One thing I’m frustrated with is having to have 2fa to trade. Somehow when I used to play fortnite I made two accounts with the same email and now I can’t set it up. I was just getting into trading a finally got my favorite decal, (interstellar) and then I just couldn’t trade anymore.
One of my biggest problem with RL is the lack of actual casual mode and what I mean by it is the casual MMR. Casual MMR makes it so that I, a c2, am playing GCs in casual and to be honest that doesn't make games very casual. Making the casual MMR effect even less on match searching could also make casual more playable for those teams with big skill cap and then you could make ranked work in a way where you can't queue ranked with too big MMR cap, because games where that cap is present are kind of uneven experience, sometimes too easy and sometimes too hard depending on the skill of the carry. The current casual MMR basically makes it that there's no point ever queueing casual.
@@realtechhacks Yes but people who doesn't play casual have so low mmr that for example gc plays vs silver and if you have low casual mmr you're going to play vs freestylers and you won't be able to touch the ball and if you have high casual mmr you might as well play ranked. I don't think there is any solution for it and it's just sad.

I’m pretty sure the North America tournament servers are actually located in US Central. The reason is because when I play ranked on east or west servers my ping is around 30-50. But when I play in tournaments on NA tourney servers it’s like 12 ping. For reference, I live in Colorado.
I have a question. Is it ok to own a second account for freestyle practice? Only playing in casual, of course. The opponents will be much lower leveled than you, but it’s in casual
In current stage of the game you can create new account and just play ranked (you're friend has to queue) and you don't even need 10th lvl. I hate it but it's just how it is. People are using it to smurf and it's annoing af but that's just how it is.

I feel like devs specifically avoid these videos. Like these vids always point out vital things that would improve the game tremendously and they're just never added or improved on. Especially voice chat it's been in the game since launch and never fixed.
They should make smurfing a lot more difficult. I would say put the MAC-adres and IPadress of every player in a database, check the MAC address and IPadress of the player against this database, is there a match?, then ban straight away. By checking against MAC address you at least not prevent people in the same network of not being able to play on another account. The only issue that arises with this is that you can't share a pc with, for example, your brother that plays rocket league too. (because of that MAC-adres and IPadress being the same). It's not waterproof, since MAC addresses can be spoofed too, but it will be a lot harder this way. There needs to be done something.
If they didn’t go off the highest player then it would make smurfing even worse. And if you are playing with a higher person use that to push yourself into a higher skill level
Well in my case , I played a lot more and got to champ 1 while my friend had less time to play and is know plat 3. So now when we play together, we sometimes just get outplayed hard. But I have to say I only dropped to Diamond 3 div 2 and last time we won a lot and I got back to champ 1. So I guess even with the difference in car control , when you rotate well and can communicate you can still beat a lot of teams at higher ranks.
4:19 Install Bakkesmod and turn on competitive MMR and queue up with someone higher or lower ranked than you. You will see that the MMR of your opponents is lower than the higher MMR player's but higher than your's. It's far from a perfect system but it does sort of help. If you're on console I can give an example for you. Yesterday I was playing casual. I am at about 1630 casual MMR, and I was solo queuing. I joined a match and the opponents were partied up. I checked their casual MMR and one was at 1675+ while the other was at 1550. Me and my teammate were both about 1630 MMR. So, to conclude, Rocket League does do a bit of balancing, at least in the lower ranks (gold-low diamond) but they can't do any extremes without potentially breaking the balance of their MMR system.
I know how to fix the smurfing problem, charge $29.99 for the game. The quality of content has gone WAY down hill since Epic took over. I miss the old days.
Do people have a problem with mmr? I’m on console so I can’t SEE actual mmr, but me, a plat 2, plays with my D2 friend and usually what happens is we play against one D2 and one P2. Maybe it gets harder at higher ranks, but that’s my experience. I never seemed to have those issues.
Not 100% but quite sure that Psyonix does, or at least did include the send in and receive signal lag into the ping. Most others say "ok, 30 ms from client to us ist 30 ms", wehere in RL it at least was from client to server and back making 60
They need a tutorial system that is more advanced, such as more basic mechanics and rotation tips. They could even pay a rocket league coach like virge to voice over the tutorials and help lower-rank players get a lot better. It would be very cool for the UI for the users in the lobby to have a style bar like ESPN where it shows scores from RLCS and collegiate, and maybe 6mans scores. This will help people be engaged with esports. They are already very similar, but they could put more effort into it. They could also add a choice for your favorite esports team and change the UI to whichever team you choose and use their colors. There is so much they could do to this game and hopefully they make the right choices.

