I picked up a new 24 700R just 3 weeks ago and have a Little Sahara trip planned for Sep 27-30. Just finished the break in today on it. Purchased the first mod tonight and went with the Precision Elite stabilizer. Just want to say thank you for making these videos and your channel. I haven't had a quad in 10+ years and your videos made me go out and get a 700 and the stabilizer. I can not believe how you were able to hit those logs and not get knocked off. I'm already wanting to do the big three, and get paddles but... I want to get to know the bike in its current form and kinda learn how to ride again. Then paddles, then big 3, then once it and I'm, ready a long 2 week trip to the big dunes out West.
This is my most favorite video you got bro I’m a huge fan I don’t have a raptor but I will one day and it’s just super nice to watch you do what you do bro 🤟🤠🤟
Love that front bumper! I have the same Pro Armor Bully Up on my 400ex! I also have the Houser Slicast A-Arms on my 400ex! That is one sweet machine you got there, by the way ...
How does your build stack up against similar setups? I realize every dyno reads differently but wouldn't you think that 60whp is considerably low with +2 valves, ported head, ported throttle body, stage 3 cam and the big 3.... I thought people were seeing low 60s with just the big 3, ported throttle body and s3 cams ?
If you bought the axle new, lonestar axles do have a lifetime warranty as well as other aftermarket axles. All should know "lifetime" means the life of the axle. So basically you should be able to get another axle if this is the first issue with an axle. Great Video! Look forward to the dunes!!!
That’s awesome to know. I plan on sending it back to have them straighten it. I’m gonna get a dominator to replace it and then have the fixed lonestar axle as a back up👍
Hey Pete when was last time you had valves adjusted? good idea to do them regularly. Last year bought my 2006 raptor 700 and wow did it ever run incredible after I adjusted the valves. it was making funny noises before and wouldn't cruise at low rpms smooth. I think that'd be your first look at for the sputtering or uneaven sounds. love your vids man. ya inspired me to get my raptor lol. what a dream the machine is eh. Thanks bud
We ended up doing a very minor valve adjustment. They were still close to in spec which was surprising to see. Turns out the issue I was having was related to my throttle position sensor 👍
Love the build pete,in my eyes nicest raptor on UA-cam,love all the products, im looking into a better case saverfor my trx450er , love the channel pete!
Big 3 estimates 53-55 horsepower My set up (big 3 ) dual empire exhaust, fci, pc5… ported throttle body to 47mm by cuevro and stage 3 cam brought me to 64.5 horsepower Pete you have more stuff added then me there is no way your only pushing 60 hp
Sorry I missed this comment. You can definitely make similar power with less mods than I have. My builder did up the top end so it's ready for a bigger crank in the future. So when this bottom end gets tired we'll end up doing a full build and the top end will be ready for those higher numbers. This video shares when the quad was rebuilt and the original dyno numbersua-cam.com/video/zU_6eF0DVQg/v-deo.html
Great video Pete, the Raptor is a phenomenal build. If you could only ride one machine for the rest of your life are you choosing the Raptor or would you go with something else?
Great video as always! Would highly suggest getting a seat cover if possible, probably the last thing you havent touched! Would really help you keep your butt planted when doing those power slides.
All lone star axles should have a lifetime warranty. That’s actually why I went with lone star instead of rpm. I’ve been racing with my lone star on my 450r for two years and haven’t bent it yet.
Hopefully new riders listen to you! Lol Best mod for raptor like you said steering stabilizer and suspension. Next should be make it wider to help with handling. Power isn’t problem on raptor even in stock form and like you said big3 it’s all raptor needs later when you get comfortable with it. I wish I knew all that when I started 4 years ago lol but of course I started wrong way with adding power like most of us!
The stance of this thing is wicked! They really should have a Raptor 700mx or some sort of widened lowered stance edition. Basically make it sit like a 450 from factory with that 700 thumper motor would be sweet. All the torque all the time
@pete Hager new subscriber here from the UK,just brought myself a raptor 700r (first ever quad bike) it’s had a lot of nice mods but the one thing I don’t like is the handle bars, think there stock one, what ones do you have on this quad please ? I’ll defo be following for tips ect as iv always wanted a quad & finally did it,gotta say tho,dam there fast
What specific mods would you recommend for a bigger guy? Any recommendations for suspension, brake/gear for long legs, rear axle and handle bars? I’m 6’3 290
Such a cool build for sure. What kind of axle are you going to replace it with? Maybe a dumb question but have you changed the spark plug to see if that helps with the sputtering?
Mine also has a low rpm sputter i put some injector cleaner in the gas it does it a little less now, replaced the spark plug yesterday went on a ride and it sputtered again, no idea what to do now.
Please make a video about the rpm sputter low rpm issue, my raptor does the same thing and i can figure it out, replaced the spark plug and put injector cleaner in the gas it does it a little less now but still does it here and there.
I’ll tell you what what what will be the best video man I have a Honda TRX 700 he wants to ride this thing dude you don’t want to get off of it I’m Tony TRX 700 Honda made one of the great best hot as they have built
The Diamond J kit's are a great lower budget option for widening your machine. The lower stance and ride height was the result of the long travel shocks and extended a arm's 👍
If you’re looking for maximum performance and handling it’s gonna be hard to beat the YFZR. Since I rarely track rode and don’t jump very often I’ve preferred the raptor for most free riding scenarios since the torque and ergonomics are more fun and practical. Its frustrating to have to spend a few grand to make the raptor handle its best but you also have to spend a few grand on a vortex, tuning, and exhaust/intake for the YFZR to make them run their best so both machines have extra costs to get them dialed. I’ve always said if I could only have one machine it would be the Raptor
@@PeteHager okay thank you for the reply 🙂, and you said on video it was around 120 to 150 hours when rebuilt, so would it be a bad idea to buy an older one like 2017? Would it just over all cost me the same to buy new than rebuild one?
@@brandon25184 most raptors seem to get more life outa of the motors then I did. Idk if I was harder on it than a lot of riders. You’ll want some 22x11-8 skat trak 7 haulers for st Anthony dunes, even with a big 3. Could get away with an 8 hauler too but don’t overpaddle
