Felyne Insurance is the free cart and acts like a 4th additional faint, Moxie is an extra Guts, which allows you to get to zero health instead of carting. Misinformation like this infuriates me.
Technically you can have both Moxie and insurance. Then you get 2 extra chances. Though with moxie you need to recover your health in the field. Insurance you will cart but it won't count against you.
yeah i prefer getting insurance than moxie or guts skill, there is still a chance i got fucked up when i got up with 1 hp after the moxie/guts activates. i could make a habit of taking on tempered deviljho when i see Insurance on the daily skill
Not sure how you can watch this dude's vids without pulling all the hair out of your head then...It's like rubbernecking at the scene of a car crash for me at this point, though. I watch every time I see a new upload just to count the number of times he sounds like a fool...Like you, it used to irritate me. These days I make popcorn and settle in... ;)
6:50 That is blockable but if the amount of stamina you have left is not enough to withstand the hit you will take the hit even with the shield up Also if you go to the 2nd page of the menu there's a dish called Healthy Platter that with put any fresh ingredients that help you reach Felyne moxie if you don't want to keep making it manually (or you could just save any combination of Blue ingredients to reach it)
Midship End yeah it didn’t look like he was at 150 stamina when he started blocking so not enough stamina for the last hit. I main gunlance and haven’t had issues blocking that at 150 stamina. Plus some dash juice helps if your not running guard.
moxie doesn't give a free cart .... it stops you from getting one shot but if your poisoned or burning you'll still die from the tick after that felyne insurance gives a free cart and its a white food skill....
I only do Tempered Deviljho solo, and I always die with Bow because I'm not watching my surroundings when dodging. I literally corner myself and have no choice but to watch Deviljho touch me in all the wrong ways. X_x'
AUSseal - Yeah, they really aren't. I try to fight monsters, especially Deviljho, in open space like close to the first camp. Can't really corner yourself there so there's *SO MUCH* free space for dodging. Problem is that he doesn't always sit there, especially if you don't kill him fast enough. I've thrown flash pods, and made him flinch with items, and he just looks at me and starts walking away like he's mocking me. >_>
Krazytre the Assassin that's been all of my carts against him too. Never kills me with other stuff. But the moment I dodge into a corner he hits me 2-3 times in a row and that's where I cart.
Tremor resistance/+rocksteady/vitality mantle, blight resistance/dragon mantle, def down resistance/armor seed, health regen, 200health/switch to your mushromancer set for the buff and swicth back, bring thunder/dragon wep with shield, eat felyne moxie/insurance, flash pod when he eat jagras/any mons, pitiful trap when he get tired, dung bomb when he eat you, aim his head/belly/tail and you good to go!
fyi at 6:55 you CAN block that move, you simply ran out of stamina to do so. I'd also recommend felyne insurance over moxie but i suppose it isn't always readily available. That being said a combination of both could increase your chances by a lot. I'd also say arguably lance is better at simply surviving and blocking, also pretty good against jho's weak spots but that could come down to personal preference.
You are an absolute genius. I attempted with the glaive earlier today and failed but with the lance and tremor immunity I soloed him while only getting carted once because of a silly mistake. Thank you SO much for this video!
For everyone saying this game is easy honestly the game AI is much harder than the other mh. Along with the increased chances of getting stunned and the animation locks I find myself dying a LOT more than any other Grank quests. And I was hammering altraeon
I feel like most people werent ready for tempered jho including myself, having played 100+ quests without feinting once because of how easy the game was... i wasnt ready for my ass to get molested by a golden pickle.
2 things: guard up skill for shield users, tank everything he throws at you. Also I had an issue capping him last night, had him down to limping/skull on minimap/went to sleep in his den - I dropped 4 traps and 8 tranqs on him (obviously not all at the same time, recrafted in-field) and they all failed to cap him. Dunno if it was a bug or what cause I’ve capped him 4 other times with no issues.
Great guide! Been using evade distance+3 myself. Just khushala boots with a jewel you should be fine. Dodged every pickle atk. For those wondering, i used a lightbowgun Cap and kill is the same droprate. Not had a single hero stone over 10 hunts.
I adopted a support role and made a full support set just for this beast. Been seeing others adopt the same outlook and rock Wide range, Item prolonger and Speed Eating. First time I've ever went defensive and support in a long time.
