they admin looked the other way because they were incentivized to do so. if they believed the doctors and called the police, and she was or wasn't, nobody would want to go to the hospital anymore. I wouldn't want to go there for an aspirin!
so they closed their eyes and hoped it woudl go away, so they could keep their fat paychecks and cushy jobs.
they should face some culpability, even if it is just getting personally sued by some of the latter parents for not stopping her sooner.
the hospital admin made a choice. a conscious choice. and if you don't want it to keep happening, then you heed to assign consequences.

In court he said that he had seen Lucy Letby virtually in the act of harming a baby and this was burned into his memory. Dr Jayaram has a special quality that sets him apart: Integrity. Well done Dr for fighting for the lives of children, despite the opposing management who had self-interest as their priority. We need more doctors like him and less management like them. I hope those managers pay a heavy price for their actions.

This is so, so sad. It’s also a great reminder of how poorly the management is within the NHS. My uncles been a gynaecologist in the NHS for 25 years and he said it’s a disgrace how poorly it’s run. The management within hospitals don’t want to make large scale needed changes because it reflects badly on them. People blame the lack of money but it’s far more than that.
