I have both services. I use apple Music mostly since I just enjoy using the app much more than spotify just from the ui to the discovery of music and the way they sort the library. It makes me feel more like I'm browsing a record store and collecting my finds in my library. But I keep spotify around for podcasts and for the social features because all my friends and family have spotify. So when I hangout I always have to bust out my spotify to join jam sessions and such or just to share a song to someone.
My biggest annoyance with Apple Music is that I use it to play white noise at night. So half my recommendations are skewed towards stuff like that, meditation music, etc.
I have actually used Spotify on my phone, and I recently tried out Spotify Lite, and the Spotify Lite version has a clean and minimalistic feel to it. I love it!
I recently learned that UA-cam Music cannot work with a VPN because it says "not available in this country," but Spotify works in all the same countries that UA-cam Music does not work in.
This is the first review with actual valid points brought to the table that truly matters to the end users. Congrats on the research and how clearly you spoke about it.
@@84Canaan the reason they probably don't is because for the most part even if spotify pays less the amount of users makes it up for it meaning they probably make more on average on spotify than apple music, higher payment or not.
I had Spotify before but now sticking with Apple Music as I switched to Apple Music. Apple Music is better with their sound quality experience than Spotify. Plus I don’t use podcasts at all on Spotify as I focus more on music, which is the reason I switched to Apple Music. Apple Music always the best for me 😊

Really nice Comparison. Watching this to figure out if I maybe wanna switch to Apple Music because lately I started to become somewhat frustrated with spotify and i didnt even know the exact reasons. Now i finally know why shuffle feels so weird on Spotify and thats one of the things that annoyed me. One thing that i never really cared about was the lossless audio but thats because i also heard that its rlly not that much of a difference if you use bluetooth headphones and i dont use any wired ones... probably would need to try that out. So if you read this and maybe tested the difference between spotify and apple music with bluetooth headphones and can tell me if its a major difference there too that would be really helpful. 8:44 What the... i dont have these filters in my liked songs what the heck Also i never really used any of spotifys generated playlists i always make my own. The Social Features are the one thing thats holding me on spotifys side but when i think about it i rarely use any of them. The Friendlist, even when it was still there by default in the app, was the most useless thing ever (at how i remember it)... first, facebook.. tf?.. second, it never was anywhere near live which is kinda the only thing i would want a friendlist for. Jam is really cool but i rarely have a situations where i'd want to use it... also idk if this happened to anyone else before but when i wanted to use it a few weeks ago it constantly paused the music for the other person after like 5 minutes of their phone beeing locked and then they had to unlock and spam play/pause a few times till it worked again which was really weird. And then theres the whole Spotify Wrapped thing.. thats the main thing that i didnt want to lose but as i now know apple does it too... even monthly which i really really want now (and i have stats.fm for that for spotify but in-app would be much better) One thing that i see many people like that i absolutely hate is all the stuff thats in the player in spotify... its just too much especially when sometimes i just want to activate the lyrics view and then i have to scroll down because its not even on the top because of some concert info or merch or whatever... i would really prefer that to be an extra tab on each artists profile or in general if all that was only visible on the artist profile and not in the player so probably apple music is better for me in this case (i mean i really like to go on concerts but i never found out about any concert or merch over spotify.. i mostly find stuff like that on the specific artists social media) Also Podcasts is a thing a really dont care much about. ... Wow i wrote sooo much more than i wanted to when i started to write this comment and this is an absolute mess of a comment but im too lazy to fix the readability so fuck it😅 Respect if you really read all of that lmao
ok whew....just finished. Honestly you make some great points and I think you should try the free trial of Apple Music. Even with bluetooth headphones you might notice a difference in music quality because you wont have as many compression artifacts in the songs compared to spotify.
The conclusion of this video is my same problem. All my friends use SPTFY. But who cares. It’s music. It’s not often it really impacts any social conversations if ever
Great video with a great breakdown. As a person who loves music as art, loves to listen to a full record and just really respects artists who respect the music they make Apple Music takes it for me. Spotify almost seems Taylor to the “singles listener”. Like the younger people who don’t listen to albums just singular songs
Recently me and my partner noticed that when in the car if one of us is using Spotify via car play, that the other person's phone has started auto suggesting joining a jam with the connected phone. This has been our dream feature request for roadtrips with friends or just to help us have more of that best of both worlds shared library while driving. Genuinely think this and the audiobook additions have locked us back into the ecosystem despite the price shifts
apple music is great until you try to control the music playing on one device using another device , which is a built in feature on spotify that too for all the devices..
I go for Apple Music because of better audio quality and works better in the Apple eco-system. It's a preference thing, no right or wrong in either service.
i’m still struggling in between apple music and tidal, cause tidal’s been a better service, but you can’t download local files. so if i buy an album i have to like download it to my files album or something, it’s super sticky
Greetings! Thank you SO much for this excellent comparison! I’ve been an Apple Music user & lover for many years, but most of my friends use Spotify, so it’s getting kinda lonely over here, but god DAMN, is it hard to leave. I personally ADORE Apple Music’s “Discovery” radio station & it’s how I discover all new music. Anything that plays on it will be something I’ve never heard before. It does a great job of branching out via ea artists’s “similar artists” & my queue of new music seems to be getting better with use. I love the artist pages too. Only things I wish Apple Music did have, is better options for “liking/disliking” content. As is, we have “Favorite” which only causes that track to play more often whenever listening to playlists it’s on, or your library as a whole. Then we have “Suggest less”, which I believe just makes that song play less often, which doesn’t make sense if done to a song you listened to, but did not add to your library. 🤷🏻♀️ I was super stoked to hear about it allowing SharePlay for non-AM subscribers! I had no idea!🥳
I’ve just watched the video and found it really helpful and gave it a thumbs up. Then I saw it has 44 likes and 780 views and I was shocked, I thought this is video with 50-250k views while I was watching it 😂 I wish it had more screenshots and pictures though. There were no pictures of the prices :)
"Listen up, everyone. I have a very important announcement to make. UA-cam Music, Spotify, Apple Music - they're all going to be phased out in 2026. And you wanna know why? Because CDs are making a huge comeback. You heard me right, CDs are back in a big way. So forget about streaming music, folks. It's all about the good ol' CDs and discmans. Trust me, this is a major game-changer in the music industry."
Unless I win the lotto there's no way I could buy all the CDs I want to listen to. The price of a sub to a streaming service is the only sensible option.

