Wonderful podcast. It has taken me several days to watch because life keeps interrupting. But that means I really get to savor every minute of it. Thank you for bringing patterns, designers, yarns and yarn dyers to me with your podcast. You keep knitting exciting.
I have had a bright pink neck flashlight thingies forever! Love it! Use it all the time!!!! Loved all the knitting content! You are rocking those needles!
I love the piano keyboard hat. The pom-pom looks like hair. Beautiful cowl and colors. I really enjoy your videos. I would be in heaven to create your wall yarn organizer.
I just bought a bag from Jodi last night! I've been watching all the old episodes from the beginning - I was in need of a Jodi/Traci fix. You two are like crack.
Welcome back Girls!! Love the drawstring bags Mrs Brown. Can't wait to see what happens this year... PS - I was the first company to import Glerups into North America back in 2004. Back then the manufacturing site was an old barn in Denmark with 5 women running everything including Nanny Glerup, who started making these felted beauties for family and friends. I love my Glerups!! Ciao for now!!
Always super fun! Those adorable bird bags are of a ruby-throated hummingbird and an American goldfinch!!! I spin and have lots of various handspun yarns hanging around and I think you turned me onto that Shift cowl. I've been avoiding it because it does look like it goes on FOR.EVER but yours is spectacular. And by the way, I wear my Canmore Cowl all the time!!! Love it!!!!
As always a great video. I'm really happy you are finally discussing the price of some of the more costly yarns. You had spoke so highly of Plucky yarn and i went out and found that the sweater would cost me over $350.00. That is just too costly!!!
I was gifted three skeins of yarn that were not my style at all. I looked and looked for a multi colored pattern to use them in. I finally did the shift Cowl. Even though I did not love the yarn at all, the cowl was beautiful! It was a great lesson to me, because I also thought that it wouldn’t really turn out if I wasn’t using the expensive spin cycle yarn! This is motivating me to need it again in yarn that I actually do like! I know it will be amazing! Thanks for the motivation ladies!
I turn on my computer...…..I go to UA-cam...…...and yes...…….They've podcasted!!!! I grab my knitting and a cuppa...…….and watch! Love it! Thanks girls, and a Happy New Year to you both!!
So, I'm laughing like a mad thing, as while I watch your episode, I'm knitting with a NECK LIGHT on. They are fabulous beyond belief for knitting.. Another random, but great use, was when the power was out this fall, after a terrible storm, and I could see my way around the house at night! You will never know how you got along without them!
It breaks my heart at the loss of animals in Australia. All those poor little Koala's burnt and lost and it's horrifying. I think the whole world is at a loss for words at how massive this fire is. It will take a long time to recover any of it and maybe never for some of the animals. As usual your podcast is my favorite and you never fail to make me laugh, or make me catch my breath at the things you knit, or the yarn you buy. Always inspiring. Happy New Year to you both.
See my comment above. There is a wonderful fiber artist that is donating 100 % of her sales for her new shawl. Of you need the is a discount code for the pattern. Helps people who want to give but have limited funds.
So good to see you on my little screen again! 💗 I agree Tracie, one sweater at a time. If I have multiple wips, I feel anxious and stressed. Knit light! I've had one for about a year, I keep it in hubby's car for my car knitting. So many out of town ringette games that we still drive to, to watch our grown daughters play. My light has 3 settings, and I only ever need one side on, at the lowest setting. I love it! Welcome to the knit light club! 😘😘😘
I am so thrilled that I found you both! I discovered your podcast about one week ago while on vacation (teacher) and have been playing catch up. You make me laugh out loud! There are few podcasts that I'm enthralled with (and know from the first video) and your's is one of them. Keep it up girls! From a 61 year old teacher who LOVES all things knitting....I knit during my unassigned class (watching podcasts) and always get to my next class with a smile!
I made the Shift cowl last year and loved it! The design and colors are just amazing and surprising. I gave it away and now I want to make another for myself. Yours turned out beautifully.
It is sooooooo great to see you both!! I'm grateful holidays are over but was a peaceful time. It's great to see you both. Here's my deal I truly try to celebrate everyday with a new year attitude I have a mental illness and it's very very difficult every day so I have just chosen to be in the mindset of every day or part of every day I can celebrate being alive being here being who I am and all of that so happy new day to the both of you!!
