The best advice for this fight is to do it solo with the palico on vigor wasp and a weapon that can block. I made a set with fire resist 3, defence boost 7, divine blessing 3 and guard up, combined that with a lance and vigor wasp and laughed at AT Teostra' futile attempts to do any damage.
Oh course. I personally solo AT monsters to get all the parts I need for the Gamma Set. After I have the full Gamma Set, I will then fight the AT monsters in MP just to challenge myself. 😇
@Sarincrow Well, there's also the fact that the monsters are less erratic in single player, especially if you leave the cat behind. This is a major and oft overlooked factor in why multiplayer is harder for people who got gud soloing.
If I want to almost guarantee a good game in general, I usually just go full support by running Jho HH with horn maestro + speed eating + mushroomancer + wide range + item prolonger + free meal. My damage is still alright as long as I keep playing most of the songs on Teostra. My support build also works for other monsters like Behemoth. The only problem is that it's an expensive build with all the eating, but free meal + item prolonger tries to mitigate that.
To keep my squad alive I used Tarth Pipe Tar for Fire Res Boost Large, bonus is this hunting horn has sleep. Also used Mushroomancer Lv 3 for buffs and heals with Wide Range Lv 5.
Manage to solo it with my Insect glaive. The most annoying part was that it kept runing away from me, other than that it wasn't too different from Tempered Teostra, have fire proof and temporal with the tool specialist and eat elemental large for survivability. Get max fire resistance and manage to fit 2 lvls of blast resistance (not sure if blast resistance is necessary only got it because the blast damage has been increased. Also having health boost helps. Also lance can tank the supernova, I did have max guard and guard up skills equipped

Hey, why not go with the empress boots alpha for the wide range? You get the same number of gem slots just 1 gem goes down a level. But it feels like a more than fair trade since you are gaining 2 skills. That would free up your charm for something else.
For some reason, I solo him much and get his gamma armor sets. Using deviljho LS + lunastra armor with drachen arms. Manage to survive his supernova with little HP.

I solo’d all the tickets using gun lance. Fireproof and temporal are very useful. I gathered all seven tickets needed in a few hours. Time consuming since I’m using gunlance and solo but no stupid deaths to waste time
Killed him 3 times solo with CB, LBG and Funlance. After that went to online and what do you know? We didn't defeat it even once in like 7 tries, because someone always carts (used LBG and carted a few times myself, because when you are using LBG and have around 480 defence in online, just by running at you he takes half of your current HP and damn he loves running). All that I understood about it is that you need all defence you can get, and at least 20 fire resistance. Also, preferably a weapon capable of blocking and Guard Up skill (yes, I know how hard it is to get this jewel) to block his nova, or at least evade extender to get away as fast as possible - it helps big time. You don't really need any level of Guard to block it, only Guard Up, although with Guard your recoil should be minimal, but that's not that relevant. Also augmented weapon on health are pretty neat, because his aura melts your HP bar like a piece of butter on a frying pan in a hot day. Edit: by the way, all the times that I was in online everyone kept flashing his Nova even if no one was even near him. Please don't do it if he is not going to catch anyone - if you let him explode, he will lose his shield and he will become vulnerable for regular ammo and arrows in body until next shield, wich can increase overall damage.
you only Need 20 fire resistance to negate fireblight, solid survival guide, i feel like survival skills are really underutilized by the community, while max attack bone underwear set seems to be overly present
I did a solo on this.. its dying already, broken horns, cut tails, and.broken wings.. and I fcking died on the last process. 3 times when its fcking dying. I use insect glaive.
I've like 560 + defence.. with 32 fire resistance... Though attack isn't so good... About 100 damage fully charge on bow.. and 100 on gs single hit.... But beat him over a dozen times solo.. and couple of times with randoms
I personally use them just so I’m not tempted to flash him and can beat him more *ahem*...“legitimately”. The down side to the Crystalburst is that they don’t get rid of his “Elder” armor as far as I’ve seen so far. So sometimes I just let him explode to get rid of it if I’m at a safe distance and other times I just deal with it using my Elderseal weapon after stunning it.
Taroth water bow, fireproof mantel and good timing is all it needs. Solo`d the whole armor myself, for the remaining 2 tickets for the layered armor I helped others (sometimes a pain I must admit)

