Its hard to beat the bowline for a knot and its abilities, many ways to tie it with twist/variations. I've tied them into 3" tow straps and still was able to pick them apart after heavy repeated loading. Worst is a wet line that froze, that is tough for any knot.

Absolutely. It's never good to be wet, tight and/or frozen, but if you have to be, then the bowline is your best bet to get undone! Thanks for commenting!
