    As a person who lived there top things to do go to wharf and buy directly from the fisherman...just ask someone local or go to redhead wharf during fishing season........visit downtown including canton cafe on queen street for the best Chinese ever....also cows ice cream...........visit a beach on both north and south ( there is a difference ) I like the south shore warmer water just ask any friendly islander direction of their fav spot..if u like crowded brackley beach on the north shore...south shore any beach in or around the rocky point area 17 km from Charlottetown for the best donairs EVER visit Grecco Donair and pizza best donair and donair egg rolls /\

    It's funny but most Easterners (be they Islanders or Nova Scotians) would have died of shame decades back if they had to eat lobster. And NOBODY ate mussels. I remember as a kid seeing them on the wooden props of the wharves at low tide and thinking, how disgusting that they eat these things in France.

    • @Scalihoo
      @Scalihoo 2 роки тому

      The same with Scotland where my parents were born, the lobsters went to France, London places like that ..they weren't all that appetizing & the $ was more important they got for them

      @cerberus6654 2 роки тому

      @@Scalihoo Same in the West Indies where I lived for a while - although there lobsters are a different species without the big claws. The Jamaicans call them 'red spiders' and won't touch them. Now, with mussels, here on Prince Edward Island in Canada, they are all grown very carefully and are completely safe to eat. But here, the last thing anyone would eat are sea urchins - which in sushi as roe, I just love. One day some years back in Malta I spent the day in a little cove prying urchins open and slurping down the roe. And in Ukraine I just gobbled up 'raki', the freshwater crayfish they all eat. A lot of it is about both basic human reluctance to eat weird things versus the human ability to try anything - if you're hungry, and then discover how tasty it can be!

The funniest moment with seafood was years ago in Spain when a supplier took me to this top seafood restaurant in Madrid. A big plate full of what looked like the fingers of an alien, with claws, was served. I was taken aback but I was told they are called percebes and are delicious. Well, they were. Delicate, like lobster but sweeter. I asked for another plate. My host hesitated for a moment then ordered another. A year or so later I read that they are about as expensive ounce for ounce as gold - and I felt a sense of guilt. For a second, not much more.

    Those prices are outrageous! forget that! I am Canadian, and you can get cheaper lobster around the corner for that tourist trap. What a joke.

    Sorry, having travelled to Banff, Vancouver, Niagara Falls/Toronto, Montreal, etc, I don't find the video very attractive. I love lobsters, but that isn't enough to make the trip.

    I've lived on this island my whole life and the only nice thing about it is the nature. Everything else is a shit show and you all should avoid coming here at all costs. Anne of Green Gables never existed yet we use 'her' to get more people to come to this god forsaken tourist trap. Most of our industry is seasonal and if you're looking for opportunities you should go/stay out west. I'm not saying these things because I dislike tourists and immigrants, I'm saying these things because PEI is the worst province in Canada to do anything. This place is where small businesses come to die. This place is where the young get stuck and have no where to go but six feet under the ground. This place will kill your dreams, eat you up, and shit you out. Just remember, this place looks nice but don't try to live here, you'll regret every second you waste.