E K if you have time to flash then all is good. But if you know you won't make it to shoot a flash pod then superman dive is a better choice. But I'll say this flashing the nova successfully will open up a time for dps. Idk if you know this. Maybe your jho LS would know lol
I think having at least 20 in Fire (or whatever element) resistance in the armor is good enough not to get fire (or whatever element) blight. You can actually go for Elemental Resistance up small in the canteen and go for Attack / Defense up medium :)
I beat it solo but I wish I could help others. Why can’t I you say? Well they don’t play a role, they just want to do damage. I love being a support but it’s sad to see Hunters that all they care for is damage and they get nowhere.
Yeah shot up a SOS on the 3rd go to see how it went one WR 5 support showed up. Still couldn't say the Great sword user that showed up and carted thrice.
Mid Air You're using the wrong weapon then for it, use it with great sword and dual blades mainly. And if you're moaning about the look, there is a thing called layered armour.

Hey my normal longsword build has 503 base defense, you should do a video on this build. Nerg head, drachen everything else. Divine slasher, 7 crit boost, 4 attack boost, 3 handicraft, 3 weakness exploit, 3 crit boost, 2 max might, 1 elementless, 1 power prolonger, 1 sharpe. It hits for 180+ roundslash in training area. I think it's the strongest LS build innthe game. The sliver of white sharpness can last forever because you have 55% base crit with max might and 50% with weakness exploit so you always crit paired with the Drachen set bonus means you dont lose sharpe on crits, plus the sharpe jewel. It's IMO the best DPS in the game if youre hitting your foresight slashes and spirit helm breakers in red (which are seriously near like 800-900 dmg)
Oh and i dont even have the augment I want on the divine slasher, attack up, which would probably push roundslash to 200+ dmg and helmbreaker to 1k+ im thinking.
@@MFD00MTR33 You have to factor in the 30%+ dmg from crit boost and 10% dmg from white sharpness, 10% from elementless all of that stackable dmg will turn +13 dmg into a lot more.
40% + from crit boost sorry. At this point in the build so much raw dmg is stacking if you add a might seed or whatever it wont be the same dmg it would be without all of the damage percentage increases
Drew Halfhand i am using a very similiar build with a deviljho longsword with 2 critical chance augments it schould be way better for endgame because of the high elderseal and the dragon attack
Everyone is saying this is easy but I'm finding this so god damn hard that it's extremely frustrating for me because no matter what I do I can't seem to beat him. I genuinely am struggling beyond belief with this. I'm using a heavy bowgun and would appreciate any tips
augment your armor and max it out and make sure you have all 4 buff charms on your pouch (strange how many people think they work in the item box....), 20 fire resist minimum, shield deco if you have it and at least one guard mod on the HBG, 3 vitality gems or maxed health charm for the HP (+meal buff, add items to get food hp to 50 as needed, should have 200 HP after everything). Not necessary, but recommended: stun immunity (steadfast decorations) max quick sheath skill (this will give you a chance to put your HBG away and flash pod in case you are with people equally slow at sheathing or too stupid to flash) 40 fire resist, honestly you may need 30 or more to survive his super breath attack (the slow one), which is a bigger risk for ranged players. If this 1-shots you, you need more resist. May be a good idea to solo a practice run just to see if you can take the hits before risking other peoples time and frustration. Last advice I can offer is this: slow and steady wins the race, better to take 40 minutes to finish than 5 minutes to fail.
1) You wanna have full evade extender for HBG. 2) Embrace sleep bombing which you can easily do with several HBGs. 3) Use sticky ammo to try to control the fight. AT Teostra likes to run around the battlefield, and sticky ammo to a monster's face will KO the monster. Also the Sticky ammo isn't affected by range so you can go really far and sticky his head in relative safety 4) Always fire and move. You have Greatsword speeds when moving with the weapon drawn. Don't get suckered into prioritising the number of rounds fired. Focus on safety. 5) Clusterbombing in conjunction with sticky bombing is an excellent way of going about the fight, punctuated with sleep bombing. Use these ammo types to your advantage because they ignore Teostra's fire shield. 6) As a gunner you'll be taking heavier melee hits from monster so spare no expense and augment your armor and pack mega demondrugs, mega armorskins, demon and lifepowders. 7) Equip your palico with the cheerhorn just in case because it can provide anti-stun.
I am going to try your build on my Jag great sword see how it does 4 me I was wondering though because I been told and seen that it is 20 resilience to not have blight damage in that element I see you say 25 here looked at some of the comments didn't see anyone else mention it I been doing 20 for a while now ran teostra earlier don't think I got fire blight so not sure if I am right or wrong I will be testing it more just figured I mention it I guess and see what is said..
Like Val Hazak, I've been finding it WAY easier to go solo... Fire/Ice daggers, Earplugs/Stun Resist, Kulve taroth and Bazel armor for good heat resist and you're good to go