The first amount of anything is not zero, it is one. Each group of ten is 1 thru 10, 11 thru 20, etc., so 2021 is the first year of the next decade. We haven’t lived thru 2,020 years until the end of this year yet! Happy New Year! And thanks for your very fun podcasts ❤️
What a fun episode!! I loved everything. I am knitting the same sweater as Jodi right now! I'm done the body and working on the first sleeve. I cast on last Thursday and I love it! Everything you showed was so fun but I especially love the watercolour bag. Our school's mascot is a llama so I totally need a llama bag. 😍
Hi Tracy and Jodie, I have one of those lamps and looooove it! Beautiful all your knits and yarns! I laugh so much with you guys, you're such good sisters.❤️♥️
I have made the Flozzy Cardigan and love it and now that Libby has a Flozzy Jumper May have to make that too. Thanks so much for thinking of us in Australia - we are having a difficult time but it helps to know our knitting friends in Canada are thinking of us
I made the shift cowl for my sister for Christmas. I just used some super budget sport weight superwash Merino I got from blueprint in 3 solid colors. It turned out beautifully. She loved it so much she did not take it off for days. I totally want to make one for myself in the called for yarn at some point.
I've just started watching you wonderful ladies, ttscraps sent me, I dont know a lot about knitting, but I love watch you two and listening, I do crochet, and am learning to knit, glad you ladies are on here to watch
Happy New Year! Loved all the knitting and yarn you shared. So great to spend a couple of hours with you. I’m hoping to make a dent in my yarn stash this year, just as I did in my quilt fabric in 2019. I finished, bound, and labeled, 9 quilts (6 flannel quilts/6 grandchildren, 1 flannel quilt/great grandson, 2 cotton quilts/ for ?) I have 4 more quilts being quilted right now! All stash fabric is designated (some cut, some started sewing) for set projects....so no more fabric stash! I have a floozy waiting for me to get back to it 😂, plus several other wips, plus a moderate stash that needs attention. I am trying extremely hard to not buy any new yarn; but you do not help 😭. Look forward to more visits with you 💛
Jodi! I ended my SSSS in the 8th stripe. Go for it! And I received one of those led neck lights for Christmas a few years ago and my favorite thing to tell people is that I've found it goes over my visor in the car and I can aim the lights down and knit in the dark on car rides without disturbing the driver!
So happily surprised when I saw that you guys had a new podcast! Traci-I can’t even! Your new hat pattern and your red sweater are amazing! I may have to knit a shift because of you. Jodi-love your party of five set. I have a set of the lights. I use them to read at knit too.
Well I’m off to my usual good start in 2020; signed up for the Row One Carnival of Color Club and bought yarn from Hue Loco. As usual it’s taking me several days to watch your podcast because of all the shopping. I would have some Cashmere yarn on the way if it hadn’t been sold out! 🥴😂 I bought two of those neck lights several years ago so I’d always have one charged. Everyone needs one!!
Love the slippers I have 3 pair. One with the finished bottom to wear outside. They are so warm ,even when it is really cold outside.♥️♥️ and they are not slippery the finished grip is amazing
Happy New Year ladies. I loved all the projects you showed on this podcast. Your colour combinations are super cute. Wish I could choose combos like you. And that light is amazing. I do have a headlamp which I purchased from Lee Valley and I use it for lots of things - it’s so useful. But I think I need that neck lamp you showed. You can never have too much light :)
oh I love you sooooo much ! Your french accent , you have made my day !! The traduction for the Biscotte yarn is : My country is winter . Love you girls and happy new year from Quebec !
I have the Dreamstate and the other one(?) but I love just hand-spun. Ewetopia yarn is glorious. Lots of yardage and weights are great. Soft!! I could not get through that cowl. I really wanted it but I felt like I was on chain gang. Yours is gorgeous Tracie.
My resolution for last year and this year is to not use plastic bags. I have invested in several reusable bags and I have failed occasionally but most times I remember to take them shopping with me.