There should be a thing that the mmr averages with your team like both of your friends have a 500mmr and you have a 1000mmr it should average to 666mmr it won’t fix the smurfing problem but it will make playing with friends more fun
I would love different permanent game modes. Even making heatseeker a permanent mode would make the game better. Lately I’ve been playing a lot of Dropshot instead of casual or ranked trios and it’s actually really fun. It feels good to play something different every once in a while.
I never play the temporary modes because you don't have enough time to get good at them and nobody is going to make videos about how to play them really well.
@@christiantaylor1495 With certain ones I didn’t need a lot of time to understand how to play. For example, with heatseeker I quickly learned that I would have to get better at aerials to have a chance to win. But I did have difficulty with spike rush, so I do understand where your coming from with certain modes. You can join custom tournaments that have heat seeker and spike rush and some other modes as well. It’s helped me get better at these modes, when they return as a LTM I actually have a chance to win.
Yeah RL definitely needs smurf prevention, because before free to play smurfs were rare because you had to pay 20$ to get a smurf. Now it’s just free, maybe psyonix should get a team that analyzes games to determine whether someone is smurfing, or throwing, because both are not allowed, they need to start enforcing rules, have smurf punishments not only go on the smurf account but on their main account as well to really deter the practice. Smurfs also throw to stay in the rank they are in.
Your videos are lackluster as of late, most of the things you point out are valid concerns but youre not giving any solutions, youre just ranting. Yh I don't get why people get tilted in casual 🤣 but what I hate most is when a guy comes into a ranked game on full tilt already. Double commits on the kick off, then does everything wrong and leaves within the 1st minute. Like come one , just dont queue up then 😅 now I don't really care to lose a match like that , because I am playing to become better at the game , the rank will happen eventually when just focusing on that. u know all eu and middle east play in same server cuz some internets dont support middel east servers so i play on 98on eu ping instead my friend play on 50 ping on middle east

The central servers thing, yes absolutely please, im in US Central and i average between 90-150 ping per match and have to queue for both west and east, my friend who's in US West, averages around 20-50, it's frustrating
Did Psyonix legit say the voice chat is about their ESRB rating? If so, are you okay with the fact that they blatantly lied to your face? 1. Online activities are not included in the ESRB rating for pretty obvious reasons. No developer has control over what people say/do online, and while they *can* ban people, there's no way to proactively prevent it from happening. Thus, ESRB ratings are for single player/offline modes only. 2. The game *has* voice chat. It's just broken. There's nothing preventing you from screaming out an F-bomb in voice chat and everyone hearing it. The only thing their broken voice chat will do it distort the hell out of it and drop packets. So it'll come out as "FU-zzzz-POP YOU BU-zzzz-POP-DY!"

