Pariah dog actually has a loop-around where the hilarious bad luck it gives everyone on the map.... actually ends up helping you. Take said dog, take jinxed, and then hide like a biitch whenever combat happens. It makes every combat for anyone who tries to attack a comedy of horrors.
I personally love it to death, but I know that's far from a popular opinion. Could just be how I play video games but the more stupid and off the wall shit that happens in a usually serious game, the better.
@@DaveyGunface and there's so very little as comical as frank horrigans own machine gun ripping both of their legs off because of the absurdist roll they managed on the critical failure table.
There's also an exploit, where you can get a ton of luck if you have 10 in it, get pariah dog, get your luck reset using the hubologists, and then kill the dog. Easy 19 luck.
I haven't played old-school fallout, but I want to pet Pariah Dog. He seems like he needs it
You would probably attempt to pet it, then have your arm be casually blown off via spontaneous combustion, then have that arm kill 2 family members through collateral damage, then go bankrupt paying for their funerals and spend the life in your prison because the police don't buy the story that your arm just casually exploded. It'd probably be worth it though.

It decreases your character model to 10% so running is impossible, then spawns in 25 Deathclaws. It's funny because being 10% size also completely fucks your death cam because your limbs become atrophied noodles 3 times the size of your entire body.
I love the stealth suit, the fact that it got me addicted to morphine is irrelevant.
Shadow Davey is best girl. Let's face it, you can't get better than an ally who is the living incarnation of equality.

Well I can confirm that is in the works right now (although probably won't be available for a while), we're hoping it's a simple copy and paste since 3 and New Vegas use very very similar versions of the G.E.C.K.

(update, tried doing so with a NV mod that adds it in, mostly works as expected, but, need to be sure to take it before swapping ammo types, because due to gear respawning/equipping onto them, the gra version overwrites the mirv it seems)
@@DaveyGunface I know that I'm like 9 month late, but you could always try TTW: start in the Mojave, get the companion to follow you and then go to DC
I mean, it's not really the same has having them in F3, true, but that work without having to port the mods

They're both alternate personalities. The real "dog" is the one that emerges when you combine the two personalities.
Stealth boy usage caused dog to revert into a childish mindset, which for super mutants just mean they become more like dumber 2nd gens. God is what remains of his intelligence, because all nightkin are 1st gen.
Shadow Davey is actually the second best girl, the first is Stealth Suit mk2.
Then we need Shadow Davey in Stealth Suit Mk2.

A power armored ghoul obsessed with nuclear weapons sound like great idea. Add helmet, imply that they're welded shut in their armor like ghost people, make them a Glowing One in Fallout 4 form where they can heal and resurrect, claim that their armor is alternate prototype in same program that aimed to use radiation for energy production, give them alternate radiation based weapons. Bam. Horror of the wasteland incarcerated... but it would have been better if they were used as enemies:(

The gold weight is a good point.
In Skyrim and Fallout 4 you could just drop the gold and tell your follower to pick them up, even beyond their carry limit.
Shadow Davey running towards the camera and unholstering her fatman is truly a terrifying sight.
Since no one else has mentioned it, the bit of Voice Acting you highlighted in particular was Cam Clarke, AKA Liquid Snake in MGS1, among a truckload of other roles. Cool dude. Has done a number of goofy things in the Liquid voice, occasionally with David Hayter.

If you were to revisit this companion, maybe a Kowalski type run? Maybe he spawns somewhere randomly on the map at the start of your playthrough and it's a race to beat the game before he kills you. Just thinking about it makes me anxious.
I've been thinking about coding a "brain aneurysm hardcore mod" into the game. Something like, every bullet you take after Goodsprings add a .01% decibel value that you can die instantly every second.

I remember playing the goty edition of new vegas for the first time when I was 12 and accidentally stumbling apon the old world Blues DLC at level 1 and breaking down cause of the immense difficulty.

one the stealth suit deserves a better friend than me 2 i let E-DE kill himself because he just wanted to and I didn't want my baby to resent me. i still cried but E-DE died for little reason cause i killed caesar and basicaly every ncr member except morales and kimbal so now i hate my self. don't know why I'm saying this. the stealth suit is probably deppressed considering how much i get hurt and how little regard i have for stims and docter bags, so theres that. rest in peace my robo "bud" i didn't and don't deserve

Fallout 3 Shadow Davey in 10 years. Fallout 4 coming out in 50 years. For real though, I have no idea when I will finish both. Life is busy.
don't know if it would alow you to survive, but maybe getting 70 in explosives, getting the "hit the deck" perk (i think this is the name of the perk), wich gives you 25 dt against all explosives, and some power armor, wich you can get training for at the crashed vertbird, would help whit this menace of a companion.
Since the fatman does 600 aoe damage and the most DT can do to reduce damage is %20, you could make a build that manages to reach the threshold and let you survive ~2-3 bombs (120/shot, and the most health possible is something like 400).
The fun thing is that the way I've got my game modded I could easily use this companion since my characters end up having so much DT/DR that I can fire any Mini Nuke variant at my feet and it's not much more than a scratch; iirc, it took something like ten Time Bombs to actually OHK this kind of PC. :P

Honestly dead money was one of the first times in a while for me where I felt as if I actually did something of value and it emotionally impacted me the whole letting go thing really helped me at the time and still does today

The reason he isnt counted as a companion is because none of the modded companions count towards your party total. You can still only have one humanoid vanilla companion and one none humanoid companion, but you can have a literal army of custom followers like Niner and Russell following you at all times
And an army of Zach and Mike clones, all equipped with a grenade rifle

Halfway through the first video, for one reason or another Shadow Davey just swapped genders, male to female. I have no clue why or how but I supported it wholeheartedly as I cowered in fear in the corner

I essentially took a bunch of creepy fucking bugs from different franchises I liked, went to 2 artists and said "Hey, take all of these abominations, but somehow make it into a cute little guy with little puppy dog mannerisms", so now I have an original little mascot thing. I'd like to say they did a pretty decent job.