My goodness everything that you shown on your podcast today for 2020 is absolutely gorgeous !! I want to get everything. And the colors are out of this world Thank you for sharing I am so so excited to start knitting everything ? OK maybe not everything I’m not that good but you make it hard just to choose One or two. Thanks again💞
Yarn Byrds are awesome! I was on my way to a Fiber festival in Ky and we drove past her truck. I went "nuts" ! My hubby wouldn't beep the horn! She is so much fun. The truck is beautiful! Come to Ohio Ladies!
Love the SSSS colours, Jodi! I knit 2 of those sweaters both in Erika Knight Wool Local held double. I did the first one in the length Joji did in dark grey and blue and the second one I did light grey and grubby pink but added an extra stripe to make it a bit longer. I love them both and wear them all the time. I'm likely going to make a third. :)
I love my The Shift cowl using Spincycle yarns. My colors are almost identical to yours, i used their Dyed in the Wool yarn. I’ll be making another one. A friend is making another one using 2 colors of Sesame yarn from Berroco & 1 of Kenzie. It is gorgeous. This is a pattern that you can use any yarn.
On the sofa today with a flare up of my MS/Fibro and stumbled across your videos, which I really enjoy. Was drooling over patterns and yarns and would love it if you could put in links to both in future! Will subscribe and watch more!
Love your Floozy sweater Tracie. Truly Myrtle came out with a pullover version (Floozy Too) released in Nov 2019 which I just bought and want to add to my future knitting after seeing yours. Might even check out Barrett wool. Thanks for the inspiration. Love you guys!!
OMG too funny! I was just sitting here knitting in the dark with my neck light. They are AMAZING! Haven't been feeling well but I would never miss a video!
Love the shift cowl, I made one in Stonehenge fiber crazy. Got the bug to make the shawl and treated myself to Spincycle, it is so worth the time and money!!
Hi Jodi and Tracie. . .I just wanted to tell you that Denise from Fig & Posy Fiber Co. is THE BEST! She is so easy to work with. . she goes up, over and beyond to make sure you have exactly the color and blend of yarn you are looking for.
In kindergarten i was taught 0 1 2 3 exc.... This is the same as counting with a 0 and up. When it comes to the years. You ladies are correct it starts with 0. Best of the New Year!
Okay, you’ve convinced me to cast on the Shift! I’ve had the yarn for months and it’s time! Except, I think I need to cast on Tracie’s hat first. Happy New Year!
Libby Jonson aka Truly Myrtle is an extremely talented designer she is a Kiwi and has a Facebook group - Truly Myrtle - Knit & Chat Hangout. Here people are encouraged to talk about and show their garments designed by Libby. She has a weekly podcast in this group every Thursday morning and it is truly a delight. I encourage anyone to join this group it is very inspiring. BTW gorgeous ladies it’s great to see your beautiful faces again I’m so excited for all your 2020 podcasts especially the lives 😃 You brighten my day so much as between Nov 2019 and 13 January I lost both of my parents you help take my mind off such a hard time 😔 So thank you from the bottom of my heart 💓 xx Shiree (New Zealand)
This is freaky!! I finished my Hastings mitts a few days ago and Jason's Cashmere Hat for my husband last night. Delighted with both. I'm now going to have to get your gorgeous new hat pattern for myself.
Love you guys! About the meaning on the name of that yarn......"mon pays c'est l'hiver"! I remember it so well from high school and learning about the history of Quebec and the Quiet Revolution - as per Wikipedia: ""Mon pays" ("My Country", or "My Homeland", in English) is a song composed by Quebec singer-songwriter Gilles Vigneault in 1964.... The song consists of six stanzas of lyrics about winds, cold, snow, and ice, of the solitude of wide open spaces and of the ideal of brotherhood. Its theme, "'Mon pays ce n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver", is well-known throughout the province. As well as expressing the natural beauty and praising the special characteristics of the composer's Quebec homeland, the song is seen by many people as declaring the free spirit of the province; Vigneault has denied that this was ever his intention; however, he has been firm that "mon pays" refers to Quebec and should not be associated with Canada as a whole." Then Patsy Gallant turned it into the disco hit "From New York to L.A."
