  • Part of a series on shore fishing at Eastbourne, East Sussex (UK). An early autumn, daytime session (recorded on 02.10.19) catching mainly plaice and whiting. This video focuses on targeting flatfish, dealing with snags and fishing an ebb tide. The short snood ‘sole’ rig I favour, is put to good use again to catch its intended target.
The following videos in this series cover other marks in Eastbourne, tactics employed and rigs used, in some detail.

@Blue Sal - I agree. It's like this all the way to Langney Point, which can get a bit busy; and the Sovereign Gardens stretch even has some free parking behind it.

What a good day to be out and what a good sesh with nice variety. I have to agree with Fisho's i like the camera work, i'll stick to my one camera operation that can be awkward enough at times. Like you're easy going style.

Many thanks for your observations and nice comments Michael. Yes filming gets in the way of fishing and can be more frustrating - I try not to let it show! But that's nothing compared to editing - which takes time away from actually being on the beach and catching!

@@rodsangleuk6283 You're welcome. Yeh the editing does take time a few hours easily to get things right. I think i must see all the little sections of my recording 4 or 5 times before it actually becomes a complete video.

Hi Great video, what sort of distance are you fishing at?

Hi Susan - thanks for your comment. Most fish were caught at 80 yards +.

enjoy the videos.but why use 3 hooks to strike at the first bite

Thanks for that Mark. A good question. Some will wait, when they know they already have a fish attached, hoping that more are present and will take the other two baits. I prefer to think that three baits are out there to increase the scent trail to draw fish to the area where your hooks are and I don't want to miss the chance to hit a bite, nor want to deep hook fish. But there is a case for leaving your baits out longer - I'm probably too impatient!
