Love seeing you two together! I hope you do another one with Casey. You did such a good job on the panel at SXSW. I love spending time with you whenever we can.🥰
I love how supportive you are of both your kids. I have never experienced that so it make me happy that you show that so much. Plus you are such a great example of how to parent a gay kid 🤗❤️🏳️🌈
Honestly I love how raw and unembellished your podcast is. I feel like I'm sitting in on a conversation with friends. I don't need razzle dazzle sound effects or fancy editing. I love hanging out with you and your guests!
Loved it so much!! I would definitely watch longer episodes with Casey, especially as an aspiring psychologist! It's also really nice having a change of the dynamics in the podcasts. ❤
This felt like a book cut short. A two chapter teaser. That was surprisingly intriguing. I did not expect the views Casey has on many things (could not have known anyways 😅), but would definitely like to listen to more! I myself am in the group of people that doesn't go for dating or relationships out of fear and would love to hear more perspective on that. I noticed when you let her flow and don't ask precise questions she gets "in the zone" and says some really cool stuff. I'm not saying you shouldn't ask questions, those were definitely interesting too, I felt like I got a lot of information either way, I would like more in any form! If she wrote a book about stuff like what you talked here, I would read it. You could write a book together.
Shannon, I feel like you are showing so much more of your authentic self in these recent podcasts. While your awkwardness about being in the spotlight still shows, it just seems like a precious part of your personality now and makes you more endearing. Casey is so gentle and so adept at hearing the deeper meaning in a question or a response. She is well trained and seems like she is probably a wonderful therapist. Keep filming these podcasts. You have some very interesting guests and you are getting better and better as an interviewer.
I as an older person love your podcast. I feel you connect to people in an adult fashion. Please don’t mess with the bedroom/ couch dynamics. I know this might sound weird but I feel like I am setting in the room listening to friends have a discussion and I get to listen. This episode was interesting I felt like you two had just became comfortable enough to start a deep dive into your family dynamics. I look forward to every podcast. I have been jn a committed relationship for 46 years. But we were always mainly in the closet. Having retired I have been a little more out there. But it sometimes feels like i am just now discovering what it could have been like. To listen to people talk causal about IVF , family parties etc. This wasn’t possible nit that long ago. And for some of us the real fear of being either physically hurt or our material things destroyed is a real part of the journey. So to get on line and see the causal way you and your sister discuss relationships warms my heart. You are doing great work. I have no idea what an influencer is , but if you represent that idea it is a good thing
Yes, I'd definitely like to see her again on the podcast! 😊 Also, her laugh is so much like Debbie's, it's crazy! Maybe next time, Casey could analyze your past relationship (behaviors) a little more in-depth if you like hehe, or talk about the way that queerness manifests in her life (ally to you + surely more people, own experiences?). What does she think about the songs that have been written about you? Does she read up on gossip around you and asks you about it or are the only stories about your life coming from you personally/directly? Maybe play a relationship and sex themed "never have I ever" together? I could think of a lot of fun things you could do with Casey on th epodcast. :)
I love the mental health check-ins at the beginning of the pod. I always listen to new episodes on Wednesdays on my way to my own therapy appointments, and it kind of gets me into a good headspace before I go and work on my own mental health
This was really sweet. It was cute to see yall do some family and self analysis. I bet she is an incredible therapist! Her voice and energy is very comforting to me.
i'm getting caught up on some of these older podcasts and this one is so cute! Casey seems so proud of shannon (and for good reason obvs) but it's also so interesting to hear a therapist talk on a more casual platform/podcast . I hope shannon does another longer episode with casey!
Apparently they managed to breed mice with just two egg cells but the succes rate is really low and the strategy needs some improvement. But it seems like it might be possible in the future to reproduce bimaternal children without involving sperm cells. I'd have a link for proof but youtube keeps deleting my comment when I put it in so... It's quite interesting really because there actually are quite a few animals - mainly lower invertebrates and insects - that can do parthenogenesis, meaning to reproduce asexually. It really just seems to be a problem in mammals that they need one sperm and one egg cell for the mechanisms of deleting certain gene regions to work properly and therefor to produce babies that have a chance of living. But who knows, maybe science will find a way around that in the future.