Same. Until recently, I was just like you. But I needed to get rid of all my least used subscriptions, so now I’m fully Apple Music.
Apple Music just works better on Apple Watch too. BUT spotify connect is so hard to leave! Ugh!
teah ikr
My biggest annoyance with Apple Music is that I use it to play white noise at night. So half my recommendations are skewed towards stuff like that, meditation music, etc.
if you have an iphone you can add sound to your control center and play white noise from there
Use then white noite on the control center to avoid that. Also, with iOS 18 launching soon, you’re going to have a new UI and UX.
goodbye music spotify apple music Amazon music UA-cam in 2026 all thoses apps for music will be phase out due the the music Cd's with my discmen

Apple Music pays their artists double than Spotify, if not more.
Interesting, you’d think that artists would do more to promote Apple Music over Spotify because of that.

I am right there with you. Their social features and the recent "Jam" launch has made listening music so easy and collaborative with my friends.
it does it if someone is playing spotify on the same wifi too. apple music took this feature as well, but it only works in the car I think
apple music is great until you try to control the music playing on one device using another device , which is a built in feature on spotify that too for all the devices..
All I need is an apple version of spotify connect and it's gameover for spotify.
Very simple and straightforward video with precise points. You definitely deserve more subs.
I use Apple Music most of the time, i switched to spotify but UI is so clunky and congested for me
I go for Apple Music because of better audio quality and works better in the Apple eco-system. It's a preference thing, no right or wrong in either service.
One other thing to point out about playlists, is Spotify are AI generated while Apple are human curated.

Funny enough, Spotify does not have a light mode.
@@graysontate_ Good to know.