dude rocket league servers SUCK.... i live in india and theres not a single server im guaranteed to get good ping on... normally when queuing on middle east rarely i gt 8-16ping.... and most of the times i get 160-200ping... where theres a specific type for middle east servers with english name which giv me 40-60ping... y does this game not hv enough brain to queue me in servers i get good ping on.... recommended sends me to NA!!! for 300ping like bruh tf
After 2 years when this video was posted, Rocket League only get's less populated. With trading and potentially training removed in December, the content features of the game will be gone. Also another point of importance is how difficult it is to get new items. It's either locked by credits or you'll have to hope for it to drop in one of the crates you get which is luck based. And since some are locked behind credits, players are trying to trade items for that resource to be able to buy their favourite items. But since trading will be gone soon, i hope there are other ways to get credits. Probably not and it'll end with the game dying. Which sucks for a game with so many possibilities.
This isn't gonna be a chewing out comment, so if it sounds like that, get over it please. So first of all, I would put the central server thing under lag. I think the server problem should be fixed now that Epic took over, but that's obviously a financial thing, so we have no reason to talk about it. Voice chat is 100% something that we need, and if Psyonix thinks that it could be a problem because off the youngens, they could make it be turned off by default or put a warning for new accounts that if they are sensitive, they should turn the voice chat off. Well, we obviously need a good banning system for it though :>. Car variety might mess with competitive gameplay so I wouldn't really like that to be a thing, just look what they did to League. The new game modes falls under the creativity one in my head, since we wouldn't need these game modes if we had better ways to play custom maps and game modes than modding the living hecc out of the game and this would solve the issue completely. Can't say much about rewards because I don't care about the items whatsoever :/ they are pretty bad though ye.Repetitiveness, also under creativity. I'm really glad for the party MMRs working like this, it brings so much balance to ranked. I don't understand why so many people are mad about this, if you want to have fun with someone differently ranked with you, why do you queue the competitive playlist? Casual EXISTS for this. And, well, for playing who aren't competitive, but who isn't on this level except for freestylers. Smurfing is a HUGE problem in Rocket League, especially since it's become free and you can make a fresh account without having to spend a cent, really annoying and one of the first priorities that should be dealt with in my opinion. regarding central servers, i believe there are servers in places like chicago and dallas which cover a lot of the midwest. Its just kind of a lottery whether u get those server locations or not.
They do have some central-ish servers. I live in Texas, which is about as E/W central as it gets. I only queue into USE and I average 35ish ping. Every now and then, once a week or so (since I don’t get to play that much) I’m single digits, so it’s gotta be in Dallas or Austin or whatever.
Is it just me or is it somhow weird to complain about anti-smurf rules and then complain about how much people are smurfing. I do absolutely agree that the MMR system is broken AS F*** because a lower ranked player in a team should increase more then a higher ranked teamm8 and that mostly just doens't happen, but the anti-smurf rules in itself are quite heavy and I mostly like them. They SHOULD differentiatie between teambased smurfing and solo-smurfing, because in the current rule set, solo-smurf are almost free to do as they please while team-based smurfing (just because you want to play with a lower ranked buddy) is actually a disaster and , as you rightly state, makes you not want to play with friends that are too far off your own rank.
As a 1700 getting completely wiped out by pre-made team by one guy with low mmr is the biggest game breaker for me. As a gc3 player I'm decent at a lot but good at nothing, and will never be because I'm a super slow learner. And the skill difference between me and people smurfing in gc3 is just too big. Not saying people shouldn't smurf, because they can do whatever they want. And let's face it, the vast majority of players have smurf accounts. So complaining about it is a little hypocritical, but it's still a bit off putting.
Thank god u mentioned voice chat. RL is seriously lacking content for the game. The single most important thing for a game is to create content that content creators can take advantage of. Which will bring appeal to everyday gamers they could utilize a plethora of ideas from other games. For example the air racing mini game in Minecraft. They’re has already been a “drone racing” league on twitch but adding it into the game would create diversity across their portfolio. This benifits them as well because it allows for new partnerships and sponsors. They could also add the long awaited volleyball game mode (TEAM USA Partnetship?) . As for voice chat. Dead mics when you kill someone??? Would make hearing others rage would be very entertaining. And then cross team coms open after a goal so u can tell them how washed they are. Similar or exactly how S&D is in cod. Psyonix/Epic has such a wide variety for what they can do if they pull away a little from reskined items and focused on the game. They could even bring the workshop over from fortnite creating a platform for content creators to make a hide and seek map that all platforms can use and not need a plug in. My biggest problem with Rocket League is ironically the thing that I love most about the game and that's *the people* I love those games were you play so well with the other person, you both are respecting each-others play, you're both playing off of each-other, and you're syncing with each-other, all without saying a word (most of the time). Games where your team-mate might miss a goal, or you might miss a save, but keep playing like nothing happened without being salty...Those games make some of the craziest clips possible, and keep me playing. On the other hand, playing with people on the complete opposite spectrum is incredibly aggravating. Those games where your team-mate cuts rotation on you, doesn't rotate at all, passes to the opposition, what a saves their own team for not blocking a shot that they themselves were the reason behind, not taking responsibility, blaming their team for their own fuck ups, and failing to see that at the end of the game - we're all just human fucking beings. So I miss an open net, I don't need "What a Play!" spammed a hundred fucking times down my throat, the same way you don't need "What a save!" spammed everytime we get scored on. but above all else - I hate the throwers. The people who intentionally fuck your game over, then intentionally throw the game by not playing, leaving, or intentionally owngoaling.
Smurfing only exists because the game went F2P. They should never have went F2P. If someone had to spend $20 every time they wanted to start an alt they wouldn't do it nearly as often. Fuck Epic.
About the hitboxes, I'd love it if they made cars that 100% match the hitboxes, it would be ugly but it would be the best way to learn accuracy because hitting with a thing you don't see, I still don't get it..., like what's the point. Overall I feel they have made this came way more difficult than it needs to be. Also, no mention of camera issues? The fact it's so hard to know what's going on around? The lack of mini map to know where all players are at any time?
Before I speak about the list I want to preface this with I realize this is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But I have to disagree with three topics on your list. #8 all cars are the same, this didn't use to be the case previously every car had their own hitbox but no one used the other cars (I realize people still don't use the other cars) but Psyonix made default hitboxes in hopes of people using different cars. #5 repetitive, this is a competitive game they are meant to be repetitive to allow people to become amazing at them. Making games have aspects of RNG to prevent repetitiveness would decrease skill level in the game. #4 Party MMR, again what you want used to be the case, but it caused not just an unfair advantage in ranked but the bigger issue was boosting (which is where you pay someone to carry you to a higher rank back then GC) boosting was such an issue the top 100 player names had boosting ads all over them.
Is the ping/servers more of an NA thing? Because I'm EU and my ping is generally better on Rocket League than other games - Have to say, I get a lot less bad servers than I used to with Rocket League so at least they've tried! I do think central servers are needed though, NA West pros having to play competitive on 80 ping seems a little unfair