Happy new year to you both... But omg I bought 2 of those lights and they are the best thing ever!! My daughter thinks they're weird but they work and are brilliant for crafters... Love your podcasts as always. 🌹
I absolutely love the idea of knitting a shift cowl in worsted or DK❤️ I have my original one in the sport weight and I feel like it would be better if it was just a bit bigger and squishier. Just like yours Tracie 👍🏻 I usually never knit the same thing twice but this will be my first! So happy for a new episode of Grocery Girls thank you 🙏🏻
Speaking of projects people knit more than one of, I just finished my third "Sweet Shop" shawl. All of them are two color versions and I love them!!!!! Picking the color combos is a blast. I'll have to share photos with you!
omg, your colors for that Shift cowl are beautiful!! I've had this cowl in my favs for a while and haven't started it... now I have to go find some yarn!
Only six inches of snow. We had 18 inches last Friday and it is snowing like crazy right now with a forecast for snow everyday until Mon. I live in the Bella Coola valley in BC. I love carrot cake. My recipe has crushed pineapple and shredded carrot -- no nuts.
If we're voting I think it makes so much more sense culturally to talk about decades from 0 - 9. And nuts are very important. As are lovely, scrumptious yarns. I need a sweater I want to pet!
Ahhh the holidays are over and my favorite podcasters are back! Oh WEM. When I lived in Edm, I dreaded people visiting from out of town because I knew that would be on the list of things to do, places to see. And now that I don't live in Edmonton, visits to the city rarely go west of 142 street. :) Jodi's party of five makes me want to cast one on, but I think I'm doing a Nurtured first - I just ordered the yarn. And then For Fox Sake. There are too many great sweater patterns!
As usual you gals are such a treat! I watch on the tv monitor via Roku/youtube ... and to fast forward is snail slow, so this time instead of a regular ad before your podcast it was a full episode of Zoey's playlist ... Oh My Word!! at first I was whaat! now I think I'm hooked! Crazy .... anyway, I'm gonna head on over and buy your winter walk hat! YAY!
Definiely a cowl, Jodi! Using Shipwreck and Charcoal! Beautiful colors that scream out your name! Cant wait to see what you make. Those colors would also make a GROOVY Hat Jodi!!🙂
Fig and Posy is THE most squishy, easy to work with yarn I've ever used! My first attempt at knitting. Made Martina Behm's Match and Move shawl. Totally worth looking into!
I LOVE The Wuthering Sheep bags! My boss at Cream City Yarn got us personalized ones for Christmas and I use that bag for socks on the go almost exclusively!
Thanks for mentioning the fires here in Oz. It has been a difficult and terrifying time with such loss. Wildlife Victoria is in desperate need of cash donations and is a registered charity with an online donation portal. Also there is a group on Ravelry made up of indie dyers selling a limited edition colourway and donating proceeds to their choice of fund. #indiedyersforbushfiresupport.
I think this is the year that I need to label my project bags in some way. Although surprises are nice, I just detest not being able to find something I was sure I had started. Maybe fewer WIPs? Maybe not.
Hi girls!!!! Love love your podcast!! Big fan of all your knitting and patterns you create!!! Traci, the Shift shawl, omg!!!!! So beautiful!!! What colors of spincycle yarn did you use????
It is SO HARD to have to frog a project that so much time went into it....I feel better to hear even u have that happen...I have to frog an afghan that I have many many hours in and it just is not what I envisioned...😣 Worst is when it makes me feel like a failure....I know I shouldn't feel like that but....it is what it is...so thank u so much for sharing.
A child is not 1 until their first birthday, but they have been alive for a year. I think that should count for decades, too. January 1, 2020 was the decade's birth.
So much fun as usual and THANK YOU for encouraging me treat myself to some wonderful yarny things! 🤗🙋🏻♀️🧶🧦 🐑
Hi Sisters!! Happy New Year! I knit Andrea Mowry's Nightshift Shawl in Brooklyn Tweed. Awesome!! Thanks for a fabulous visit. xoxo
You both bring so much joy with you! Thanks for brightening my week.
It breaks my heart at the loss of animals in Australia. All those poor little Koala's burnt and lost and it's horrifying. I think the whole world is at a loss for words at how massive this fire is. I agree Tracie, one sweater at a time.

Happy new year! I also have those slippers, first thing I put on when I get out of bed or walk in the door!
