@@ProkoTV It might be a lazy thing... But overall I see it as smart compensation. Using skills you have in other fields to balance out shortcomings or speeding up things in other fields. I design a few pumpkin 3d models for a comic scene or whatever, and have something I could use within the 3d scene itself, or just use it to draw the scene in different angles.
@@Domenic1407 I wasn't saying anything bad about it. TB Choi has acknowledged 3D models being a part of her work flow. Nothing wrong with working smart!
This was the hardest thing for me to get the hang of. For the longest time my drawings would always turn out terrible and i wouldnt know why. That is until i found a video like this one. Now my drawings have gotten much better
The original video for this popped up in my feed years ago when I was in college taking Marshall's classes. The surreality of realizing that one of my most helpful in-person teachers was collaborating with the online art teacher who got me INTO that college was wild. Keep it up, Proko team!
Does that 3D perspective trick happen to work for other things? Like lets say im building the form of a shoulder, could I use this? I have aphantastia so I struggle with getting stuff in 3D, especially spheres since they’re the same all around so this would be helpful!
I LOVE these tutorials! They really put things into perspective Ha! Ok but really, I truly appreciate the simplicity you give with how things work to give them depth. I was born without depth perception so these tutorials help me see things in a whole different way. Still not 3D, but that's to be expected. However, my brain uses lines and size and light and shadow to get as close to the depth perception as regular people have. Thank you. I mean that, because even if I wasn't into learning how too draw, this would help me see the world better.
Omg this helps a lot, I struggle a lot with faces and their perspectives. I only do straight faces for the same reason. Although my biggest struggle is drawing the neck and shoulders in perspective, connecting the head to the neck and making the shoulders correctly Is hell for me.
im really thanks to proko you really change my life who believe that i don't have talent because once i show my skech to big artist in my town and he say that idont have talent, but your loomis tutorial change everything
As long as you know you're improving with intentional study and self-appraisal, that's what matters. "Talent" is just a perception of where someone's current skills are. You can progress, get better and surpass that other person. Good luck!
@@ProkoTV yea back then i can impressed my friends with my drawing that because im tracing manga and memorize that shape in my head but deep inside i dont know what im doing i cant do whatever view i want, i just can do front and side view and that make me believe when someone says that i dont have talent, i like to tell story with my drawing but my "believe that i dont have talent" constraint me for pretty much my life. I know you 2 years ago btw, but its life changing. yes i know its dificult but its not unreachable
Is marshall an audiobook reader or any kind of voice actor? He would be perfect for that job.
He reminds me of one of the Jackbox Party Pack Narrators
Or you Just make a quick 3d model and trace it :p
If that's what you need, I guess go for it!

"Work smarter, not harder"
I'm too scared to draw now, thanks.
Don't let the Jack-o'-lantern scare you! It's not actually alive. Promise.
It's just drawn in good perspective 😉
Nah, be determined, damnit!
