    really if i had to live with only 3 ingredients for the rest of my life, one would definitley be oats

      @@triptripp1873 it's tough to get everything in just three ingredients! I was thinking oats, kale, and banana? Or oats, avocado, and spinach?

    • @Nekayr
      @Nekayr Рік тому +3

      I'd definitely go for oats and some kind of legumes to cover protein along with a nutrientdense veggi like broccoli, but 3 ingredients is pretty hard to work with. Going up to 5 I'd add some berrys and either apple or tomato

    The mousse looks really good! Makes me wish I could be bothered to use and clean the blender more often lol
    Ah btw about the miso oatmeal
    Miso is usually added at the end of the cooking process because boiling it destroys a lot of the nutrients that people like Miso for. In Japanese (and Korean) cooking, you'll see people dilute Miso (and other fermented soy pastes) with a spoonful of broth, water, or soup, in a ladle or sieve, and the stir it into the dish. Maybe you can add it later on, after the oats are mainly cooked?

      After using your blender, fill the bottom 1/4 of it with warm water, add a bit of soap, and blend for 45-90 seconds on high (depends on your blender power) and it takes care of 90% of the cleaning job, especially of you do it immediately after you empty whatever you were blending in the first place.

      I didn't know that about miso, but it makes sense since it's a fermented product. I actually like to make a simple sauce with the miso and drizzle it over the top of my oats. 😋 I usually top mine with a fried egg and some steamed or stir fried veggies as well, usually onion/bell pepper/greens.

      You can also just make a big batch of oat flour. And then mix the flour and milk etc by hand when you want to make pudding. That way you don't have to use the blender everytime

    Barista here, about the latte art: it is more difficult doing latte art in a high vessel because you need to get as close as possible to the surrface of your drink so the foam doesnt just fall through the surface but actually stays on top:) so id recommend using a wider cup or vessel thats maybe not as high :)

    In the 1960's porridge oats were a staple of our pantry, with old family recipes from Granny Andy new ones of our own. Even our Dog had oats for breakfast when we did! Oat flakes make fabulous flour which produces many different cakes, biscuits etc. It's banana and oat pancakes with blueberries and nuts this morning.

    Mina! Thank you for the recipes :) for latte art, give your plant milk a few second to open up after you steam it. The best way to do that is either tap it firmly once against the counter after it's steamed, or swirl it around in the canister once or twice and let it stand for a few seconds. Then, tilt your espresso towards you and stream the milk in slowly! You can start to introduce the more complicated stuff once you get that part down. It takes time to learn, and there's tons of youtube videos for each milk type. You got this!!

    The final recipe is one that I've been doing for a looonggg time. But instead of just chocolate chips, I add cocoa powder, and ofc peanut butter. If I'm feeling fancy, I'll add some maple syrup as well to take it to the next level. And if you add maple syrup you don't even need to have a banana in the recipe cause it checks off the sweetness perfectly

    The oat blondies are devine! I've made them a few times now, so here a few tips for people who want to experiment:
    just oats is fine, but quite dry and crumbly, probably needs more moisture in the form of apple sauce.
    I've also made them with just whole spelt flour and oats+whole spelt when that was all I had, tastes amazing.
    Instead of apple sauce I've also used two flax eggs (2 tbsp ground flaxseeds + 6 tbsp water)
    They also work great as a dessert, still warm with some ice cream

Was going for 70g of oat, 1 banana and 20g of peanut butter smoothie every morning (as the liquid state is easier to eat when you don't have a big stomach). Hi Mina, I love your videos and recipes. May I ask what was your reason for becoming vegan?

    • @Mina_Rome
      @Mina_Rome  Рік тому +10

      Hi thanks for watching! My number 1 reason for becoming vegan is that i did not want to actively support the meat/dairy industry anymore. the way animals are being kept there is not fun at all to put it lightly, Also u know coming to the realisation that farm animals feel ofc as much pain as pets do, and they also want to be treated with the same amount of kindness and love we give to dogs and cats. There's many more reasons but yeah animals is nr 1 for sure

    ❤ oats. Eat em almost daily. Peanut butter cookie oats for breakfast. Chocolate brownie oats for lunch. Banana oat pancakes for snacks. Carrot cake oats are clever. Yes, I do have a sweet tooth. Why use flour when you can just use ground oats?

      It’s cinnamon cookie butter! Very sweet, tastes like heaven. Alternatively u can use peanut, almond butter or even a chocolate hazelnut spread.

    I'm curious, why did you need to cook the steel cut oats for so long? I usually cook it for two minutes then turn the heat off to get thicker