Darker Worlds This is why Deviljho has always had the reputation of being a nightmare to fight in MH games for years now. xD Because he’d always start appearing on EARLY HIGH RANK in most MH games... However, on MHW he first appeared months after most players managed to reach the endgame and have the best gear like Elderdragon weapons and augmented armor. So obviously, they’re gonna be able to tank the regular high rank Deviljho. But once Deviljho becomes Tempered to reach their level?... Yeah.. Not as easy now, is it? xD
I was one of those, could not be happier with the tempered version. I love when a game pisses me off, that means its actually challenging. This pickle is worthy of its reputation.
Yeah I managed to bag the tempered pickle first try with a similar set and the rocksteady mantle for roar resistance. Really helps get off those cheeky chargeblade vile discharges and the elemental buff to the CB has made the new Jho CB very good damage despite loosing some attack in the armor set.
I’ve been soloing it repeatedly to farm for the Hero Streamstones, and I’ve gotten the quest down completely now. My lance build which I regen health like crazy with my augmented weapon and Vaal armor bonus, 500 defense, 200 health, and both the guard lvl 5 and guard up makes this thing hit like a feather.
a tips for CB/LANCE main, if you have Shield up you can counter the tremor effect (not the attack itself) cb with guardpoint and lance with the counter block with CB you will most likely get the yellow energy for 3 phials and well, lance you can just poke'em this is useful if you dont have tremor resist or you dont wanna throw away that dmg
Get 450 defence with augmented armor and you can tank 4 or 5 hits vs tempered deviljho. Get evasion +3 and ignore the tremors, oh and solo him. He's pretty easy when you literally cannot die. The fact that he can one shot people tells me that everyone forgot that defence is a stat. Yes, you have to augment your armor for tempered quests to be easy. And for everyone's sake keep flash bombs equipped to escape a pin, you can still use the Slinger when pinned. Also use hardshell powders to cure defence down on your teammates. Lastly if your playing with randoms...you've already lost. Haven't seen so many carts since event alatreon in mhtri. Sorry if this sounds elitist, but prep is the most important part of a hunt. If your gears weak, and your not an ace, your going to die.
Lol i have to agree, too many people getting carted not really a reason for it. They need to add Alatreon into the game, i miss actually having to put up a struggle.
Yeah totally agree going into fights prepared is key! I really want more people to spread the word for the love of bananas bring 3 Flashpods and 10 Flashbugs with you for almost every load out just do it please. My poor garden cannot keep up with all the randos that somehow made it to Higher HR without knowing what how to use their slinger or auxiliary items like boosters/mantles. Upgrade your gear I bet half the players are probably sitting on a mountain of armor spheres.I see these low Def scores far too often. Just like you said you better be tickling nearly 500def if you are serious about fighting tempered elders and stuff unless you are dodge/counter-zen master. I used to bring a full compliment of powders with me, but my garden could not keep pace, and I grew weary of farming for stuff instead of hunting monsters! C'mon hunters do your job! I'm a full time HH aka doot-doot. Feel free to join up on Xbl. Happy Gaming!
My build is guard 3, guard up, tremor res 3, defense lock 3, dragon res 3, recovery up 2, and go lance (xenojiiva for that 2 level 3 slots) Even without armor augment to increase defense, mine is still able to survive. But have to be patient and look for opening to heal, only attack when possible.
i use guard up from uragan. (don't have the gem jet) guard +4 on uragan and baroth helm, ataliry +3 carm. tizly gloves with 1 stun resist gem. and beazel gunlance. good dps and turtle capability. if you block his tremor you don't get the tremor. and don't cart from his one shot attacks. if you have a guard gem, use it for +5 guard. you wil thake no damage from his attacks. the only thing you have to do is dung pod beazel
Join random sessions cause other people ingredients add into yours as guest ones but only in astera canteen. When you're in the field they don't play in
Managed to cap him yesterday was built for roar and tremor nulification. Was using the Nerg lonsword and his roars and tremors would leave him open for a few seconds of good strikes.
Its the first tempered Monster with more HP than normal one right ? It must be, normal took me 8min in Multiplayer and 4-5min solo. Tempered took me over 35min in MP and 38 solo :0 i thought the fight will never End xd
Zetsuron I. I play with bow and Hit him nearly exact the same times Like the normal. He definitly has more HP, i would say more than 30% maybe 50% more
seregios Killa no his health isnt buffed at all it depends on how high your damage is. with my dragon piercer build ive beaten him in the same time all around. only difference there is comes when i got complete retards that get carted doing no damage.
I don't use Tremor but my usual build always contains Evade Window 5 and Dual Blades so I usually dodge everything it throws at me as long as I don't overly committed to attacking.
Yes, you can block all of Jho's attacks. Save for the one unblockable that he jump and then chow you with his mouth. You got hit while blocking there because you’re out of stamina. Not because that attack is unblockable. For this fight, I would recommend guard 3 and a vampire build. Also, play safe and don’t be greedy. This thing hit like a boulder.
