This was such a lovely episode, Shannon Burns is beyond endearing and such a bright light. I can't imagine the tremendous courage and introspection it's taken to share her story and be so vulnerable with a public audience, but am so grateful that she was willing to. Thanks for covering this topic. I came out 25 years ago and was entrenched in the church. I was able to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. I still have a strong spirituality with a combination of the mythical parts of Christianity and Buddhism.

Hey Shannon, I've got an observation about the "it''s okay" moment in this episode. It seems like whenever Fletcher comes up in a conversation, you shy away from saying her name directly.
I'm genuinely curious about this "she-who-must-not-be-named" situation when she's a public figure and your past relationship is common knowledge.
No negative intentions in this comment - I'm only scratching my head trying to understand this lesbian relationship math.
It might be because shannon gets really harsh criticism for everything she does. Even when she's sharing her own life stories and not naming any exes, people accuse her of exploiting her partners. Trolls are annoying and hateful and its only a matter of time before they find something to create drama about, unfortunately 🙄 I respect Shannon's efforts to be kind and over the top respectful but haters are unavoidable...

@@goldbluetiger yea i figured bc donna missal (her exes sister) went on an angry rant on Instagram about how shannon is using her sister and how immoral she is for doing a podcast bla bla blah. She now deleted the comment. Right after that shannon censored a part of her podcast episode: in the preview clip she was talking about how zolita changed the music while she was having relations with a girlfriend. In the actual podcast episode, shannon edited out the "with a girlfriend" part. And she seems to censor herself a LOT more since the drama or be vague. Personally, I think she's trying too hard to be respectful and censored but idk what its like to be an online personality.

Her sexual assault story feels so resonant, am so happy that her mother believed her n supported her, mine she was actually the opposite, when her I told about her sexually abusive husband she didn't believe me lol she turned my story around and told my other family members how I have been having a secret relationship with her husband bla bla
