- Med school interviews are around the corner once again!
A recent interesting topic is that of Martha's law - the legislated right for patients and families to have an independent line of access to senior medical staff for an independent review.

Received an unconditional offer today. Just wanted to say thanks for these brilliant videos. They’ve helped me greatly during my interviews.
Received my first offer for Graduate Entry Medicine two days ago, hoping for more in the next couple months! Thanks for all your videos Ollie!
Hey Ollie, your videos are such a help for interviews. Would you possibly do a video detailing / summarising the strike action that has occurred over the last year and how we can fix waiting lists etc. Thanks a lot!
Awesome talk , thank you ❤❤❤❤
Great video and explanation
Hey Ollie, you are the best! Would you please be able to do a video covering the priorities of a healthcare professional? Thank you!
👍🏻Thanks!
Good luck outreach. You're going to need it...
Hi Ollie, thanks a lot for this video, very interesting. Would it be possible for you to do one covering the latest medical current affairs, even briefly? Would really help in knowing what to cover in this area for interviews! Thanks!
Sure, give me some topics! Current affairs is very very broad and changes very quickly
Great! Apologies if you've covered some of these before but possibly euthanasia & assisted dying in the UK, Organ donation & transplant dilemmas, strikes, antibiotic resistance or the antivax movement. Thanks! @@OllieBurtonMed
Hi Ollie, did you know there are gps struggling to find work due to replacement by other health professionals
thank you ollie for this video very informative but possibly chaotic delivery of this new regulation
You should make a video about strikes!
Haven't posted in a while... lost in that gravy sauce I bet haha. Happy holidays
What does this mean for emergency medical technicians such as Ambulance care assistants, emergency care assistants, emergency medical technicians or paramedics on the street
I don't think it means anything as of yet in the street, because the legislation only applies to hospital inpatients. Perhaps it could apply to such a person working in ED as the referral point has to be independent on the treating team, although equally I'm not sure the EMT/paramedic etc would be deemed independent if they've handed over to the medical team.
Oli what is going on with the negotiations of junior doctors pay rise currently with new minister??🙏
Not much, hence strikes this week and after xmas
@@OllieBurtonMedpatients are being put at risk because of your strikes. Any money that you want to put into your pay should be spent on ambulance service staff training because we have a huge staff shortage since everyone retired in 2023. If the nhs gives money to you it means we have to work with even less staff because of your strikes
whats with the beard boss
We've all got to start somewhere
It’s ok. PAs will be able to do the review. They are basically replacing doctors at the moment and aren’t regulated so no punishment if it goes wrong🫠