@6:50 just want to point out that you didn't have enough stamina for that last attack, hence the rekt; otherwise, it would still be able to guard. Nice video btw!
The only difference between capturing and killing a Jho is that you can't get Scalps from capping (unless you also break the head). Scalps are only given at a chance from breaking the head and from carving, they _cannot_ come from the upper quest rewards.
Who cares if you fought the hardest jho in savage/deviant enraged off steroids whatever. I find “veteran players” increasingly annoying the more comments I read on monster hunter, get over it and yourself this isn’t the old games and this is not a g rank monster.
Eddie Serrano not in the smallest sake of the word, just a little annoyed every video I go to on the game it’s the same dick swinging contest about how my old game was way harder you plebs don’t know what it means to have a tuff time in monster hunter.
It's just typical trolls and elitists. Every community has their own little group of elitists that think they know everything about everything, and everyone that hasn't been playing the game as long as them, or isn't as good as them, is beneath them. I've learned from my years being on the internet that it's better to ignore them. They tend to spew nothing but absolute filth. Don't let them ruin your experience in the game. Some people don't cart against Tempered Deviljho while a lot of people do. I've carted a LOT against Deviljho since I'm using the Bow and practically any attack can one-shot me. Others haven't carted because they're using shields and can protect themselves, or are just better players. Basically don't let the vocal minority of elitists get you riled up.
Unbound, I hear you. Truly! But you gotta understand, they have the right to say anything as much as you do. Nothing wrong with being prideful at being one of the 1st few people to enjoy this franchise since it's inception and brag about it. It's no different than War Vets speaking about 'back in the dayz'. I'm not against you. But the way you sounded (the way *i* read your comment.) was _pretty dang annoyed_ so I had to assume you where triggered. Gotta learn to live with it. This *our* world, not just yours or mines. 😊
I upgraded build statwise to be more defensive. Bazel head beta bazel chest beta kushala claws beta bazel waist beta diablos legs beta and the charm that gives you divine protection.. do not know the name as for deco 1 earplug 3 health boost 3 ironskin 1 tremo yiu can use the weapon of your choice.. i use kirin lance and when i block i get just a little amount of dmg. and even without blocking a lot of attacks are takeable and even when it would kill you u dont die since bazels armor set buff giving me the skills Bazel Protection (ur foodbuff for free in the armor set) earplugs lvl5 tremoresistence lvl3 ironskin lvl3 healthboost lvl3 divine blessing lvl evade window lvl 2 and block lvl 2 i am not a great fan of the life reg from val.. so i changed it and took up skills i like more. Maybe that helps some people. ;)
I play healer/support during this fight. Mushroom mancer and wide range works wonders. Let the other 3 hunters attack while I over look everyone, keep them healed, flash whenever someone gets stunned, etc. If someone dies, I fail my mission. Just a different way of playing the game
Did this in 2nd try. Dual blade user here. The trick is just use flash pod whenever possible and quickly hit it. Use hit and run tactic for this one. Get as many grimalkyne help and if you have time get local monster as well. Using flash pod alot but the reward somewhat not so rewarding..so I just take it as a good experience
Eat for Felyne Insurance instead. It's more universally useful IMO. Also: A better way to get Tremor Resistance is using the charm for it, then, you can use the deco slots you saved from this to add Iron Skin decorarions until Lv3 to your skills, which completely prevents his Defense Down status. Then you could add in Guard+5 if you're really staying safe with lances or some offensive skills if you're on a weapon that can't block. Further, you can use vitality mantle to eat some hits without dying, and evasion mantle if you're confident you can dodge him. Make sure your armor is all augmented and upgraded to the maximum afterwards. Consume a Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin when starting the hunt. He shouldn't be able to oneshot you with most of his attacks after all of this, especially if you also use Health Boost Lv3. Soloing him with this setup might make him relatively easy compared to how hard he can destroy you if unprepared.
Don't forget that when blocking you also lose stamina, if you have no stamina you take a lot of damage. I tested it with my heavy bow gun with triple shield I lived through the triple chomp with minimal damage.
Amazing tips, but I can't stress enough: don't do this with SOS Flare/randoms. I had Felyne Insurance and had three of my teammates faint four times in less than two minutes. I gurantee you're going to be failing a lot if you're fighting with randoms.
I was lucky I got a competent team of randoms last night when I did it. Funnily enough, I'm usually the one that doesn't die but I was the only one to cart that time.
I can give the most simple advice for all monsters in the game. Memorize its moves, and timing with your weapon. I did that with tempered and regular monsters. And I only failed by mostly monster glitches.
