Prince Edward Island is one of the most beautiful islands in Canada, if not the world. We had only five nights to explore and I truly wish we had the whole summer. Gorgeous sandy beaches, lovely people, and incredibly delicious food make this province a wonderful place to visit. Actually, I learned something new about Prince Edward Island. The province is home to incredible food culture and is the perfect place for any passionate foodie. We had no idea about the love of food on the island but it didn't take long for us to figure it out. From cooking lessons at the Table to one-of-a-kind experiences by the famous Canadian Chef, Michael Smith, our days were filled with tasty local delights.
PEI was our third province visited on the Road to 150 Tour.
Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multimedia road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

For me, PEI is the best place to live after retirement. It is so calm, make me relax... I have been 4 times (and I came in Canada 13 years ago! You're right about beaches and food... sooo goood!
I can see that! Is that where you're going to retire? I also met a younger family who bought a restaurant there, work every single day for 6 months and then travel the world for 6 months of winter :)
its so peaceful
If someone exploring Canada in such a beautiful way, it's you guys...
Thank you so much Madhu
This is one of the best series on Canada I have ever seen
I went to prince Edward Island for last summer. It's beautiful there.m

Oh really? That's so cool! What grade and province?
One thing that should be mentioned is the absolutely beautiful golf courses. We go every two years just to go golfing and sightseeing. Best in the world.
I bet. We gotta learn how to golf so we can really enjoy them
Thanks so much
The fresh food got me. woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!!!!!
Fresh food difficult to source locally?
I went to pei 2 years ago and it was the best time of my life. I'm going again on Thursday July 29th 2021 so 9 days and I'm so excited
Awesome! We're going again too, but not until mid Septembner
@@MustDoCanada I'm from Aberta. Can't wait to go back. It's so peaceful their
Best❤
I went to Prince Edward Island back in 1986 with my husband. His family is from there. We had to take the ferry across because the Confederation bridge hadn't been built yet. I wanted to move there, but he wanted to return to Ontario.
Oh wow! Very cool. So now you're in Ontario?
@@MustDoCanada Yes, I live in London Ontario.
I love PEI
We love it too. Going back soon. Stay tuned!
@@MustDoCanada ok sounds good

Thanks man, Appreciate it :)
I remember first time when i watched this video I couldn't understand anything they're talking about. Now, I understand the half. Hahaha... Still dealing with my English skills
dont worry, the girl in the video...strange accent, I can easily understand everything but need more attention when listnening to her:-)
Great video guys 👍
Thank you!
U guys are awesome
i grew up there.. we were ruthless.. i was a mussel boat captain. now im a foreman out west on the railway.. would like to return someday
Nice. There's a new restaurant called the Blue Mussel Cafe, and it's right next to a mussel farm haha...
I loved this video. It was really nice and i just love it. I really want to go to PEI some time!
Thank you! It's a really cool place, and very small and relaxed!
Guys, your videos are amazing. Those beautiful landscapes you showed us are fantastic. Hope to go there some day. Watching you from Argentina =)
Thank you so much! That means a lot and we do hope you make it here someday. We actually hope to make it to Argentina one day too. Maybe we can trade :)
@@MustDoCanada I love that idea!!! Thank you for all =)
It's sooo nice province AMAZING
I love this channel! I'm moving to Canada next month and your content has been very helpful. You deserve thousands of subscribers!
Wow, thank you so much! Where are you moving and where from?
Must Do Canada I'm thinking BC because I'll have friends nearby but love the looks of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Moving from Australia 😄
Oh awesome. Australia was my first big backpacking trip. Are you moving permanently or a work visa?
Must Do Canada 2 year visa but planning on the big move :) I'm wanting to backpack the east coast first. Spend maybe 6-9 weeks travelling around. Would I have problems in Quebec and Nova Scotia if I can't speak French? Thanks in advance
Perhaps in Quebec would be an issue but nowhere else. New Brunswick is actually the only officially bilingual province whereas Quebec is primarily french. But yeah, Quebec would be the only place that not speaking French, especially if trying to find work, would be a challenge.
Awesome video
I look forward to more videos.Keep it up!
Thanks!
I will never forget fresh steamed mussels at Confederation bridge, and best potatoes in the world.
oh yeaaaah, so good
You have some great videos. I wonder why you have such few subscribers.
I know right! Message UA-cam and ask them to give us a boost :)
Exploring Canada...nice video 👍👍👍
Thanks!
❤❤❤

