM card.🤷♂️

Still miles off a Garmin Edge if you use your computer for training rather than navigation.
- No autolap function
- No crash alert function
- 1/2 battery life of Garmin
- No auto brightness functionality
- Limited profile config (just screen setup)
- No phone data connection (really!?)