How to get the flawless and tenderizer jewel? All jewel i got is a stupid and useless. Never beat arch tempered monster yet because i know it’s going to be a tough battle. Even lunastra alone take me about 35minutes solo. Sigh.
I expected more of a challenge with this guy. For me, teostra was one of the easier elder dragons to fight, I was hoping they changed a significant amount to be harder, like what they done with Vaal. AT vaal was so much more difficult, and I loved it, but toaster over here just left me wanting a better fight. Oh well, extreme behemoth should fix that, by that, I mean the crappy randoms I get to fight it with...

I'm in the process of trying to learn the hunting horn, both for arch tempereds and for behemoth (I _still_ haven't beaten that fucker). Have a few I got from Kulve Taroth along with the Empress Roar "Ruin", the Queen Vespoid Horn, and the Desolation's Overture. I don't have any sonorous jewels, though, and only one tenderizer jewel. May have to go farm threat level 2 tempereds for jewels and the pickle for horn parts...

Kamikazi i lol just used my regular builds on him and only died once in the 7 hunts I did on him. And I had -8 to 7 fire resist(depending on the build I am using) I you're used to the moves and easy to adapt no need to build around a monster.
It’s not in the base game of the PC version but will be added later along with the other DLC monsters so far. I don’t think there’s any specific dates yet for when this DLC will drop, but the DLC monsters are supposed to come a lot more quickly than the console versions from what I heard (at least until the PC version catches up with the console version).

Ryan Conley yea. I main glaive and bow but I very rarely get shaft streamstones ='(. But I have like 10 each of the other ones. I guess this is the games way to force you to play other weapons.
Hydration Requirements doesn't really force you to use other weapons. I struggled through the farming until I augmented all the axe weapon I mostly use and now I have extra axe stream stones

easy, but for pure DPS builds that can't take a single hit, that one mistake is all it takes at this level. Too many people don't understand that 20 fire resist + 10 def is more valuable than 3 attack decos, or the joys of 50 more HP, or can't be bothered to max out their armor cuz 'too much work brah'....
KellarJS Lmao yesterday I tried the quest for the first time shooting an SOS. Played with a chinese, a japanese and a portuguese guy. Chinese fainted twice, then I got stunned and fainted so we lost :l But then I tried solo and beat it.
Uhhh high fire rez it takes three jewels and almost any set with any non negative fire resist and I guess cause noobs need to be told basic shit add some anti blast as well or don't suck it's not that hard
It IS the easiest Arch-Tempered Elder Dragon to fight... solo, that is. Even now, people keep dying and doing stupid stuff, like throwing Flashes for no reason (or worse, when I've mounted Teostra... I'm like FFS!) and dying to the Supernova... Last night, after said flash while I was mounting Teo, which was almost dead, it goes into Supernova, same guys tried to Flash him out if it... only to realize that it has become immune to flashes... smh

Dude I cheesed him with Mega bombs and Farcaster. When he sleeps, place the bombs and wakeup with your strongest move (I used the Greatsword). Then Farcaster back to camp, replenish bombs and repeat lol

You can tank it with Lance as long as you have guard up, you don't need the 5 guard set. Hope it helps anyone!

