      Apple should definitely buy a couple of triple-A game companies to make native games. Hell, they could buy Nintendo if they wanted to. They have a massive library of games that could be ported over.

      With PCs, they will add water-cooling, fans and big heatsinks, ect... so this is impressive doing all this without all that, but what will happen if you add something like laptop cooler and then playing Witcher or if using Mac Mini M1 a fan base and opening the cover on the bottom. amzn.to/36MylMN

    • @arkhalis3682
      @arkhalis3682 3 роки тому +28

      @@slipoch6635 Eh
      The reason Apple does not allow sideloading on iOS is, not because of ARM. Nope. Sideloading has nothing to do with Architecture.
      The reason they want to prevent sideloading on iOS is probably because of bullshit excuses by Apple like "Because of security" or something like that. But the real reason most likely is that most iPhone users are money hogs and preventing sideloading will force the iPhone users to pay for paid apps and Apple will get the sweet 30% share from the paid app. It all comes down to money
      The mac userbase however usually consists of professionals who sometimes HAVE to sideload various apps for professional-grade tasks. Apple can't simply strip this functionality away since they'll lose a huge chunk of users then. It has nothing to do with x86 or ARM.

    The lagging in the crossover games is likely due to DXVK, Vulcan needs to build up a cache of shaders the first time it sees them. Over time as this cache is more complete you'll see less and less of these drops until you have a 100% cache coverage.

    Tried Diablo 3 on MBP M1 with 16GB RAM. The game overall played quite smoothly, I noticed a few dropped frames every now and then, but overall an enjoyable experience. The computer lasted for like 2-3 hours of play on battery until it asked to be charged, so definitely drained the battery, the laptop was hot and the fan was running, but not at full blast like a 2020 MBA (Intel) I returned that went full blast with a Zoom call... the M1 was quiet and had to get my ear near the fan to notice it was on. Would definitely recommend to play Diablo 3 this game in MBP.

    Allright, got mine today with 16 gigs of RAM on board. And oh my! This is the first Macbook that actually can be treated as a gaming machine, I can tell you that. You can compare it to a 3-4 years old gaming high-end PC notebook. And by high-end I mean high-end. I have few Alienwares 17, one with a GTX 1080, one with a GTX 1070 and some older Aliens with lower specs. For gaming I use a desktop with an RTX 3080. Why am I saying this? Because I'm a true gamer and for me it was a real pain that I couldn't play games on a decent quality level on my Mac. But as I have a really nice comparison with PC gaming setups I must say I'm impressed with the M1 chip. It's just awesome! And I have tested two demanding games without native M1 support, needed to install Rosetta. Doesn't seem to affect the performance, didn't observe any input lag and... to my surprise I was able to play these games with above Full HD resolution (2048x1280) and get decent framerates on high settings. Wow! And it didn't even get too hot, though the fan was spinning (but with very low noise). On my previous Macbook these games were able to run in 640x480 on low settings. I'd say the M1 chip is something close to a mobile GTX 1070 - that's the kind of performance I get on it with Rosetta, so it's more than I have expected. Apple did a great job with this chip, really great. Now I'm downloading some more games from Steam to check them out and will try something that supports the M1 chip, but if you think of gaming, yes, the new Macbook Pro is just the best Mac you can get for this kind of money and you can really play games on it without much compromise, with good resolution, nice graphic settings and with decent (above 30fps) framerates. Best Mac in years, I don't need to carry two laptops with me if I wanna play on the go.
