I just got a 2020 R3 last Sept and I LOVE it! I have had 600's and 750's and ridden all over the world, but this thing is the most fun I've had! I live outside of Knoxville, TN and the riding here in the mountains is incredible while on this bike. Adam has 100% hit the nail on the head in this video.
Awesome track footage. I love seeing you rip ‘em around tracks and seeing what they are capable of. Big ones and little ones! What about the upcoming CB300R, that would be cool as well. Looks like a neat little bike that would make a great inexpensive 2nd around town and back road monster. Keep them coming Adam!
Awesome vid Adam! I've been doing track days for three yrs. & wish I would've started out on a 300 instead of a 750 for all the reasons you mentioned. That R3 is way more practical & fun for street riding than a bigger supersport is. It was fun watching & listening to your commentary, great job!
I'm pretty sure that my next bike is going to be an R3.. I like the mid-size and smaller displacement bikes because, as you said, you can really push them to their limits and get that feeling of riding the bike with all its got. You guys are pretty good riders.. looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for the video.
we definitely need your take on the current ninja 400 vs r3 video. road and track perspective. #makeithappenplease Long time fan, you riding is inspiring.
So much fun content, I feel like I'm riding with you haha. 8:56 Adam just chillin on the throttle :D ...I can't speak for everybody but I think your audience would love some kind of tutorial for sports/track riding. throttle/body position/preparation, those sort of stuff :)
Hi Adam, love all your videos man. Please do a video on trail breaking, when you have a chance. I hope to meet you some day. I’m from Minnesota too, just moved out of that frozen tundra.
Hey.. you said "You learn not to make mistakes on these little things.. because Mistakes come quick on these little things" I thought they were more forgiving than higher CC bikes? Would you mind elaborating?
I own a Tuono V4 now and thinking of doing more track days. Should i buy a used R3 or use the Tuono for track days? R3 will cost me about €4000 - €5000. Crashing the Tuono maybe €2000 - €3000?
Are you riding with stock rearsets and without raising them? Are you scraping the foot pegs? Curious because I couldn't drag my knee on the track before my footpeg. I just now ordered a norton riser kit.
Hey Adam, I really admire your riding skills and knowledge, thanks for all your contributions to motorcycle community. Can you guide me a little bit, I have a R3 for about a year now, been to 2 Yamaha Champ schools (rode a lot 20 years ago, then career and family but back into it); feeling more confident. What would be a good bike to go to from here? I'm 50% track and 50% street (but weekend, country riding, don't commute on my bike)...thanks so much for your time and anticipated response!
engine smoothness of r3 versus ninja 400 ? Have R3 and find R3 engine soooo smooth. Concerned about additional vibration on Ninja 400 that have read about.
From what I gather on the RC390, it's got more juice but it's high maintenance (valve clearances wander out of spec often). The Ninja 400 is premium mediocrity, in that it's has a heavier curb weight with not much more umph. The CBR300RR is a well rounded machine, but week in power. The R3 falls in the middle, so it strikes me as the most balanced bike. Again, this is based from what I've read.
Mostly comes down to what you prefer and the look of the bikes. If you re taller though the yamaha will definitely be more comfortable for commuting and it corners a little better than the kawi
MotoBoy , true story, On two wheels, good video but was mostly a drag race and spec comparo between the 390 and the 400. I would like to see a track lapping showdown. Have I missed a video like that?
MotoBoy, I think I saw that one. I suppose I would like to see specifically how the r3 would stack up on the track. Ari is definitely a good reference there as he raced the RC for quite a while, but switched to an R3 now I believe? Different videos seem to disagree on which is better on track between the R3 and Rc.

Right on!
I feel like I'm riding with you trying to pass Troy going back and fourth in my chair.
Lol - awesome. Sorry I didn't have as good of commentary as usual - I needed to focus to not make any mistakes riding this thing!
I have spent many miles on a R3. I absolutely can't add to this. What a ride!
I am inspired. I ride my R3 daily. Can't wait to take it on the track. Thank you. Broke at the moment.
Have fun!
Fun riding with you, buddy! I could hear you honking behind me. Too funny! I want a rematch!
Man, what a day. We’ll do it again. Good riding.
I met Troy at the IMS in Minneapolis MN. He was the spokesperson for the Alpinestars airbag vests. Super cool dude!
@@AdamWaheed What's the angle when you can hear the scraping sound?

Probably the best review for the r3
Have a 2016 and love it!!! Super easy to ride and really affordable!
This is so satisfying to watch..

Wow, the R3 so far exceeds the ability of most riders and certainly exceeds the limits of the streets / roads we ride them on.
nice video and nice riding!
I have r3 blue love 2017 i have 4000 miles..led lights in headlights for darktime. Love the video
Great video mate 👍😁
You’re going to need new pegs after all that scraping. Great video!
Is it pegs scraping or knee pads?
It's no his pegs lmao he'd flip over if it was
@@cupra2Jock.sounds like pegs to me. They have feelers on them, and they’re sprung. Why would you expect the bike to flip over if the pegs scrape??