I stacked 38 fire resistance and 497def by having 2lunastra+3kolve taroth pieces+3fire resis jewels, without losing much DPS. Real hard to get killed.
20 is the threshold for any elemental resistance that prevents that elemental blight

You can roll off blast blight, and the fireproof mantle reduces damage done by fire based attacks (which can allow you to take a supernova)
Can't mantle all the time, long cooldown even with the tool specialist skill.

I think having at least 20 in Fire (or whatever element) resistance in the armor is good enough not to get fire (or whatever element) blight. You can actually go for Elemental Resistance up small in the canteen and go for Attack / Defense up medium :)
I beat it solo but I wish I could help others. Why can’t I you say? Well they don’t play a role, they just want to do damage. I love being a support but it’s sad to see Hunters that all they care for is damage and they get nowhere.
Yeah shot up a SOS on the 3rd go to see how it went one WR 5 support showed up. Still couldn't say the Great sword user that showed up and carted thrice.

Hey my normal longsword build has 503 base defense, you should do a video on this build. Nerg head, drachen everything else. Divine slasher, 7 crit boost, 4 attack boost, 3 handicraft, 3 weakness exploit, 3 crit boost, 2 max might, 1 elementless, 1 power prolonger, 1 sharpe. It hits for 180+ roundslash in training area. I think it's the strongest LS build innthe game. The sliver of white sharpness can last forever because you have 55% base crit with max might and 50% with weakness exploit so you always crit paired with the Drachen set bonus means you dont lose sharpe on crits, plus the sharpe jewel. It's IMO the best DPS in the game if youre hitting your foresight slashes and spirit helm breakers in red (which are seriously near like 800-900 dmg)
Oh and i dont even have the augment I want on the divine slasher, attack up, which would probably push roundslash to 200+ dmg and helmbreaker to 1k+ im thinking.
1 attack augment won't do that much more damage. It's nice but I think health regen is nice to get health back in case you get hit.
@@MFD00MTR33 You have to factor in the 30%+ dmg from crit boost and 10% dmg from white sharpness, 10% from elementless all of that stackable dmg will turn +13 dmg into a lot more.
40% + from crit boost sorry. At this point in the build so much raw dmg is stacking if you add a might seed or whatever it wont be the same dmg it would be without all of the damage percentage increases
Drew Halfhand i am using a very similiar build with a deviljho longsword with 2 critical chance augments it schould be way better for endgame because of the high elderseal and the dragon attack

Everyone is saying this is easy but I'm finding this so god damn hard that it's extremely frustrating for me because no matter what I do I can't seem to beat him. I genuinely am struggling beyond belief with this. I'm using a heavy bowgun and would appreciate any tips
augment your armor and max it out and make sure you have all 4 buff charms on your pouch (strange how many people think they work in the item box....), 20 fire resist minimum, shield deco if you have it and at least one guard mod on the HBG, 3 vitality gems or maxed health charm for the HP (+meal buff, add items to get food hp to 50 as needed, should have 200 HP after everything).
Not necessary, but recommended:
stun immunity (steadfast decorations)
max quick sheath skill (this will give you a chance to put your HBG away and flash pod in case you are with people equally slow at sheathing or too stupid to flash)
40 fire resist, honestly you may need 30 or more to survive his super breath attack (the slow one), which is a bigger risk for ranged players. If this 1-shots you, you need more resist. May be a good idea to solo a practice run just to see if you can take the hits before risking other peoples time and frustration.
Last advice I can offer is this: slow and steady wins the race, better to take 40 minutes to finish than 5 minutes to fail.
1) You wanna have full evade extender for HBG.
2) Embrace sleep bombing which you can easily do with several HBGs.
3) Use sticky ammo to try to control the fight. AT Teostra likes to run around the battlefield, and sticky ammo to a monster's face will KO the monster. Also the Sticky ammo isn't affected by range so you can go really far and sticky his head in relative safety
4) Always fire and move. You have Greatsword speeds when moving with the weapon drawn. Don't get suckered into prioritising the number of rounds fired. Focus on safety.
5) Clusterbombing in conjunction with sticky bombing is an excellent way of going about the fight, punctuated with sleep bombing. Use these ammo types to your advantage because they ignore Teostra's fire shield.
6) As a gunner you'll be taking heavier melee hits from monster so spare no expense and augment your armor and pack mega demondrugs, mega armorskins, demon and lifepowders.
7) Equip your palico with the cheerhorn just in case because it can provide anti-stun.
I don't party.... solo only can't rely on other peoples "skill" prefer to rely on my own.
I can only beat him solo every time I am in a group they die every time to stun and supernova.