Nice armor set and advice for people for tempered Jho, wish people would do it, too many times I've seen people just fainting over and over, mainly seen Dual sword peps endless carting, they should get a reward card for all those carts.
As one of the people complaining about easy Deviljho, I was happy with the tempered version when I felt i needed to actually play the game. I wasn't happy for long when I spent 25 min solo on him lol. I swear his health pool is bigger. I hit him more than usual with full buffs and it still took forever. Still a very fun fight. If I used a real build it might go faster though. I captured him, and didn't get any hero streamstones. R u sure ur not just really lucky?
Here is something that is good to know! Tempered JHO is exactly like Xeno Jiva! By that i mean when enraged his true weak spot appears, his chest. But the one difference is when normal is when his leg become a weak point ( when enrage they take normal damage ). I fought him 30 times so far i know what im talking about, my best time so far with LBG 11mnt 21sec!
Royal Burst with a mix set of bazel and Guard gear to get earplug 5, guard 5, Divine Blessing 3 and Guard Up gem among the usual weakness exploit and artillery 3. I Basically guard all his foot stomps and take no damage - guarding against both the tremor and the potential 1 shot itself. Its slightly less aggressive than I like to play with this set but as I'm sure most of you know this guy can't be taken lightly lol. Also TagBackTV he only rekd your guard because you ran out of stamina from the block spam - the only downside to blocking multiple hits is that it destroys your stamina without guard skills.
the "unblockable" attacked that you say wrecked you isn't actually unblockable, quite simply your stamina dropped too low and you didn't have what it takes to hold up the shield any longer, either eating a well done steak, drinking a dash juice or a combination of both should see you through the 3 hit combo just fine
yes! I am tired of people dying the moment I just landed in the quest, lol. good video giving some information for newcomers. anyway, you can guard all his 5 jaws attack if you have enough stamina, in your video, on the third attack you got hit because your stamina is depleted already. :)
I just cheesed it with guard level 4 and the nergigante lance.. not a lot of damage since I just stacked guard with urugan gear but you're able to block all of his attacks roars and tremor mega stomps completely take 0 chip damage and not stagger from tremors. I'm a trashcan at the game but safe pokes is easy mode.
Great vid man! For me, vouchers from Poogie aren’t every other quest. I just got 4 in a row today. I find that letting him follow you up the stairs and petting him right before the handler works a lot of the time. I went through a cold streak without getting any after 3 or 4 quests so I tried that.
I've been using insect glaive, longsword, hammer and when I really feel like telling him to fuck off I use my lance...I have gotten into many games where people use all of the downs before I get from the camp in the SAME AREA to fight...
It seems to be enough, to use just 2 tremor resistence jewels. I did, it worked. I was playing with a simular health regen build, but with vaal's lance and earplugs. I never died. Others did. A lot. (Mostly bow/bowgun...) Quest failed. But also, I never got any hero or warrior streamstones out of 10-12 (!) quests. So I quit for today, beeing quite unhappy with wasted time and absolutely no progress.
RNGesus hates some of us. I have 3 streamstones in 360 hours. And I do at least 1 tempered elder a day. And the first time I finally took down the tempered pickle... nothing. Yea, RNGesus is not my friend.
Lance is the way I did it the first couple times. I didn't have the uragaan gem so I did uragaan chest, hands and legs. Bazel helm and waste for earplugs with 1 earplug gem and a guard charm. It wasn't fast, but it was easy while I learned his moves. Can block everything even his big stomp without taking any damage through block.
1 shotted in max defense gear. With divine protection 3. Also I think him eating the jagra has something to do with it? Because he turns all gold after he eats it
Alright, I managed this with the insect glaive and a slight modification of the set. I have the alpha variants of Vaal Hazak already so I just rolled with what I had. I also haven't picked up any footing jewels so I had to use the charm and only had weakness exploit 2. It works, you do have to be a bit of a master at dodging to pull it off. But even without feline moxie I would have only carted once. With it I didn't cart at all. Mind you this is an exhausting 40 minute fight. And capture doesn't assure you will get any stream stones. As per usual I got none, but then RNGesus hates me.
I prefer earplugs lvl 5, guard lvl 5 and guard up if I'm going gunlance. Quick sheath comes in handy too. Still takes as long as 4 people doing it but hey I prefer those 3 faints be on me. Had a few hunts with random people on this and they eat up the faints so quickly.
the way i been doing this is final nerg glaive mix of dober and nerg with eye patch armor lvl 7 attack max might aggitator legit just get the 3 buffs sit under him and spam ur b or o attack on his legs or arms deppending on rage or not. and i almost never get hit while having exploint max might and aggitator with tremor gems takes me about 14 minutes solo
What about 3 pieces of Uragaan, 5 guard with charm and 3 Tremor Resistance. With the Uragaan perk and 5 guard can he still one shot you. With lance of course.