Voice chat is a no brainer? Dude think about how toxic the text chat is and imagine what it would be like if people could scream that at you. Also they can’t really make the cars “bring something new to the game” without running the risk of turning it into a “pay to win” game. Maybe some new hit boxes would be cool but honestly I think a big part of the appeal of RL is that nobody has an advantage based on their items. Great vid though!!!
Out of all those things I hate smurfs the most because RL is game where if you know what you're doing like air dribbles and such you can solo carry with ease (unlike most other games) so it feels like you can't do anything vs them except watch them take a crap on your team. And casual is fking full of them, I'm having a harder time winning casual games than diamond games, at least I'm not losing mmr.

Having said that I think literally all higher rated players smurf because of playing with their lower rated friends which was another problem you stated. I do think the match making is the best it could possibly be given the parameters

Related to the point about queuing with different ranks, the most frustrating thing for me is solo queuing and seeing you have a party of two on your team. It's always either a guy who is your rank, and a guy who is 8 ranks lower, or it's two of the worst ballchasers you've ever seen and they can't play 2v2 because literally neither of them do any defending. Psyonix give me the option to not have partied teammates, please.
Interestingly enough, Rocket League does in fact have a central server located in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately it is for some reason grouped up with US-West, so it is really just random as to whether or not you get a central server.

#1 should be.....people who quit a competitive match if the other team scores first. Happens To me ALL THE TIME! Then you are stuck playing 3v2 for the rest of the match. So frustrating. Bunch of babies that can't stand the thought of possibly losing a game.
Fortnite has 6million players and I only get like 1 ping on that Rocket league on the other hand, I’m disconnecting about 2 times a game, scoring shots then teleporting back, getting internet kicked and being banned for leaving ranked Getting an average of like idk man 50-999 ping
Add the option to never queue with a random again. I had 3 games in a row with the same teammate who threw every game. Don’t penalize your MMR when your random leaves in beginning of match. Add a 1 time rematch mode in competitive. Only once to avoid boosting.
I don't know if its server lag. But sometimes there is a bigger input lag. I am on an xbox , so I guess that is why. But that is definitely number 1 for me. It happens more noticable when the demo explosion is happening. My ping is fine though, like 30 ping in most games. But you need to time and be so precise that when that input delay happens it is just really annoying.
About the mmr thing im not sure that's a problem anymore because when me and my buddy play im DIA 3 and he's plat 3 we get DIA 1 and plat 3 lobbies, is this just luck?
I think a way to fix a little bit of the smurfing issues is not allowing say 1100-1200mmr players to be playing with 1500-1600 players somewhat similar to the valorant rank system in play
I think RL is an enjoyable game, but when you que up in touries and basicly know that your going to lose first match, it's kind of frustrating. There should be some sort of new system that calculates if you should be allowed into a tour.

