- In this call we responded to the area and our patrol crew, STAR-9, conducted an off-site landing and began to help with the victims. In this case, the terrain allowed for an off-site landing for us. This was determined the best for the patients by our Rescue Specialists (EMTs). Our STAR-9 crew was instrumental in helping treat and transport the patients to the helicopter. The couple was most likely hunting, hence, the hunting rifle.

Hi thank you that’s a great question. At this point, the arrangement we have with the county EMS administrator is that we can only take patients out of a position of peril, and we must transport them to a higher level of care, and that arrangement requires an ambulance. In about a year from now, we will be a paramedic program in which we can transport directly to the hospital ourselves, alleviating the workload for the local EMS system.
Interesting that they won't let you all transport as a BLS helicopter. I think it's cool what you all do. In fact i am in the market for a part-135 air ambulance service and hope to find one soon for the right price lol@@Hook-in-hand