Uragaan Protection and Guard up to +5 with defense +5 or 6 and I can solo this a-hole with a gunlance without too many issues. Sometimes the best offense is a great defense.
That is not at all how moxie works. Felyne insurance can save you a cart, but moxie will only prevent you from getting one shotted. If you don't heal before taking more damage or you are on fire/poisoned/vulnerable to environmental damage, you will be carted.
I've been trying to farm Hazak fangs for the armor and am probably the most unlucky person. Done the damn hunt 15 times in a row, broke his head five times each hunt. No fangs. Any idea on how to get them guaranteed? Vouchers increase the amount of quest rewards but never a fang.
My first tempered Jho quest I captured and only got 1 warriors streamstone. Do you think they bugged his HP for this event? He seems to have WAAY more hp than normal.
You can block all of his attacks. You just ran out of stamina which is why that last attack hit you. :) I would add dash juice to your buffs to ensure you have the stamina needed.
The reason you couldn't block that attack was your stamina ran out not because it's unlockable. Also, you're incorrectly describing Moxie. It doesn't give you an extra faint, you just survive with 1 hp. You can easily die after Moxie procs. Insurance is what you want, which is random.
Its called Guard up Gem or 3 pieces of Uragaan armor for guard up. Which allows you block every attack, roars, wind pressure and tremors. If you use a shield for a fight like this you really should just rock Guard Up. I use it in my Lance build no matter what and let me tell ya. Being able to block everything trumps all.
Tigoreon James guard up isn't necessary for jho. There are some attacks that even guard up won't allow you to defend against. Rathalos grab is one of them and deviljho's pin is another. I'm pretty sure it's when he jumps straight up then back down. If he comes down on you with his head then you're caught.
TheBlackSage7 well that is completely false. I use Guard Up gem and it does block everything. When Jho stomps it block his ground tremors. When he roars it blocks that and when he tries to grab me it blocks that as well. And yes it even blocks the Rathalos grab. Hell I even got caught in one of Kushalas super tornadoes and walked out of it ever so slowly and safely while guarding with Guard Up. Is it necessary no of course not nothing is really necessary. So long as you survive. But if your using the Gunlance or Lance it makes a whole lot more sense to just use Guard Up than it does to deal with the weapon put away animation [which is long as fuck] to dodge. And ya I main the Lance with a Guard Up gem and have fought all the monsters multiple times including Tempered Jho and I block all his attacks without a problem with Guard Up.
I solo this thing and use fortify, and even with 640 armor he can still two hit you with his most basic attacks. I would try to get protection but i don't have the decoration. I'd rather farm tempered elders with the 15 min and 1 faint requirement over this pickle. Beat this quest 5 times out of my 8 attempts and only got 2 sullied streamstones from it, is the drop rate this bad or am i just unlucky?
My biggest issue with this monster atm, is noticing when he's simply moving or doing an attack half the time. He's easily the most convoluted telegraphed monster for me.
Makes tremor resist, life steal, and earplugs unnecessary. Just play smart and flash him when he has jagras in his mouth because you can block it without the guard up skill.
I was able to capture him once! I had to use every tools I have traps, flash pods, bombs etc. Also when he moves to a small map I had to dung pod Deviljho to move him to a larger area. Took me 28 mins to cap Jho and carted twice and I was using a bow. :(
Welp i think that's it for me and this game. After like 20 or 30 attempts with lgb, bow, charge blade, long sword all ending up with me being carted with nothing to show for my efforts, I'm all out of resources. I think i've had enough. I'm a solo player and while I have some learning/improving to do, I have managed to solo Nerg, Tempered Elders, Tempered Kirin, etc. From the non-tempered version, I expected him to be a challenge but I must really suck and made it this far by luck because I cannot see to best this guy. I mean what evil mechanics are at play here? After being carted twice, I my defense is almost 600 with 10 - 25 DR (depending on the set i'm using). How is it that he can barely bump into me and I'll instantly be carted? Furthermore, his size and speed and number of tools at his disposal are simply astonishing. Trying to dash away from his breath while screaming at my TV for my frigging toon to dash... UGH. Uninstalling..
These days I make popcorn and settle in... ;)
why are you watching?