For me personally point 4 only encouraged me to grind training. I've had a friend who was around c2 when I was gold, and he always got me to play ranked with him, so I naturally started grinding harder to get better. I'm now at low to mid c1 4 months later
I've had so many RL friends I tried to get into the game. Every single one stopped with the same excuse, "matchmaker is broken". They don't understand MMR or smurfing, they just assume the game is broken.

"things i hate about rocket league" how they make you pay 2000 credits for a toon.
One of my biggest problem with RL is the lack of actual casual mode and what I mean by it is the casual MMR. Casual MMR makes it so that I, a c2, am playing GCs in casual and to be honest that doesn't make games very casual. Making the casual MMR effect even less on match searching could also make casual more playable for those teams with big skill cap and then you could make ranked work in a way where you can't queue ranked with too big MMR cap, because games where that cap is present are kind of uneven experience, sometimes too easy and sometimes too hard depending on the skill of the carry. The current casual MMR basically makes it that there's no point ever queueing casual.

There is casual mmr, but sweaty players tend not to play casual too much so they can have a low casual mmr.

I’m pretty sure the North America tournament servers are actually located in US Central. The reason is because when I play ranked on east or west servers my ping is around 30-50. But when I play in tournaments on NA tourney servers it’s like 12 ping. For reference, I live in Colorado.

In current stage of the game you can create new account and just play ranked (you're friend has to queue) and you don't even need 10th lvl. I hate it but it's just how it is. People are using it to smurf and it's annoing af but that's just how it is.

I feel like devs specifically avoid these videos. Like these vids always point out vital things that would improve the game tremendously and they're just never added or improved on. Especially voice chat it's been in the game since launch and never fixed.
They should make smurfing a lot more difficult. I would say put the MAC-adres and IPadress of every player in a database, check the MAC address and IPadress of the player against this database, is there a match?, then ban straight away. By checking against MAC address you at least not prevent people in the same network of not being able to play on another account. The only issue that arises with this is that you can't share a pc with, for example, your brother that plays rocket league too. (because of that MAC-adres and IPadress being the same). It's not waterproof, since MAC addresses can be spoofed too, but it will be a lot harder this way. There needs to be done something.

Well in my case , I played a lot more and got to champ 1 while my friend had less time to play and is know plat 3.
So now when we play together, we sometimes just get outplayed hard.
But I have to say I only dropped to Diamond 3 div 2 and last time we won a lot and I got back to champ 1.
So I guess even with the difference in car control , when you rotate well and can communicate you can still beat a lot of teams at higher ranks.
Players who deliberately throw the game & actively turn a 3v3 into a 4v2 just to rank down really f*ks me off
4:19 Install Bakkesmod and turn on competitive MMR and queue up with someone higher or lower ranked than you. You will see that the MMR of your opponents is lower than the higher MMR player's but higher than your's. It's far from a perfect system but it does sort of help. If you're on console I can give an example for you.
Yesterday I was playing casual. I am at about 1630 casual MMR, and I was solo queuing. I joined a match and the opponents were partied up. I checked their casual MMR and one was at 1675+ while the other was at 1550. Me and my teammate were both about 1630 MMR.
So, to conclude, Rocket League does do a bit of balancing, at least in the lower ranks (gold-low diamond) but they can't do any extremes without potentially breaking the balance of their MMR system.
I know how to fix the smurfing problem, charge $29.99 for the game. The quality of content has gone WAY down hill since Epic took over. I miss the old days.
Do people have a problem with mmr? I’m on console so I can’t SEE actual mmr, but me, a plat 2, plays with my D2 friend and usually what happens is we play against one D2 and one P2. Maybe it gets harder at higher ranks, but that’s my experience. I never seemed to have those issues.
Not 100% but quite sure that Psyonix does, or at least did include the send in and receive signal lag into the ping. Most others say "ok, 30 ms from client to us ist 30 ms", wehere in RL it at least was from client to server and back making 60
They need a tutorial system that is more advanced, such as more basic mechanics and rotation tips. They could even pay a rocket league coach like virge to voice over the tutorials and help lower-rank players get a lot better. It would be very cool for the UI for the users in the lobby to have a style bar like ESPN where it shows scores from RLCS and collegiate, and maybe 6mans scores. This will help people be engaged with esports. They are already very similar, but they could put more effort into it. They could also add a choice for your favorite esports team and change the UI to whichever team you choose and use their colors. There is so much they could do to this game and hopefully they make the right choices.