yeah it be could to see a more in-depth talk with your sister. Maybe you can gave her the homework of watching HSM part 1 at least :p. Great to see the big sister how do you feel talk?
Loved this episode, it was nice to see you open in a more calm way. Your sister makes you comfortable and that's beautiful! I am definitely trying not to read into the "do we have a tendency, well maybe just me, to be in relationships" and your sister asking if it is something you are anxious about and you say "your tummy hurts." I do not feel I hear you say that often and with Fletcher/Cari just coming out with yet another song that seems to be about you, stating that her "tummy still hurts, why does better feel worse". It must be very hard to have so many songs written about you, especially when you have addressed in the past that she doesn't want you, yet in some of her songs she continues to allude to the fact that she does.... Sending you love and care, stay strong, and do what's best for you! If it is with someone or alone 🥰
This episode is so funny 😂 Casey you're an awesome big sister .... i felt the ghost of fletcher circulating around shannon maybe that's why the view in this episode was so heavenly
Okay, I was a bio major, but I'm coming from the same sort of confusion as you are Shannon. Like maybe 10 years ago, I read a study about the x sperm from stem cells. I was so excited about it as a queer woman and told lots of people, it was a revolution. But I haven't been able to find anything other than them having done this with chickens? Like ages ago, and nothing progressed since then? But it was super interesting, using stem cells to create "female sperm" (not X sperm, but sperm created from a female). And yeah, it obviously only could make an XX baby because if the sperm is X, your child will be X. I'd be so curious to see what they said if you had the chance to go back to ask :)
I would love to hear another podcast with your sister!!! She has some incredibly insightful points and I’d be interested to hear more even if it’s just a longer version of what you did today!
I love, love, love that this was supposed to be her asking you questions and it ended up being much different. You don't seem comfortable talking about yourself at all. I would love to see you in an environment that you feel totally relaxed and yourself. Really not any of our business, but you just don't naturally talk about yourself. You tend to give the time over to all the people your talking too. You're a gem.
I love this episode. I'm a sucker for psychology and exploring connection. I'm glad she brought up how there's these trends on diagnosing others with narcissism, etc., and how it's not necessarily based on truth.
2 years ago, my wife and I went through IVF after battling infertility for 3+ years and after many failed tries and heartbreak, we had our miracle baby last year! IVF is just amazing and I’m so glad it exists! We even did genetic testing on our embryos and know all the genders too 😊Science is awesome
Glad your making content I look forward to your videos. Most definitely bring Casey back. It was nice to hear her speak about you - obviously so proud of you and how well your doing at this career. As a follower it was cool to hear her be so proud - cuz I for one thin you ROCK!!!!
Loved this episode with your sister. Would love to see her on again! Also the lighting was cool. And how she’s in white and you’re in black. Didn’t know you ran track, basketball & volleyball ❤
Omg your sister seems like an amazing big sister and so sweet. I think you two should do another one. It’s nice to hear her talk about relationships from a therapist POV
Loved this , yes please do more. Maybe look at how Casey felt about being a sibling of a queer kid. How was that growing up and were their any problems or issues. I also would love to hear more about her work specifically with people who are autistic as I have worked with a lot of people on the spectrum of neuro divergence. Thank you for this Shannon so glad you are feel better and happier. 🤗❤️🏳️🌈
You can’t make a baby with two moms by simply fusing two eggs or adding one egg’s DNA to another’s. Even though the resulting embryo would have the usual 46 chromosomes, this wouldn’t work. The reason isn’t some special string of A’s, G’s, T’s or C’s found in dad’s DNA. No, instead it has to do with chemical marks found on egg and sperm DNA. This methylation (as the marks are called) makes the DNA from each parent unique, and you need both to make a baby.
Not that anyone asked, but Casey is the hot sister 🧡 😍 What a beautiful mind. The bond you share is great. Sorry Shannon fans 😎 Oh, and back in the day talk radio was our podcasts...heard, but not seen. Yes, please do another or more podcasts with Casey. This podcast actually brought tears to my eyes, because I come from a family where the majority of us are single. Here I thought we were alone.
It feels to me like you guyz are more empathetic than usual and that’s why you connect easier with other people; also how else would you find your forever love unless you give someone a chance.