Person Manz thank you, I was gonna comment this myself. I was like "Uhhhh.. Moxie doesn't do that"
6:50 That is blockable but if the amount of stamina you have left is not enough to withstand the hit you will take the hit even with the shield up
Also if you go to the 2nd page of the menu there's a dish called Healthy Platter that with put any fresh ingredients that help you reach Felyne moxie if you don't want to keep making it manually (or you could just save any combination of Blue ingredients to reach it)
Midship End yeah it didn’t look like he was at 150 stamina when he started blocking so not enough stamina for the last hit. I main gunlance and haven’t had issues blocking that at 150 stamina. Plus some dash juice helps if your not running guard.
Yep, came to say this. That's why he didn't block that last attack.
moxie doesn't give a free cart .... it stops you from getting one shot but if your poisoned or burning you'll still die from the tick after that felyne insurance gives a free cart and its a white food skill....
btw in German the quest is called "Sauergurke" what means in english "sour pickle" funny insider Imo :D.
Sektos Eisenherz The joke on our end is that Relish is basically shredded pickles
Hahaha that is much better!
it is one typ of relish, but I more like pinapple relish :)
The theme song for it is also derived from a pickle commercial
Paul Wall his theme song is from an orchestra piece, can't remember the name but it predates TV advertising
I only do Tempered Deviljho solo, and I always die with Bow because I'm not watching my surroundings when dodging. I literally corner myself and have no choice but to watch Deviljho touch me in all the wrong ways.
X_x'
i can't tell you how many times I've cornered myself using the bow... tempered Bazel bombs aren't fun when you are in a corner...
Krazytre the Assassin that's been all of my carts against him too. Never kills me with other stuff. But the moment I dodge into a corner he hits me 2-3 times in a row and that's where I cart.
i wish deviljoe molested me too
I mean... is it really molestation if you want them to do it to you? o_O'
MHW Players:"the end game is to easy"
Capcom:"Hold my beer"
LazyPanda 😂😂😂😂
😂😂👍 so true xD
Still Easy its nothing compared to Savage Deviljho.
LazyPanda Too easy, nothing compared to Ultra Beefed Up Hellbound Hell Sent Unstoppable Deviljho.
Warpath 375 yea this deviljho is the worlds biggest joke in world hes garbage and whoever dies to this one is garbage as well
fyi at 6:55 you CAN block that move, you simply ran out of stamina to do so.

His account name ends with joe? maybe he has a fetish for anything that relates/sounds like joe? xD
Freaky Behavior at first it was painful and humiliating but after a few sessions i began to accept the pain as a lesson in humility.
Joe Alexander the world would become a sea... xd.
For those wondering, i used a lightbowgun
Cap and kill is the same droprate.
Not had a single hero stone over 10 hunts.
I adopted a support role and made a full support set just for this beast. Been seeing others adopt the same outlook and rock Wide range, Item prolonger and Speed Eating.
First time I've ever went defensive and support in a long time.
lol and many were complaining about how easy Jho was what now? XD
Darker Worlds
This is why Deviljho has always had the reputation of being a nightmare to fight in MH games for years now. xD
Because he’d always start appearing on EARLY HIGH RANK in most MH games...
Badass Toad he's yet to achieved his full power version of G-Rank.
helmiboboy you forgot savage g rank jho
helmiboboy these scrubs don’t know what an actual hunt is because capcom has held our hands the whole damn time
My hunting horn saves a lot of people. I also take some life powder with me just in case it gets crazy :)
QTMK x pickle HH stands for hurtin horn
QTMK x i use mushroomancer and wide range with muh hurling hurn
What horn? The dragon bone horn for tremor res and dragon defense up?
donuts82 I use the bazel horn
please don't be a corner horner dude
Yeah I managed to bag the tempered pickle first try with a similar set and the rocksteady mantle for roar resistance. Really helps get off those cheeky chargeblade vile discharges and the elemental buff to the CB has made the new Jho CB very good damage despite loosing some attack in the armor set.
I’ve been soloing it repeatedly to farm for the Hero Streamstones, and I’ve gotten the quest down completely now. My lance build which I regen health like crazy with my augmented weapon and Vaal armor bonus, 500 defense, 200 health, and both the guard lvl 5 and guard up makes this thing hit like a feather.
a tips for CB/LANCE main, if you have Shield up you can counter the tremor effect (not the attack itself) cb with guardpoint and lance with the counter block
with CB you will most likely get the yellow energy for 3 phials
and well, lance you can just poke'em
this is useful if you dont have tremor resist or you dont wanna throw away that dmg
The reason why he "one shots" is cuz of Defense Down. He can make your defense go from 486 to 386.