I would love different permanent game modes. Even making heatseeker a permanent mode would make the game better. Lately I’ve been playing a lot of Dropshot instead of casual or ranked trios and it’s actually really fun. It feels good to play something different every once in a while.
I never play the temporary modes because you don't have enough time to get good at them and nobody is going to make videos about how to play them really well.

For example, with heatseeker I quickly learned that I would have to get better at aerials to have a chance to win. But I did have difficulty with spike rush, so I do understand where your coming from with certain modes.
You can join custom tournaments that have heat seeker and spike rush and some other modes as well. It’s helped me get better at these modes, when they return as a LTM I actually have a chance to win.

Yeah RL definitely needs smurf prevention, because before free to play smurfs were rare because you had to pay 20$ to get a smurf. Now it’s just free, maybe psyonix should get a team that analyzes games to determine whether someone is smurfing, or throwing, because both are not allowed, they need to start enforcing rules, have smurf punishments not only go on the smurf account but on their main account as well to really deter the practice. Smurfs also throw to stay in the rank they are in.
Your videos are lackluster as of late, most of the things you point out are valid concerns but youre not giving any solutions, youre just ranting. There are some points where you do but its the minority.

There technically are central servers but they are mixed in with the East/West servers and typically are atrocious.

1. Online activities are not included in the ESRB rating for pretty obvious reasons. No developer has control over what people say/do online, and while they *can* ban people, there's no way to proactively prevent it from happening. Thus, ESRB ratings are for single player/offline modes only.
2. The game *has* voice chat. It's just broken. There's nothing preventing you from screaming out an F-bomb in voice chat and everyone hearing it. The only thing their broken voice chat will do it distort the hell out of it and drop packets. So it'll come out as "FU-zzzz-POP YOU BU-zzzz-POP-DY!"

dude rocket league servers SUCK.... i live in india and theres not a single server im guaranteed to get good ping on... normally when queuing on middle east rarely i gt 8-16ping.... and most of the times i get 160-200ping... where theres a specific type for middle east servers with english name which giv me 40-60ping... y does this game not hv enough brain to queue me in servers i get good ping on.... recommended sends me to NA!!! for 300ping like bruh tf
After 2 years when this video was posted, Rocket League only get's less populated. With trading and potentially training removed in December, the content features of the game will be gone. Also another point of importance is how difficult it is to get new items. It's either locked by credits or you'll have to hope for it to drop in one of the crates you get which is luck based. And since some are locked behind credits, players are trying to trade items for that resource to be able to buy their favourite items. But since trading will be gone soon, i hope there are other ways to get credits. Probably not and it'll end with the game dying. Which sucks for a game with so many possibilities.
This isn't gonna be a chewing out comment, so if it sounds like that, get over it please.
So first of all, I would put the central server thing under lag. I think the server problem should be fixed now that Epic took over, but that's obviously a financial thing, so we have no reason to talk about it. Voice chat is 100% something that we need, and if Psyonix thinks that it could be a problem because off the youngens, they could make it be turned off by default or put a warning for new accounts that if they are sensitive, they should turn the voice chat off. Well, we obviously need a good banning system for it though :>. Car variety might mess with competitive gameplay so I wouldn't really like that to be a thing, just look what they did to League. The new game modes falls under the creativity one in my head, since we wouldn't need these game modes if we had better ways to play custom maps and game modes than modding the living hecc out of the game and this would solve the issue completely. Can't say much about rewards because I don't care about the items whatsoever :/ they are pretty bad though ye.Repetitiveness, also under creativity. I'm really glad for the party MMRs working like this, it brings so much balance to ranked. I don't understand why so many people are mad about this, if you want to have fun with someone differently ranked with you, why do you queue the competitive playlist? Casual EXISTS for this. And, well, for playing who aren't competitive, but who isn't on this level except for freestylers. Smurfing is a HUGE problem in Rocket League, especially since it's become free and you can make a fresh account without having to spend a cent, really annoying and one of the first priorities that should be dealt with in my opinion.