can also use charge blade to ko him outta the supernova if its set up right, creates an amazing moment to do crazy dmg to him
I am going to try your build on my Jag great sword see how it does 4 me I was wondering though because I been told and seen that it is 20 resilience to not have blight damage in that element I see you say 25 here looked at some of the comments didn't see anyone else mention it I been doing 20 for a while now ran teostra earlier don't think I got fire blight so not sure if I am right or wrong I will be testing it more just figured I mention it I guess and see what is said..
The crystal something you can use in your slinger will stop arch tempered teostra from his aoe after your flash pods become useless.
I honestly haven't fought arched Theo yet but he seems easier than the past arched monsters

Fire/Ice daggers, Earplugs/Stun Resist, Kulve taroth and Bazel armor for good heat resist and you're good to go

How to get the flawless and tenderizer jewel? All jewel i got is a stupid and useless. Never beat arch tempered monster yet because i know it’s going to be a tough battle. Even lunastra alone take me about 35minutes solo. Sigh.
I expected more of a challenge with this guy. For me, teostra was one of the easier elder dragons to fight, I was hoping they changed a significant amount to be harder, like what they done with Vaal. AT vaal was so much more difficult, and I loved it, but toaster over here just left me wanting a better fight. Oh well, extreme behemoth should fix that, by that, I mean the crappy randoms I get to fight it with...

I'm in the process of trying to learn the hunting horn, both for arch tempereds and for behemoth (I _still_ haven't beaten that fucker). Have a few I got from Kulve Taroth along with the Empress Roar "Ruin", the Queen Vespoid Horn, and the Desolation's Overture. I don't have any sonorous jewels, though, and only one tenderizer jewel. May have to go farm threat level 2 tempereds for jewels and the pickle for horn parts...

Kamikazi i lol just used my regular builds on him and only died once in the 7 hunts I did on him. And I had -8 to 7 fire resist(depending on the build I am using) I you're used to the moves and easy to adapt no need to build around a monster.

It’s not in the base game of the PC version but will be added later along with the other DLC monsters so far. I don’t think there’s any specific dates yet for when this DLC will drop, but the DLC monsters are supposed to come a lot more quickly than the console versions from what I heard (at least until the PC version catches up with the console version).

Hydration Requirements doesn't really force you to use other weapons. I struggled through the farming until I augmented all the axe weapon I mostly use and now I have extra axe stream stones

KellarJS Lmao yesterday I tried the quest for the first time shooting an SOS. Played with a chinese, a japanese and a portuguese guy. Chinese fainted twice, then I got stunned and fainted so we lost :l
But then I tried solo and beat it.
Uhhh high fire rez it takes three jewels and almost any set with any non negative fire resist and I guess cause noobs need to be told basic shit add some anti blast as well or don't suck it's not that hard

Last night, after said flash while I was mounting Teo, which was almost dead, it goes into Supernova, same guys tried to Flash him out if it... only to realize that it has become immune to flashes... smh

Dude I cheesed him with Mega bombs and Farcaster. When he sleeps, place the bombs and wakeup with your strongest move (I used the Greatsword). Then Farcaster back to camp, replenish bombs and repeat lol
