A lot of benefits. Supposedly Solid money. And you get to take your anger and shame out on children who are generally smaller. Now I say that knowing that the vast vast vast majority of teachers are good, hard-working, caring, supportive people. But every once in a while, you get somebody who’s despicable behavior makes up for everybody else being a good teacher.

"I'm not some kind of pussy." There's an immature part of me that's glad that there's a very real sliver of Fletcher/Jameson/Omni-Man inside of J.K. Simmons.
*EDIT:* As of November 30th, 2023 (with help from the replies), there's also a very real sliver of...
    Cave Johnson
    Vernon Schillinger
    Kai from Kung Fu Panda
*EDIT 2:* December 2nd, 2023. It's also been brought to my attention that he's Ketheric Thorm.
    *EDIT 3:* December 5th, 2023. There's also...
    Stanford Pines
    Tenzin
...and a brief stint as Commissioner Gordon in Justice League.
There's almost no role he's played where he isn't some kind of badass, so maybe just cite any character from his filmography.

I've got rock bottom twice in my life. First time was after I moved out of my mom's house (in a rather cowardly way, basically just dropped a note saying I'm moving out love ya) well I was a young and dumb 18yo who thought I could make it.
    I did not make it.
I ended up living in my 91 cavalier, begging my mom to let me do work around her house to make a buck, digging through dumpsters and trash for cans to turn in. I eventually got a job and moved into a finished basement apartment with 3 other until a Fire Marshal had us evicted due to the apartment being illegal (only 1 fire escape)
Second time was while I was in the Army. I'm pretty strong mentally but every day for year after years of being made to feel like no matter how proficient I was at my MOS I was never good enough, and they were sending me to train other platoons in different brigades across the post. I was an e4 holding the position and responsibilities an e7 in my platoon. Finely I had enough, I fastened my belt around my neck, tied a knot on the other end and threw it over my door and closed it. I'm only here now because my belt broke.

There’s an argument to be made about how far are we gonna let kids go with their mistakes. You need to make them in order to grow up and do better but good god man that’s years of your life you throw away. Ones that could have brought you where you are now, years ago. I’m 19 and I consider myself pretty mature for my age, but seeing everyone around me and my age make the same dumb mistakes they’re gonna regret is just sad. I’d like to say it’s almost neglectful on the parent’s part but what are you gonna do, force them to stay at 18? Tell them to gain work and life experience? They don’t want to hear it. I hope all the old heads can help the younger people out here struggling. Seems as much as time passes and we grow wisdom, it keeps getting lost on the new generation.