regarding central servers, i believe there are servers in places like chicago and dallas which cover a lot of the midwest. Its just kind of a lottery whether u get those server locations or not.
They do have some central-ish servers. I live in Texas, which is about as E/W central as it gets. I only queue into USE and I average 35ish ping. Every now and then, once a week or so (since I don’t get to play that much) I’m single digits, so it’s gotta be in Dallas or Austin or whatever.
Is it just me or is it somhow weird to complain about anti-smurf rules and then complain about how much people are smurfing. I do absolutely agree that the MMR system is broken AS F*** because a lower ranked player in a team should increase more then a higher ranked teamm8 and that mostly just doens't happen, but the anti-smurf rules in itself are quite heavy and I mostly like them. They SHOULD differentiatie between teambased smurfing and solo-smurfing, because in the current rule set, solo-smurf are almost free to do as they please while team-based smurfing (just because you want to play with a lower ranked buddy) is actually a disaster and , as you rightly state, makes you not want to play with friends that are too far off your own rank.
As a 1700 getting completely wiped out by pre-made team by one guy with low mmr is the biggest game breaker for me. As a gc3 player I'm decent at a lot but good at nothing, and will never be because I'm a super slow learner. And the skill difference between me and people smurfing in gc3 is just too big. Not saying people shouldn't smurf, because they can do whatever they want. And let's face it, the vast majority of players have smurf accounts. So complaining about it is a little hypocritical, but it's still a bit off putting.

Thank god u mentioned voice chat. RL is seriously lacking content for the game. The single most important thing for a game is to create content that content creators can take advantage of. Which will bring appeal to everyday gamers they could utilize a plethora of ideas from other games. For example the air racing mini game in Minecraft. They’re has already been a “drone racing” league on twitch but adding it into the game would create diversity across their portfolio. This benifits them as well because it allows for new partnerships and sponsors. They could also add the long awaited volleyball game mode (TEAM USA Partnetship?) . As for voice chat. Dead mics when you kill someone??? Would make hearing others rage would be very entertaining. And then cross team coms open after a goal so u can tell them how washed they are. Similar or exactly how S&D is in cod. Psyonix/Epic has such a wide variety for what they can do if they pull away a little from reskined items and focused on the game. They could even bring the workshop over from fortnite creating a platform for content creators to make a hide and seek map that all platforms can use and not need a plug in. My biggest problem with Rocket League is ironically the thing that I love most about the game and that's *the people*
I love those games were you play so well with the other person, you both are respecting each-others play, you're both playing off of each-other, and you're syncing with each-other, all without saying a word (most of the time). Games where your team-mate might miss a goal, or you might miss a save, but keep playing like nothing happened without being salty...Those games make some of the craziest clips possible, and keep me playing.
On the other hand, playing with people on the complete opposite spectrum is incredibly aggravating. Those games where your team-mate cuts rotation on you, doesn't rotate at all, passes to the opposition, what a saves their own team for not blocking a shot that they themselves were the reason behind, not taking responsibility, blaming their team for their own fuck ups, and failing to see that at the end of the game - we're all just human fucking beings. So I miss an open net, I don't need "What a Play!" spammed a hundred fucking times down my throat, the same way you don't need "What a save!" spammed everytime we get scored on.
but above all else - I hate the throwers. The people who intentionally fuck your game over, then intentionally throw the game by not playing, leaving, or intentionally owngoaling.
Smurfing only exists because the game went F2P. They should never have went F2P. If someone had to spend $20 every time they wanted to start an alt they wouldn't do it nearly as often. Fuck Epic.
About the hitboxes, I'd love it if they made cars that 100% match the hitboxes, it would be ugly but it would be the best way to learn accuracy because hitting with a thing you don't see, I still don't get it..., like what's the point. Overall I feel they have made this came way more difficult than it needs to be.
Also, no mention of camera issues? The fact it's so hard to know what's going on around? The lack of mini map to know where all players are at any time?
Before I speak about the list I want to preface this with I realize this is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But I have to disagree with three topics on your list. #8 all cars are the same, this didn't use to be the case previously every car had their own hitbox but no one used the other cars (I realize people still don't use the other cars) but Psyonix made default hitboxes in hopes of people using different cars. #5 repetitive, this is a competitive game they are meant to be repetitive to allow people to become amazing at them. Making games have aspects of RNG to prevent repetitiveness would decrease skill level in the game. #4 Party MMR, again what you want used to be the case, but it caused not just an unfair advantage in ranked but the bigger issue was boosting (which is where you pay someone to carry you to a higher rank back then GC) boosting was such an issue the top 100 player names had boosting ads all over them.
Is the ping/servers more of an NA thing? Because I'm EU and my ping is generally better on Rocket League than other games - Have to say, I get a lot less bad servers than I used to with Rocket League so at least they've tried! I do think central servers are needed though, NA West pros having to play competitive on 80 ping seems a little unfair

