  • Go back in time with me to February, 2015 to the global press introduction of the then truly all-new YZF-R1. Yamaha Motor hosted the test at Australia’a Sydney Motorsports Park, only inviting a select few journalists to ride its latest master piece. Follow along as we recall what happened during this one-of-a-lifetime trip to the land down under to wail on Yamaha’s latest and greatest superbike.

    Excellent throw back video and review of the amazing R1! I 👀 that you rode the R1M as well, it's my favorite bike and I'm looking forward to getting a 2018 R1M soon!

    Changing the pads helps on the front brakes. I love my R1M. I had a '16 then an '18 with blipper and EC2 Ohlins. Pure fun.

    Dig the throw backs... My home track on this one too. Not very often they use it in that full configuration though, its like a fast flowing gp track and the extra section is tight and twisty.

    Adam great video! I am sure that I did see you at a very rainy British MotoGP and your crocodile Dundee hat was blown off in the wind and my mate picked it up for you (the army guy) wasn’t until after I realised it was you! Gutted should have got a pic with you mate

    Well i had my 2016 for the third season now and i still love it. Mine is stock so i still have a bit of jerky throttle i know i could fix it with a pipe and a tune but sweden tracks are anal about the 95db and the bike cant make 95db even stock so no point in changing exhaust... Im thinking about changing to a 2018 to the the blipper and better throttle but i dont like the euro4 rules so i dont know what to do.. As always good work with your videos!

      How does your bike handle I'm wondering do you really need the r1m for just the street.. I like the matt black shame they dont do the raven paint job in the UK

    • @Shooter7250
      @Shooter7250 4 роки тому

      @@smokey9063 i use mine ocassionally on track, used stiffer spring and skf valves on the front. ohlins shock on the rear (which i think helps a lot). You dont need ohlins to go fast, you need ohlins to feel safe and in control unless you are stupid fast then its a must. bike felt good out of the box i just felt like the rebound on the rear was too fast and the progressive springs on the front arent the best for trail braking. Abs removed 2 week in. Keep in mind aftermarket ohlins and non electronic ones are better for performance. the electronic r1m suspension is good for the street because you can save diferent profiles for diferent types of riding soft/harder for example.