My friend’s girlfriend did this!!! (The girlfriend has a daughter with her ex wife) And she does look like a mix of both moms!!! It’s crazy!! Crazy amazing❤
I'm interested to know what Casey thinks of trauma vs pathology, or perhaps some more nuanced and combined understanding of the two, especially as an ally to LGBTQ+ people who experience family, community, cultural, and national bias, bullying, minimizing, marginalization devaluation, and dehumanization. As an example, anxiety and depression have been labelled as disorders in the DSM. Yet, in my life, feeling anxious has a direct relationship to environmental (overstimulation), cultural, social, and relational traumas (sexism, gender bias, anti-lgbtq+, neurotypism, and emotional avoidance, abuse, and neglect-abuse), and depression is a kind of impotence to effect change in these factors external to me that impact my ability to feel safe, loved, and respected. These seem like orderly brain responses to circumstances that - understandably - exceed our ability to cope: They are predictable, protective, and useful in tracing back to the originating traumatic injuries. The labelling feels gaslighting, like there is no identifiable reason why they manifest, when - at least for me - I could tell you a lifetime of reasons why I experience both. And this doesn't even touch on the value of choosing to mindfully and consciously experience a major depression. Would love to hear your thoughts, from both of you.
Ooook is it just me, or do you guys think these podcasts are going by quickly?! 🤭 On another note, I’ve been out since 2017. & haven’t made 1 queer friend. Anywhere good to start?
It's so funny to me that she's in all white and you're all black haha, it's like a reflection of your vibes. PS: such a short episode with your sister is criminal, I would listen to her for 5h. 😌
You might be referring to a story about a human embryo which was created with no gametes or womb. It was not considered an actual foetus i think. Also it's possible for three people to have a baby. Two fathers and one mother (it happens "naturally"). Two mothers and one father. (Requires aid).
I usually consume this via podcast, but my world has opened up now I’ve seen video! I came here just to ask if the TV show your sister was referring to with the social worker was “Judging Amy”? That used to air for us in Australia when I was much younger, I’d be interested to know if that was the one! 😊
My brain went crazy from the minute Casey talks about the TV show trying to remember the name of it. For anyone else who needs these puzzles solved I think she was referring to Judging Amy. Now I can go back to enjoying this episode.
Hey Shannon, thank you for another great pod, I've really enjoyed them... My mental health has NOT been good this past week & I can definitley relate to the "not wanting to be here"... I'd really like to see a longer version with Casey, it was really interesting, even if rushed... Keep Up The Great Work.... Also found this info + added the website for yor perusal... "Two cisgender women (meaning assigned female at birth) in a relationship cannot become pregnant without some form of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Cheers from Chele, Adelaide South Australia. 🙃🙂
The beauty salon game was absolutely precious. I’m a hairstylist ❤ Also, Shannon, you mention that you have hair anxiety but your hair always looks amazing. If the hat makes you feel good then wear it but your hair looks stunning without a hat as well. Hopefully, that can provide you reassurance. You’re doing great. Loved this episode ❤
I'm super interested in psychology so I absolutely loved this episode ❤ please bring Casey back again. Would love to listen to y'all discuss healthy communication in relationships, whether it's with a romantic partner or family.
Love seeing you two together! I hope you do another one with Casey. You did such a good job on the panel at SXSW. I love spending time with you whenever we can.🥰
Ilove you Chanel shanonn beveridge ❤❤
Next time queen debbie in the podcast!!!
I love how supportive you are of both your kids. I have never experienced that so it make me happy that you show that so much. Plus you are such a great example of how to parent a gay kid 🤗❤️🏳️🌈
We love you Debbie!!
I luv Casey and observing sibling dynamics. Please do a 10-hour podcast with her.
Casey’s vibes though. She’s wonderful!
Your sister's memory of you playing basketball (and your reaction to it) was so wholesome
casey: is this coming from a place of anxiety? are you worried about this?
shannon: my tummy hurts
I haven’t related so hard ever 😂😂😭😭
Honestly I love how raw and unembellished your podcast is. I feel like I'm sitting in on a conversation with friends. I don't need razzle dazzle sound effects or fancy editing. I love hanging out with you and your guests!
I feel the same way!
Casey is such a a good listener it’s insaneeeee, must be the best therapist 😢
Loved it so much!! I would definitely watch longer episodes with Casey, especially as an aspiring psychologist! It's also really nice having a change of the dynamics in the podcasts. ❤
What a smart, lovely elder sister! Nice conversation - she’s empathetic and has so much compassion ❤