Voice chat is a no brainer? Dude think about how toxic the text chat is and imagine what it would be like if people could scream that at you. Also they can’t really make the cars “bring something new to the game” without running the risk of turning it into a “pay to win” game. Maybe some new hit boxes would be cool but honestly I think a big part of the appeal of RL is that nobody has an advantage based on their items. Great vid though!!!
Out of all those things I hate smurfs the most because RL is game where if you know what you're doing like air dribbles and such you can solo carry with ease (unlike most other games) so it feels like you can't do anything vs them except watch them take a crap on your team. And casual is fking full of them, I'm having a harder time winning casual games than diamond games, at least I'm not losing mmr.

Having said that I think literally all higher rated players smurf because of playing with their lower rated friends which was another problem you stated. I do think the match making is the best it could possibly be given the parameters

Related to the point about queuing with different ranks, the most frustrating thing for me is solo queuing and seeing you have a party of two on your team. It's always either a guy who is your rank, and a guy who is 8 ranks lower, or it's two of the worst ballchasers you've ever seen and they can't play 2v2 because literally neither of them do any defending.

Interestingly enough, Rocket League does in fact have a central server located in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately it is for some reason grouped up with US-West, so it is really just random as to whether or not you get a central server.

#1 should be.....people who quit a competitive match if the other team scores first. Happens To me ALL THE TIME! Then you are stuck playing 3v2 for the rest of the match. So frustrating. Bunch of babies that can't stand the thought of possibly losing a game.
Fortnite has 6million players and I only get like 1 ping on that
Rocket league on the other hand, I’m disconnecting about 2 times a game, scoring shots then teleporting back, getting internet kicked and being banned for leaving ranked

Add the option to never queue with a random again. I had 3 games in a row with the same teammate who threw every game.
Don’t penalize your MMR when your random leaves in beginning of match.
Add a 1 time rematch mode in competitive. Only once to avoid boosting.
I don't know if its server lag. But sometimes there is a bigger input lag. I am on an xbox , so I guess that is why. But that is definitely number 1 for me. It happens more noticable when the demo explosion is happening. My ping is fine though, like 30 ping in most games. But you need to time and be so precise that when that input delay happens it is just really annoying.
About the mmr thing im not sure that's a problem anymore because when me and my buddy play im DIA 3 and he's plat 3 we get DIA 1 and plat 3 lobbies, is this just luck?
I think a way to fix a little bit of the smurfing issues is not allowing say 1100-1200mmr players to be playing with 1500-1600 players somewhat similar to the valorant rank system in play
I think RL is an enjoyable game, but when you que up in touries and basicly know that your going to lose first match, it's kind of frustrating. There should be some sort of new system that calculates if you should be allowed into a tour.

Road to gc on a new account... thousands of kids looking at that follow the same steps, and I dont agree at all that is ok for the video, the person who has his rank on the line and has a smurf opponent doesnt give a shit why the smurfing, it is still smurfing, and they are enjoying being a smurf, then put it online... I mean...

I still dont understand why Psyonix is trying to make this game so kid friendly. Its a competitive game, there is bound to be toxicity. Just make effective mechanisms that will get rid of the extreme toxicity.
Unpopular opinion, i think its good that RL doesnt have voicechat... I dont need toxic people screaming at me during my games, so I really enjoy not having voicechat
#4: I literally only play 3s with my friends to keep our mmr the same, we're within 100 mmr despite being differently skilled.
For me personally point 4 only encouraged me to grind training.
I've had a friend who was around c2 when I was gold, and he always got me to play ranked with him, so I naturally started grinding harder to get better.
I'm now at low to mid c1 4 months later
I've had so many RL friends I tried to get into the game. Every single one stopped with the same excuse, "matchmaker is broken". They don't understand MMR or smurfing, they just assume the game is broken.
How are the general toxicity of the players and people leaving with 1 goal down without real consequences not on this list?
I‘ve played plenty of video games without lag, it‘s called single player
