    Awesome!! Thank you so much for uploading without music. These type of vids are very interesting. Would also be cool in the future if perhaps you did like a tour vid showing all the equipment and gear you guys carry in the helicopter. Also super neat to hear the Pilot mention the GTC.H by name

    I am assuming there is a certain age at which one can safely say they are not able to pursue this career anymore? I am 32 and man I wish I had looked into this line of work earlier. Its so impressive to watch, absolutely love the content. I'd love to work as a rescue pilot on one of these one day...

      There is still time! I didn't get into law enforcement until 28 and it was because I wanted to eventually be a pilot for my department. Dream job achieved, check!

    Question re helicopters do you have to balance the load passengers I’m thinking you do but don’t know especially when the winds are increased?

    • @Hook-in-hand
      @Hook-in-hand  Місяць тому +2

      In this particular helicopter, balance and weight distribution of not as much of a factor as in other helicopters. Much of that has to do with the unique design of its main rotor system. This helicopter really handles the wind changes well.

    Is any of the crew certified paramedics? Does the crew have the ability to start an IV if one is needed? If not paramedic trained, would you if need be take some along some paramedics with you?
    It's a comfort knowing there are men & women out there who are willing to do this kind of work.
    With aĺl due respect, I hope I never have the occasion to call you.
    Thank you, ladies & and gentlemen

    Excellent work guys. Any reason not to use the tinted visor?

    • @Hook-in-hand
      @Hook-in-hand  8 місяців тому +2

      Hi thanks! In this rescue, we had some pretty good sun in our faces as we faced west, which the winds favored that direction. Where the victims were was in the shade in the trees below a clear visor helps see through the shadows better. Plus, our helicopter has a very soft, Lexan-type windshield and it was scratched recently when the windshield wipers were activated on a dry/semi-dry windscreen which caused these little scratches that when sunlight hits them, it magnifies and disburses the light in that area making it difficult to see through it, especially when the visor is tinted.

    Who noticed the black bear at 9:05? You can see the bear over looking the creek on the edge of the bank and then it turns to the left before the camera switches scenes.

    How about the choices....fall down or be hoisted up to safety & life. If I was running any of the "clif type"
    rescues...I would tell them to instantly shed all that snarley, encumbering climbing krap. When I used to
    work high...we only took what we needed to do the job! Does anyone think that if you got "hung up" working
    up there & the fire dept. came to rescue you that it would be OK to bring all your tools in the rescue basket..HA !!