My build is guard 3, guard up, tremor res 3, defense lock 3, dragon res 3, recovery up 2, and go lance (xenojiiva for that 2 level 3 slots)
Even without armor augment to increase defense, mine is still able to survive. But have to be patient and look for opening to heal, only attack when possible.
For your Blocking Problem with Deviljho have you consider have guard at 5 and guard up. With the gunlance they are the skill you really need
i use guard up from uragan.
Nice tips there! For the "unlockable deviljho attack" part you can't block because you are out of stamina :)
Not exactly sure because I haven't tried, but at 6:50 i think your block failed because you ran out of stamina
Have a flashbug equipped always. After he chews you up, you can flash the ground in front of you to not get carted.
Its the first tempered Monster with more HP than normal one right ? It must be, normal took me 8min in Multiplayer and 4-5min solo. Tempered took me over 35min in MP and 38 solo :0 i thought the fight will never End xd
depends on how often you hit it
So true pickle on big HP
Zetsuron I. I play with bow and Hit him nearly exact the same times Like the normal. He definitly has more HP, i would say more than 30% maybe 50% more
seregios KILLA Yes he has more hp, i failed the quest from a time out with insect glaive while beating his reg version like 4 times faster.
seregios Killa no his health isnt buffed at all it depends on how high your damage is. with my dragon piercer build ive beaten him in the same time all around. only difference there is comes when i got complete retards that get carted doing no damage.
I'm glad to see that Tempered Deviljho truly lives up to Deviljho's reputation as the Pickle Lord.
at 6:50 i believe your stamina was the cause of the hit. yo had no more to tank, ive tanked all 3 of those attacks + extra combos he throws in lol
@6:50 just want to point out that you didn't have enough stamina for that last attack, hence the rekt; otherwise, it would still be able to guard. Nice video btw!
This is the clearest mh World video i've seen.
Unbound Elitist are annoying. The good veterans just dont care and knows why the game is the way it is.
Someone's Triggered 😅
Unbound,
I hear you.
i killed him 2 times , 1 capture 1 kill ... no streamstones on both .. rng just hate me lol
I upgraded build statwise to be more defensive.
Bazel head beta
bazel chest beta
kushala claws beta
bazel waist beta
diablos legs beta
and the charm that gives you divine protection.. do not know the name
as for deco
1 earplug
3 health boost
3 ironskin
1 tremo
yiu can use the weapon of your choice.. i use kirin lance and when i block i get just a little amount of dmg. and even without blocking a lot of attacks are takeable and even when it would kill you u dont die since bazels armor set buff
giving me the skills
Bazel Protection (ur foodbuff for free in the armor set)
earplugs lvl5
tremoresistence lvl3
ironskin lvl3
healthboost lvl3
divine blessing lvl
evade window lvl 2
and block lvl 2
i am not a great fan of the life reg from val.. so i changed it and took up skills i like more.
Also:
A better way to get Tremor Resistance is using the charm for it, then, you can use the deco slots you saved from this to add Iron Skin decorarions until Lv3 to your skills, which completely prevents his Defense Down status.
Yeah, tremor res really does help. And thanks, because playing with armor trying to get tremor res in, I think I just created one of my favorite sets.
Don't forget that when blocking you also lose stamina, if you have no stamina you take a lot of damage. I tested it with my heavy bow gun with triple shield I lived through the triple chomp with minimal damage.
as a lance user with guard 5 and guard up i hold r2
Toocool312 guard up is useless against jho.
but guard 5 and power guard does do something
Toocool312 I'm all about that life.
TheBlackSage7 Wrong. Guard up on lance tanks anything Djoe has outside of tremor.
duh uragaan armor bonus set perk can guard against anything
6:35 you got wrecked, not because it's unblockable, but because you had no more stamina left to block
Just use dragon mantle and or rocksteady, then switch out health booster with either one if health is your issue.
Dont forget to bring adamant berries, cus it helps you survive and it negates the defense down.
And I recommend people focus on the tempered jho before the quest is gone. then leisurely farm the food tickets
hardshell powder, life powder, pitfall and shock traps ( not for just when hes weak)., flash pod and luck
Wish everyone knew these things. Vaal's set is so good, with that 20 attack with only 3 slots.