Happy New Year girls...the “decade”does go from 1 to 10...but I still feel 2020 is the beginning of a new decade...the twenties 😄
I am ridiculously jealous of all your snow talk! It’s going to be hot as crap where I am in Australia tomorrow and on fire watch 😭 dreaming of snow ❄️
Brooke Allison We are all so devastated by your fires! Stay safe❤️
The Biscotte yarn you have ... I got it two winters ago and still haven’t knit it but I love looking at it so much! It’s sooooo soft!

Yay! Happy New Year girls from Wales. Home made ice-cream is the biz! 'Very Knitty episode" - always funny turns of phrase x
Me too get well soon 😕
At work, we have a location in Atlanta, Georgia and every time I say it to a client all I can think is "GEORGIA! WE'RE PODCASTING!"
Love the shift cowl, I made one in Stonehenge fiber crazy. Got the bug to make the shawl and treated myself to Spincycle, it is so worth the time and money!!

As well as expressing the natural beauty and praising the special characteristics of the composer's Quebec homeland, the song is seen by many people as declaring the free spirit of the province; Vigneault has denied that this was ever his intention; however, he has been firm that "mon pays" refers to Quebec and should not be associated with Canada as a whole."
Then Patsy Gallant turned it into the disco hit "From New York to L.A."
Yarnbyrds is the best. Robin always has a great selection of indie dyers and you gotta love a yarn truck!
Happy new year to you both... But omg I bought 2 of those lights and they are the best thing ever!! My daughter thinks they're weird but they work and are brilliant for crafters... Love your podcasts as always. 🌹
I bought myself a lamp like that for car knitting and it totally works! Not blinding the driver!!
I made the Shift too, out of my hand spun yarn. I agree it is the most fun to knit and wear a lot!
So happy for a new episode of Grocery Girls thank you 🙏🏻
I made the Shift Cowl with Cascade Heritage Wave and it is spectacular and so much less expensive.
Lucky to be going to Vogue Knitting Live this coming weekend. Wish you two were going to be there.
Speaking of projects people knit more than one of, I just finished my third "Sweet Shop" shawl. All of them are two color versions and I love them!!!!! Picking the color combos is a blast. I'll have to share photos with you!
Carrot Cake with too much cream cheese frosting! YES!
Me too Jodi! So so happy when the holidays are over! And I love love my alone time ❤️
omg, your colors for that Shift cowl are beautiful!! I've had this cowl in my favs for a while and haven't started it... now I have to go find some yarn!
Love The Shift cowl! Another great yarn to use that is pretty affordable would be Schoppel-Wolle. I made my cowl using this yarn and it's awesome :)
I preordered one of your drawstring bags. I already have one and love, love, love it 😍
Only six inches of snow.
Jodi's party of five makes me want to cast one on, but I think I'm doing a Nurtured first - I just ordered the yarn. And then For Fox Sake. There are too many great sweater patterns!
Love our Colorado Dyers... they rock.. just like the grocery girls...
Happy 2020! So glad to see you! I’m addicted to pom-poms too!
I agree about the sweater purling. currently working on a throwback sweater because love the look but hate the purling - will never do it again.
You can gift me the hat it's so Beautiful! I just love the color.
Tracie, that’s why I don’t knit sweaters anymore. I am tired of things not fitting after I spent so much time and money on it.
KEVIN!!! O M G thank you!
Oh so nice, you will love knitting with Les Laines Biscotte! I have knit in their self stripe, and speckled, love it!
OMG your floozie love the colors.
Cashmere yarn so gorgeous.
Happy New Year to you and all your familys. Brambleknits.
Before a baby's 1st birthday it is still ALIVE! So... 2020! New Decade [new baby]. ~Marie
Would love the large bag with a draw string. Tracie is so right!
I think this is the year that I need to label my project bags in some way. Although surprises are nice, I just detest not being able to find something I was sure I had started. Maybe fewer WIPs? Maybe not.
Technically the new decade starts with 2021 because there was no year 0. But I still think of this as the start of the new decade.
Wear my shift cowl all the time - the unmatch is in the back. Mine is all solid colors and still looks great!
Cant believe my eyes! I will be up all night ..... watching! Yey!
Can you tell me the name of the pompous and website again please
Show notes are not coming up
Thank you Jodie and Tracie for thinking about us in Sunburnt country called Australia. Yes it is bad down here.