When you asked who we wanted to see on the pod, and then mentioned we might see some of these people, how heavy was the emphasis on 'MIGHT'?😉
Siblings interacting with each other will always be fascinating to me. You’re the most you with your siblings and it’s fun to watch.
How did your coming out story impact your sister and your relationship together? And how did your sister help you to accept your sexuality?
Love Deb, please get her on!

Did Casey know you liked women before you told your family? If so, what was the moment she thought you maybe liked women.
Love this! Yes bring your sister back!
Casey has such a calming energy! Loved this episode🤍
AWW, SHANNON!!!!
I’m so glad you’re feeling good !!
I love thattt

How did Casey experience the time when you were coming out/closeted? What was in her mind?
I was one of her first 1000 subscribers, about 11 years ago, so glad I have found her channel again!
i’ve been looking forward to seeing your guys’ dynamic!!! loved this video with casey :)
This episode is so funny 😂 Casey you're an awesome big sister .... i felt the ghost of fletcher circulating around shannon maybe that's why the view in this episode was so heavenly
I always do the mental health check with you:) I love it
shannon we love the consistent bad intro joke😭

14 already?! Wow. Loved this podcast ❤! Your sister is lovely 🥰.
Casey is the best. Her love for you made me cry. You could tell you are her little sister. So cute❤
"Bible Belt LGBTQ Allies In Their Own Words: An Investigation of Cultural Context" would love to hear casey talk a little bit about her phd thesis. :)
I would love to hear another podcast with your sister!!! She has some incredibly insightful points and I’d be interested to hear more even if it’s just a longer version of what you did today!

No one brings out my worst qualities better than my family. Well said!
“Remember when we had a grandma ?” Lmfao i died 😂 that’s some shit i would say.
Loved this episode with your sister. Would love to see her on again! Also the lighting was cool. And how she’s in white and you’re in black. Didn’t know you ran track, basketball & volleyball ❤
What a smart, lovely elder sister! Nice conversation
I listen to every episode of your podcast❤
Awww I love this Ep !! Casey seems to be so thoughtful, sweet, and kind person! Would love to see her again here!
My favourite episode soooo far! Love the analysis and psychology of it! Very interesting to listen to! Would love one more episode like this.
Hi from Budapest, Hungary! ❤
HEY
Oh hello :)
Favourite YT notification ❤
Literally 😌
absolutely loved this epy

Look up IVG, compared to IVF/IUI procedures, I believe it’s still being researched??? I would love this option if it’s available too!
Not that anyone asked, but Casey is the hot sister 🧡 😍
What a beautiful mind. The bond you share is great. Sorry Shannon fans 😎
Oh, and back in the day talk radio was our podcasts...heard, but not seen.
Yes, please do another or more podcasts with Casey. This podcast actually brought tears to my eyes, because I come from a family where the majority of us are single. Here I thought we were alone.
Shannon, can you do a solo episode once a month?
this is the most I've heard casey speak in the 10+ years of following you, and I loved every minute. best sisters ever ❤

great conversation, love the sister duo. shout out Deb, you're a legend
3:48 ur welcome gays 💪🔥

very sweet and meaningful of casey to share how much she notices and admires you
It feels to me like you guyz are more empathetic than usual and that’s why you connect easier with other people; also how else would you find your forever love unless you give someone a chance.
I agree with Casey. No need for sound effects or other bells and whistles. Stripped down podcasts are great.
Such a good episode! Really interesting to get your sister’s perspective on things and you!!
Ok I love Casey but she needs to watch High School Musical stat
WE LOVE U DEBBB !!!!
I loved this episode! I have 2 older sisters and an older brother so I love seeing others with their older siblings 🫶🏻 Casey did such a great job!

I honestly want an all girl gang so I’m not hurt about no boys lol
You can’t make a baby with 2 eggs 😂🤦♀️ please don’t take this woman seriously 😂😂🤦♀️
My friend’s girlfriend did this!!!
(The girlfriend has a daughter with her ex wife)
And she does look like a mix of both moms!!! It’s crazy!!
Crazy amazing❤
I have a question for your sister r/t my autistic son
Casey's wonderful. The beveridge family is ❤
Can you invite Ally Hills?!
And this doesn't even touch on the value of choosing to mindfully and consciously experience a major depression.
Would love to hear your thoughts, from both of you.

This was so sweet! Please have Casey in another podcast. She is very thoguhtful and open with you. Will you do a podcast with your mom? 😌
I do like the reminder for mental check-ins hehe
Hey Shannon, thank you for another great pod, I've really enjoyed them...
My mental health has NOT been good this past week & I can definitley relate to the "not wanting to be here"...
I'd really like to see a longer version with Casey, it was really interesting, even if rushed...

Also, Shannon, you mention that you have hair anxiety but your hair always looks amazing. If the hat makes you feel good then wear it but your hair looks stunning without a hat as well. Hopefully, that can provide you reassurance. You’re doing great. Loved this episode ❤