The Jemjr he does have a larger health pool then normal and yes you get tons of gems from him ive already got 6 of em after 5 runs
I got one my first run capture
This is the set ive been running in my glaive for a while now. I've gone 3/4 with jho so far. Takes about 30 mins though.
yes! I am tired of people dying the moment I just landed in the quest, lol.
good video giving some information for newcomers.
anyway, you can guard all his 5 jaws attack if you have enough stamina, in your video, on the third attack you got hit because your stamina is depleted already. :)
The free cart food skill is Felyne Insurance though, Moxie is still great to avoid dying
I went through a cold streak without getting any after 3 or 4 quests so I tried that.
seems like some sound advice. I'm going to try this build next time I fight him. I didn't even know about that feylne moxie
I've been using insect glaive, longsword, hammer and when I really feel like telling him to fuck off I use my lance...I have gotten into many games where people use all of the downs before I get from the camp in the SAME AREA to fight...
Hey I think you forgot a few key items that could help. They are meats. Drug, tang, poison, etc. They come way in handy
Klaus Bantzer yeah at this rate I even get more warrior streamstones from T2 investigations. Waste of time.
that is some shitty luck you got there. I average at least one hero stone per quest. sometime 2.
RNGesus hates some of us. I have 3 streamstones in 360 hours. And I do at least 1 tempered elder a day. And the first time I finally took down the tempered pickle... nothing. Yea, RNGesus is not my friend.
Since the streamstones are quest rewards, killing or capturing has 0 effect on how many you get, that's simply just not how quest rewards work.
As per usual I got none, but then RNGesus hates me.
i've been doing this for hours and haven;t gotten a single stream stone... been capturing every time, UUUUUGH.
What's the best way to get that Tremor Resist? Diablos greaves and a charm? I don't have a decoration for it.
Looks like you using poison weapon too, I have build 480 poison but Low damage. Do you time is good to take him down?
In a lot of cases you can block a tremor and a monster roar i would only slot tremor if i play without a shield
the way i been doing this is final nerg glaive mix of dober and nerg with eye patch armor lvl 7 attack max might aggitator legit just get the 3 buffs sit under him and spam ur b or o attack on his legs or arms deppending on rage or not. and i almost never get hit while having exploint max might and aggitator with tremor gems takes me about 14 minutes solo
What about 3 pieces of Uragaan, 5 guard with charm and 3 Tremor Resistance.
With the Uragaan perk and 5 guard can he still one shot you. With lance of course.
you can also cheese him :> with solo rng cannon build it takes ~3-5min pro run
Uragaan Protection and Guard up to +5 with defense +5 or 6 and I can solo this a-hole with a gunlance without too many issues. Sometimes the best offense is a great defense.
That is not at all how moxie works. Felyne insurance can save you a cart, but moxie will only prevent you from getting one shotted. If you don't heal before taking more damage or you are on fire/poisoned/vulnerable to environmental damage, you will be carted.
If i'm not mistake, saving you from getting 1 shot (carted) prevents a cart.
Lance+ Guard 5, Earplugs 5, Recover 3 and a lot of patience
soulsimplistic nah gunlance better more damage
soulsimplistic boooooring. I fight him with switch axe. Ita not too easy but also not that hard.
Fighting tempered pickle with dual blades is a damn nightmare.
I love how he shows the armor but not the jewels
6:50 you can block that, you just didn’t have enough stamina
You can block all of his attacks. You just ran out of stamina which is why that last attack hit you. :) I would add dash juice to your buffs to ensure you have the stamina needed.
The reason you couldn't block that attack was your stamina ran out not because it's unlockable. Also, you're incorrectly describing Moxie. It doesn't give you an extra faint, you just survive with 1 hp. You can easily die after Moxie procs. Insurance is what you want, which is random.
Tremor and earplugs both maxed out +50 to health plus take a max potion (200hp) if you can't beat it solo with that don't go in to anyone's sos
Is this a good quest to farm to try to unlock augmenting?
I highly recommend running lance been using my uragaan mixed set and you can guard through all his attacks
psa to all bow users its not worth dying for a fricken dp
I solo this thing and use fortify, and even with 640 armor he can still two hit you with his most basic attacks. I would try to get protection but i don't have the decoration. I'd rather farm tempered elders with the 15 min and 1 faint requirement over this pickle. Beat this quest 5 times out of my 8 attempts and only got 2 sullied streamstones from it, is the drop rate this bad or am i just unlucky?
If you wear 3 pieces of Uragaan, you can block anything, no matter what. At least if your weapon has a shield and you're blocking.
Felyne Moxie just prevents a one-shot and leaves you at 1 hp. Felyne Insurance is the skill you were talking about.
My biggest issue with this monster atm, is noticing when he's simply moving or doing an attack half the time. He's easily the most convoluted telegraphed monster for me.
If you have max block skill you can block everything but his grab stomp with no health loss and almost nonexistent stamina drain
What is a hunter to do if he is neither a gun lance user, nor has any tremor resist gems?