Best review of a bike i have ever seen
Thanks man. Tell your friends, lol.
Loving all your track reviews! But I gotta say, I would love to see a KTM RC 390 track review considering it literally is THE low cc track bike
Like to get one just to set up for track. So much fun
We would love to see you do what you do best track riding ... plz do it more dosnt matter what bike m sure you'll nail it ... 👍🏍
Great vid !!! 2024
Do another R3 video and commentate the ride- speed- gear-brakes-great viewing listening to that section where you started to do this naturally 👍😁
Awesome bike
Troy is crazy fast! HOLY JESUS! :O
Sick dude I wanna do a track day in my ninja 300
Yes smaller bikes! Thanks
Great review!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for watching.
4:10 that was great setup for some over-under action. Let's get you a ride for World SBK!!!
Yeah man, put me in.
I have a 2016 but I love it!!

2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 Track Review running in a 4 quadcore 50 to 90 to 100 speedometer KPH
Adam, can how about a track day on the new 2023 R3 or even their race version?....
can you do some comparison vids?
Also...... I get mine tomorrow 😁😁😁😁😁
Sounds like your scraping the pegs quite a bit - would you advise fitting aftermarket rear sets?
Hey.. you said "You learn not to make mistakes on these little things.. because Mistakes come quick on these little things" I thought they were more forgiving than higher CC bikes? Would you mind elaborating?
I was always nervous about getting really low on turns but I guess it's capable of handling getting low just fine
Yeah man, she can take some lean.
@@AdamWaheed haha no doubt brotha.. Don't forget to say bismillah
I own a fz09. And a Zx14r. But the r3 will be my next toy!
Yep, that's what's up.
LOL @ the honking! hahahaha!
Were you guys running the factory size tires or were they bigger?
Do you have a quickshifter & slipper clutch installed?
Now I really wanna see a small sportbike shootout!
I do too!
what size are those tires you use on the track?
I'd say Troy's lines were better :) He just let you pass him.. :)
Genuine question I have no idea what I'm talking about but isn't using engine braking whilst bent way into a turn risky?
@adam would you recommend keeping the stock tire size when switching or go wider in the back?????
I like narrow tall rubber on the R6.
Are the tires the same size as factory, or wider?
Those winkers tho😆🤣 omg it's so 90'ish lol
I own a Tuono V4 now and thinking of doing more track days.

R3 will cost me about €4000 - €5000.
Crashing the Tuono maybe €2000 - €3000?
best 300 track bike for the money? right?
What gloves are those?
Are you riding with stock rearsets and without raising them? Are you scraping the foot pegs? Curious because I couldn't drag my knee on the track before my footpeg. I just now ordered a norton riser kit.
Hi, yes, we were riding with the bike in stock form, aside from the Bridgestone Battlax tires.

YZF-R6s are nice.
if ur still looking the r7 is perfect for all of the above
engine smoothness of r3 versus ninja 400 ? Have R3 and find R3 engine soooo smooth. Concerned about additional vibration on Ninja 400 that have read about.
Douglas Almanzar 400 has zero vibration after break in can confirm

I’d get the Ninja.
advice for tall rider. 6 foot 3. thin. long legs. good first bike ?
Jake Jakey I’m 6’4” and mine fits me well
I'm learning how to get low on turns on the streets so one day I can track my r3 and knee scrape! Safe riding all!
Other way around buddy. Do the track to ride better in street
Which is better R3 or Ninja 400? I am shopping. Thanks.
Ninja is better.
Adam Waheed Thank you.
until the R4 comes out 421cc
Yamaha Rider J it's coming next year in 2019 to compete with Ninja 400..
The ninja just because it's quicker and faster
damn I cant get that low :S
5:01 I know that laugh.
Hey Adam, r3 or the cb300r? 90% city 10% track use.
I like the CB300R more for street riding.

surprising when you shift down at higher rpm your rear tires didnt skid....... its a v tiwn or differente engine?
Rev match.

So the r3 or the ninja 400?? All stock for a track day and daily commute?
arvin mendoza by far the 400
What about the peg position on the Ninja 400 ? Your heel rests on the exhaust - which is a ridiculous oversight by Kawasaki.
Mostly comes down to what you prefer and the look of the bikes. If you re taller though the yamaha will definitely be more comfortable for commuting and it corners a little better than the kawi

Erik Johnston Agreed, it's been more like hinged at. Ari Henning had a video on Instagram where he said it was better than the RC390 on track easily.

True, but the R3 on race rubber certainly ain't bad!
