    I had to come back on here and let you I used your recipe to the T and let me tell you the tamales were delicious. We all got together myself my daughters, my nieces and sisters and made it a little family moment. I was scared of them running out of water. I was cooking them at a little then medium temperature and that took a little longer. They didn’t run out of water thanks goodness. Everyone loved the tamales. Thank you for this video. Your video was easy to follow. I liked how you showed us every particular ingredient. Especially the meat.

    Girl, you get DOWN with the tamales! This is by far the best video yet that I have viewed to make homemade tamales. I never seen anybody wrap tamales in wax paper and I believe I am going to try that. The wrap appeared to allow the tamale to remain very moist. Thank you very much.

    Hello
    When Spreading masa you can always Spread it all the way to the edge of your corn husk to the sides. It’s personal Preference.
    I like to do it this way because it folds your tamales perfect and don’t have that extra masa just folded in the corn husk. Hope you guys enjoy 😉😋

  • @Mamaward64
    @Mamaward64 4 роки тому

    Oh wow. Thank you for the step by step directions. I always had trouble with spreading the masa correctly or cooking them long enough. You said after sealing up the pot turn on the fire and cook for 1;15. Does that include water heat up or ???? Please advise. Gracias.

    • @letscookthat6537
      @letscookthat6537  4 роки тому +1

      Hello
      No need to pre heat water since it’s not to much water it will heat up fast. So 1hr. 15 minutes check them if masa comes off easy from corn husk it’s ready. Enjoy 🫔 thank you for watching and Happy Holidays..

    Que ricos se miran😋 I love using masa preparada as well. Its so much easier faster and so yummy! I was going to make tamales de queso con jalapeños for Christmas but now im double thinking it lol. Muchas gracias por el video!! 💕💕💕 I have a pack of hojas from last year. Can I still use those? Any tricks for them to be workable where they are not so hard? Or do you just recommend buying new ones?

      Hello
      Corn husk last 6 months to 1 year.
      I think you should be fine just Soak them in very hot water for 1 hour or so.

    Tell your viewers you can use wax paper and banana leaves for wraps if husk are not available...
    Many eateries use this to cut down prep time....
    Wash as you go is a kitchen rule unless you're in a commercial kitchen
    Now to see your cheese tamales...
    As an artist/artisan I am very pleased with your presentation...lucky we have an international grocery and Mercado nearby...most American grocers never have ingredients unless there is a large cultural community...we have that as well

    Just my 2 cents. Having done many recipes for Asian Food I learned to rinse the pork and and chicken well. This prevents and/or Reduces the Scum that floats to the Top. It doesn't reduce the Flavor of the Meat. Please Try and let me know. I am not Japanese or Latin native. Happy Cooking.
    I made your recipe 2 weeks ago and have been ASKED to make more.🥰🥰🥰😘🎶

    New subscriber here😀😀 and this is probably a dumb question but here it goes😂. That little bit of water is gonna last for the whole time the tamales cook?? Won’t it evaporate?? I’m lost😩🤔🤔

    • @letscookthat6537
      @letscookthat6537  3 роки тому

      I usually don’t have to add more water it lasts the one hour and a half, but if you need more just carefully move your tamales a little to the side and add a little more hot water. So u don’t drop the temperature.
