    Motocross Action Magazine first ride on the all new 2023 Husqvarna TC250 two stroke at Fox Raceway. These are pre-production models from Husqvarna and they brought out a few for us to try out. We spend the day spinning as many laps as we could on these bikes before Husqvarna said we had to play nice and share with other media outlets. We give you all the details so far that we have learned on these two stroke models in this video. Josh Mosiman walks you through the tech and some early feedback from riding at Fox Raceway with a fuel injected two stroke underneath him. We will be doing a full TESTED video at a later date once these bikes release which is expected to be in September of 2022.

    What a great and fun bike!. The dream of a weekend warrior. It's nimble, light and sounds great. After having few sessions on it, I would say it feels rigid at the beginning, but turns well, front wheel have a good grip. The difference between MAP1 and MAP2 is massive. Power delivery is much more linear now (with mellow map1 it felt even a bit boring on good grip track) and probably now with MAP1 the the bike is easier to ride in slippery condition. MAP2 felt aggressive and compared my previous 2018 TC250, the new bike felt faster from low to medium rpm, but more or less the same at higher rpm. The "sweet spot" window is much wider.

      Hey i like your comment. I want to start motocross and i am riding sportsbike and supermotos for 10 years now. I know 125 2stroke or 250 4stroke its recommended as a good beginner bike. But how do you see the tc250/sx 250 for a beginner now when its way more smooth and with map1 also not that powerful. Would you recommend for a beginner who also wants riding a bit enduro and just got sand tracks at my area ? thx a lot

      @@CornflakesArni Probably a little late... but in my opinion if you have ridden sport bikes and supermotos you should be fine on the 250 2stoke. You should have some respect for the bikes from riding sport bikes and are not a total noob. Take it slow and learn the powerband and you will be golden. Power band feels pretty much like a super sports transition from the lower rpms to the high rpm if that makes sense.

    could you put this lowered shock and fork on the ktm, im assuming you could? and is it just the suspension thats shorter but has same travel? Im a shorter rider but ive always has & loved my ktm 350s, how they look and the engine package, but i run with my forks dropped to line 3 and SDI linkage & dipped seat, to give me more confidence in the corners, the husky suspension could be the answer for me moving forward, with the ktm being even taller than last model, id still want ktm I may even try that 300 smoker if i can get my hands on one

    I have a modded 18' TC 250. It rips , but even with the mods I did , the power is very linear . It took me a while to get used to the way it is compared to my older 2 strokes. Watching Josh ride it , it seems very , very mellow....AND it definitely looks smaller / shorter than my bike. Also.......jetting can be a little bit of a pain , but I believe it's the correct way to make a MX 2 stroke run right. I run modded PWK carbs on both my 125 and 250 ( STIC in the 125 ). The EFI is something I'll let the bugs get worked for a couple years. Not sold on it as far as MX 2 strokes go. Offroad of course......MX , not so much.

    • @brianbush3247
      @brianbush3247 2 роки тому +2

      I have a total of 4 STIC equipped bikes now. The STIC is such a fantastic upgrade. I have one in my '18 150, '18 300, 1996 360 SX and 1989 500MX. In each case, there is more power down low, a smoother transition and significantly more top-end rev, plus they feel like they rev more freely than with a standard PWK. An added benefit is that they are not elevation sensitive and they use less fuel. Good stuff!

    Also agree about them blubbery bottom on stock carb ktm’s. It’s that damn mikuni carb. To get em to run crisp off bottom you have to lean them out way too much to get em crisp on the bottom. To keep ‘em running safe you have to keep the sputtery bottom with a hard hitting mid to top. First thing I changed on my bike was taking the mikuni off and putting a keihin on it cleaned that bottom up instantly. It’s just ktm being cheap with their choice in carb. Which I suppose is no longer a concern 😂😂😅

    • @mattiaskarlsson1718

    • @brianbush3247
      @brianbush3247 2 роки тому +3

      Yes, KTM was having supply issues with Keihin on the PWK carbs. Honda has a stake in Keihin, so there could have been some politics behind it. I am a big fan of the PWKs, and especially when equipped with a STIC metering block.

    About suspension, if u race regularly and want a husky, upgrade ur suspension internally or change it completely.🤷🏻‍♂️

    Even though not MX though TM does, as does Beta, Sherco offer core 2ts and modern 2t even though still carbed those brands keeping 2ts alive and are among those brands biggest sellers. Rules saved the 4t not performance.
    I actually like the look of the new Husky’s the grey/yellow, I dig it..
    Also I’d just buy a Tv 250 TBI and later on down the track just by the cylinder and piston kit for the 23 300 TX300 and Wack it on the TC250, might need the ECU? but anyone that serious prob look at a GET or Vortex anyway, simple done.

    I have to admit, as I’ve gotten old and wildly out of riding shape, I’ve finally started to enjoy the 4 strokes. These later model 2 stokes are so smooth though, I could def see myself going back to one. That said, with my Varg coming… I’m probably headed to “Full Retard” electric 🤣 They’re going to be tough to beat and too convenient to ride.

    Not a fan of the snot yellow and gray. I wish Husky would pick a color scheme and stick with it. I think they should go back to the burgundy like they had in the seventies. I think white fenders and a burgundy tank and fork guards would look killer.

    You can tell that you have been riding a CARBED 2 stroke! You folks are going to have to learn how to warm up a FI bike. You can't do what you did in the beginning of the video with one of these, they will cold seize! Temp is much more important to the FI, because the ECU is what is controlling the fuel. TPI owners had to learn that also.

    • @derrickzenner9300

      Why didn't it cold seize?

    • @user-mo8tm4jw2l
      @user-mo8tm4jw2l 2 роки тому

      The ecu is only part of the equation and if your not running a lean map your bike wont seize cold. TPI is different than tbi. Seperate oil tank. Oil in fuel on this bike is going to keep the cylinder lubed correctly despite temps. If your map is set up correctly you can cold rev, not saying it’s good for the motor but it isn’t going to cold seize like a TPI bike would.

      @mikeburnett6222 2 роки тому

      @@user-mo8tm4jw2l I stand corrected, I forgot about the oil in the fuel. That does make all the difference. It;s still hard on the motor though.

      The fundamentals are still the same, a top end still costs $100 to do and can be done in an hour. It's still the two stroke you love, it's not like fuel injectors and fuel pumps are high failure rate parts or expensive/ difficult to replace. The benefits far outweigh the cons here.

    I don't get why they continue with 250's....in motocross the 250 2 stroke is dead. They should build something around 320-330 cc's with mild port timing to give them a wider smoother powerband. Something similar to a four stroke without all the expensive parts. Us old guys that owned 360 Yamahas and TS400 Suzukis know what I'm talking about. Hell they could be air cooled and save more weight after all there's no weight limit in local races only proracing and theses wouldn't be raced there anyway. It would be for the masses....kind of why the VW was made.

      These companies usually have insight on the future of the sport long before we the consumers get to see it. If they're putting this much R&D into FI 2 strokes, something tells me this could be the future and things may be changing. The recommended ratio is 60:1, and that's lean. Makes you wonder if these meet emission.
