I have one just like this, it had only been used 3 times before I got it, but one of those times it was used with the shampooer, and they overflowed the water pan and sent filthy water thru the whole thing. I took it apart completely and cleaned it with a brand new HEPA filter. I used the machine for a year and a half every day, then decided to see what the HEPA filter looked like, it was white as the day I put it in, and the exhaust area was also spotless. If used correctly these machines will honestly trap all the dirt in the water.
Thanks for the quick Tutorial. This sure speeded my repairs. I found a broken wire from the thermo-fuse to motor connection. replace wire spade connector. Now to find some one to operate the dang thing!!!
Thank you, mine had a very bad power cord which would cause the wires to only make contact in certain angles, and today I turned it on and a volcano of sparks flew out, I could make it like brand new eith your video.
they tried to sell me saying there were no filters to change. But It's easy to see that's not the case. Not to mention how much it cleans the air - of course there are filters, lol. Bought it anyway. Can't say ZERO regret case I don't use it enough but it's amazing.
When I got to the motor during breakdown it has a filter around it similar to the type filter you'd see in a car's carburator filter. I don't see one in your video.
Love your video. I have a question. I just bough a used rainbow E-series and I can't take of the separator. It seems to be stuck. Any suggestions on how to take it off
To keep the motor from rotating while removing the retainer nut, the stem has a hex hole that you just counter hold with an 1/8 hex bit. That's what the hole on top of the stem is for.
instead of holding and bending the fan, on the end of the shaft that the nut is on there is a place for a allen head wrench to hold it while you remove the nut
I have an E Series and one day it just stopped. It would not turn on or anything. Absolutely nothing happens when you turn the fan or the vacuum on. It has to be something-a clogged filter or something, right? I haven't had it that long. Thoughts?
Where did you grab to get hold of the rotor? I couldn’t find a good place. I have a Rainbow E series single speed and plan on cleaning the whole thing out as you did in your video.
hi thnks for the video, do you know Gioel, italian tec. like, similar, raimbow process? it is without filter, only water. rain inside before separator and 100% clean air and molecular dejection. ciao
I took apart the handle to my E series because something was stuck in the top of the hose now i need help putting it back together. Not sure how it went. Once I opened it a wire feel out and a plastic piece from handle. Help!!
I recently took my E series apart but when I put it together again, the little fan on the top seems to be rubbing something and smells like melted plastic somewhere. I cannot see what could be causing this. Any ideas ?
Watch when you try to take the separator nut off, if it is frozen in there, your otta luck. I messed up the motor, trying to take that nut off. If you hold the fan and too much tension applied the fan will strip. Too bad it wasn't squared off on top, could have used pliers to hold the top, while taking nut off. Well... new motors are $235-275, from various sites.
This video just proofs that water filter and all that sales talk from clean air is rubbish, if the air would be filtered by the water and being so clean as they sell you would not see dust in the motor, it would be cleaner than clean

I have never none of a Rainbow motor that just gave out. What might need to happen is for you to replace the brushes on the motor :)
The nut on the separator is stuck!!! How do I get it off? Please let me know.. Thank you!
Mine stopped working suddenly, Is there a fuse inside?
Very helpful, thank you, every thing I needed to know!