I 💕Canada
We wish to come to there what we can do
Really, how could 33 people thumbs down this video
haha thanks man. I wonder the same thing
🙃 we do have a lot of hidden treasures here in Canada’s smallest province.
Beautiful in the summer, horrible in the winter.
i want to go see my friend so bad she moved here
Well when you do go, it'll be great. But go in the spring, summer, or fall haha
I was born in PEI
I'm exceptionally inspired and have honestly my whole life wanted to go to PEI. Before solidifying a trip, I want to ensure I have solid plans. I understand that I'd have to fly into YYG. If anyone has any suggestions on finding a hotel or inn for example either in PEI or Charlottetown or a nearby proximity that shares an awesome view of the beach/coastline and serves some mouthwatering, flavorful food? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also, I'd prefer to be near the Green Gables exhibits, as I plan on spending a lot of time near that area touring. Thank you. 🙂
We're not totally sure about the ocean view but I'm sure there are many options. We stayed at Green Gables Bungalows right next to it
@@MustDoCanada Awesome! Is there a lot to do in walking distance out of curiosity?
@@jburlesonactor1 mmmm hard to remember, but PEI is probably best seen by car. It's quite spread out
@@MustDoCanada Gotcha. Understood. Thanks so much for your input.😊
Good video, but a bit of audio issue here.
👍 🇨🇦
my mom used to work with shef michel smith
Very cool!
Awww just beautiful!
Thank you :)
Must Do Canada Your very welcome.
the background music in this video is too annoying. I can't finish it.
Bobby Valentine
Just turn your sound down! The province is lovely, a must-see!
What was the cooking class and the feast?
It was at a place called the Table. They're actually a part of our new saver card too: www.mustdocanada.com/saver-card
Must Do Canada What about the feast?
@@DominicBlair Oh, that was at Chef Michael Smith's place...Everything is listed here: www.mustdocanada.com/things-to-do-in-prince-edward-island/
Must Do Canada It looks delicious
@@DominicBlair It was!
So this is vinland
Did you visit Province House?
I think we may have just passed by it with our historical tour. So many things we need to go back and see!
It's Bay Fortune, not Bay Fortson... otherwise great video, I live 5 minutes away from Chef Micheal Smith's amazing business!
I'm not sure where you heard this. Chef Michael says Bay Fortune... in the video?
He does say Bay Fortune, but the subtitle says " Bay Fortson " @ 2:11
ohhh awesome thanks for letting us know. We'll try to change that soon! :)
Everything you need to know about the accuracy of this presentation: the Green Gables house is surrounded by cheap, tatty, tourist fare, like rollercoasters, and haunted houses. I live not far from Cavendish, and let me tell you, the best part of PEI is the exit. I
The audio for this video needs work. Music comes in deafeningly loud while the commentary can barely be heard.
thanks for the feedback
@Ginger You sound like a really angry person with lots of trauma. If anything, we'd recommend a visit to PEI where, hopefully, the sounds of the waves crashing into the shoreline will bring some peace to your grumpy life. Take care!
@@MustDoCanada Ginger, This isn't intended to be a post to tear the video creator apart (or throw insults). I was simply commenting so that maybe future videos will not have the same issue as I'm truly interested in this stuff. The video quality itself is sublime - the audio was an issue (For me). Regardless, this video is great and I should have given praise in my original comment. My apologies for not doing so!
@@-Scotticus- That's okay Scott. We didn't take it in a bad way. These were our fist video and man o man is audio the hardest part, especially when dealing with the elements
Crap place very cruel and like to back stab, lived there Si x horrible years, yes it looks nice but the people aren't they don't like outsiders, with the pandemic lots of people from Ontario moved there, they were ripping the licenses plates off their cars ,if from there no problem,if not think twice, absolutely horrible, nearly died of depression and loneliness,no one talks to you, very unfriendly place, remember these people are paid too tell you lies about the place like it great, yea right take from someone who lived there not on some holiday, don't go take my word for it you will be sorry, want a truly nice place to go,go to Newfoundland 1000 times better,.
,
Painfully boring. You know when 50% of a video on what to do is just about cooking a meal, you're in for a dull trip. Be nice to see for a week I guess.
Idk if you’re from the island or what, but there’s so many hidden gems you never get to see in these videos. It always “beaches, cooking, Anne!!” Which is fun but there’s so many more things than that.
macmacleod 413 Yes, I was a bit hard on the place when it comes to vacations. Lovely beaches, and nice green farmland. It's a good place for a very relaxing week. Ive spent quite a lot of time, since the family moved there for a year, and I travelled there several times.
During the winter it's pretty dead. And for a place that's so country, there's no hunting, little fishing, camping, skiing, etc etc..... just closed for the season farms.
BUT, I will miss the place in the summer a bit.
Jim F whaaaat there’s lots of fishing, just gotta know the right spots!
Oooooh, the most boring of the Canadian provinces--a small, very flat island with mediocre beaches and mediocre English-inspired food. Exciting!
You obviously haven't been but that's a good thing! :P
@@MustDoCanada He's correct; PEI is as dull as ditchwater. I live on PEI. Do you?
Hi Karla do you speak French?
Karla's first language is Spanish. She knows some French but not very much
she's Mexican, obviously not smh
Ginger Doesn’t change the fact that she’s from Mexico
This is so striped lol there is no facial expression on the guy face.
Canada is, according to me, the most beautiful country on earth...I am working hard right now so that I can retire in 2040...Once I retire, I will travel the whole country...There's lot more thing to see in Canada.
Yes, one could do it in one year, or even tens years, and maybe not see it all
@@MustDoCanada it's true...But, I will visit all parts of Canada...If I retire at the age of 40, I will get more than 15 years to roam around the whole world...
I was fortunate to be born on PEI. I now live in beautiful Vancouver. I still long to see my island home once again. I just don't think it is going to happen.
Too far?
Must Do Canada no...I would enjoy the trip. It just cost so much and I wasn't smart enough to save for something like that. At 74 living on a small pension just doesn't allow for that.
Ahh I see. Yeah, it is far. Farther than Mexico from Vancouver. One thing I would recommend is points. 25,000 Aeroplan points could get you a return trip, although there's still the costs of visiting...
Must Do Canada yeah everything is so expensive these days. Are you an "islander?"
No, from Alberta. My dad is from NFLD though...
I love Prince Edward Island of Canada.
I love all Canada💖🌷
Awesome! Keep it up!
The footh was amazing
