1) sweat until your thumbs are slipping off your controller joysticks 2) say things in chat that you'd never say to anyone for any reason in any other context. be sure to trick the censor filters, and do your best to bully the rest of the players to the point that they question their own existence. for added effect, ignore the game and take 30-60 seconds to slowly type out your messages with your controller, even if it means you miss a kickoff or save (this asserts dominance) 3) always remember, if you mess up or your team loses, it's 100% your teammates' fault (this should be combined with #2 for maximum effect). try to think back... you've been practicing for six weeks, you've watched at LEAST five videos like this one, you binge jon sandman videos, and you even tune in to pro games from time to time. so there's NO WAY you might be doing something that caused you to lose, and as everybody knows, none of it comes down to chance at all 4) ballchase, ballchase, ballchase! passing is for cucks even when it's obviously the better option. this one is VERY often looked over by higher level players. 5) much like #4, and contrary to popular belief, one should never rotate. be sure to stay as far away from your own goal as possible so that if the other team scores it is obvious to everyone in the replay that it wasn't your fault. an added bonus here is that you're upfield, so if your trash teammate makes an excellent longshot for the tenth time that game, by some MIRACLE, you can be sure to sneak in and steal it to show him who's boss 6) when playing with a teammate who is clearly better than you, but somebody messes up, make sure to blast the best player relentlessly, even if it was 100% obvious to everyone that he wasn't at fault. rage quit, for maximum effect, ESPECIALLY if you're the weak link (this will teach the better players to tone it down and stop being better than you!) 7) NEVER have fun. this game is NOT for fun. it is to be taken as seriously as education, career, and your marriage. if you aren't raging, you're doing it wrong (a commonly recommended metric is "a controller a week") You could sum this all up with an easy to remember phrase: "EGO IS EVERYTHING. HUMILITY IS FOR SUCKERS." The best players are extremely toxic and egotistical, so you should emulate that at all cost, even if you have to sacrifice your own happiness and/or mental health, or that of those youre playing with/against.
one thing that I find weird and sometimes annoying is most people think that 2v2 is everyones main rank but for me and I'm guessing alot of other people its 1v1 and I honestly dont really like 2v2 unless it's with someone I know (i dont even know if this made any sense lol)
You know, I was stressed about school, but for some reason your video made me think of a way to spread out my work and still finish it on time. Thanks!
Playing in leagues has really helped me out! Ever since you shouted out Indy Gaming League for their fall circuit my buddy and I have played in it and ranked up from D1 to almost C2 as well as playing in championship match this week!
For warming up, I always do every shooting training, and every goalie training that's on the featured list. It usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes and then once I go into games I feel warm enough to go straight into ranks and perform well
There are couple of things in this video which I strongly disagree: 1. Rocket league needs a ton of hours like 1.5-2k hours just to get your game sense and mechanics ready for the next level. So in this "beginning" phase (80% of players?) The more you put hours in the faster you rank up. Nothing more to that and saying that playing other games helps you rank up is staight up misleading (if youre not in the top 20% with thousands of hours). 2. Changing your settings regulary is one thing that most of the pros also disagree. The most important thing is to be consistent and the more you change things the more mistakes you are inevidently going to make. Sure if you are missing major mechanics like air roll left/right you need to add at least one after 500+hours of gameplay. But if you take a look at a few pro settings and feel the best for you then I'd stick with that if there is not something that really is bothering you when playing. 3. When you make a mistake in ranked try to figure out why was that. Not necessarily practise in games and let your teammates die in frustration. Ie. You can half-flip in free play but not in games? For me at the beginning it was because I was running without ballcam in freeplay and in games ballcam caused me to flip little bit to the sides. Solution -> go to free play and do the flips with ball cam on. Otherwise great tips and entertaining video!
1:47 .... as if anyone is gonna work on their passing... All anyone cares about is their solo plays. you can practice all you want... If you solo queue... They won't be ready for a pass. Just how it is. if you're in comms... Then passes are much more doable
I'm a bronze but in 1v1 duel I'm a sliver II and I'm actually trying to practice more in competitive, I know it's a bit of a reach but could you teach me. If you can teach me you will need my user wont you, it is: Rose Wolf 12#205
This is for people who are all ready good and your teammates can hit the ball because they are in a high rank and for people like me who are stuck in a rank well below where they were or where that think/should be this probably isn’t for you
Why does he really push spending money on getting better? There are so many tutorials out there and sure some ppl might want to spend some money bc they're dedicated to the game but to assume every common player needs to spend money or you wont learn as good is just dumb
This all will be great tips if only both of my teammates don't ball chasing the entire game. I'd be a miracle if they can centre the ball after they ball chasing the entire time.
My warm up routine: 1. Hitting the ball around at max speed in free play trying to get power and height 2. Shooting Training packs 3. Saving training packs 4. Shadow defence training packs 5. Wall play training packs 6. Play a few casual games (so your ready for ranked).
My biggest problem is patience I’ve been learning to play less aggressive & more passive in certain scenarios. Sometimes you just gotta be patient & work & improvise off of the opposing team’s mistakes.
playing different games really helps me out. After some other games I turn back and I play RL very well and confident. But after a long time it makes me feel like I can't event hit a straight ball, thats when I start to pause for a while

This is for people who are all ready good and your teammates can hit the ball because they are in a high rank and for people like me who are stuck in a rank well below where they were or where that think/should be this probably isn’t for you
You only need two things to win in rocket league:
1. Score
2. Don't let the opponent score
See, easy?
