Did this one today, it is absolutely delicious! For me it was hard to get the right shape, I couldn't do it - it was a really hot day here in Brazil, maybe it made it harder But totally worth it! I'm saving this one in my favorite list!
I have no idea if I'll ever get around to making any of these fantastic recipes, but I've been watching these videos for hours because John's voice is just so soothing.
I made these today. Finely chopped shallots instead of spring onions. (Kinder on my system!) Everyone enjoyed them. I cooked them for 45 mins on gas mark 4.5 which was perfect. We all liked the mix of red Leicester and cheddar. Next time I might include a few fried mushroom slices and some basil or thyme.
My mum used to make turnovers. I helped her a few times but she made her own puff pastry and I never got the knack of it. I will try bought puff pastry and make these. My hubs will love them. Thank you John for demonstrating the technique. I cannot wait to make them. They look scrumptious. I love listening to you. You're the most gentle person and so kind. 💖

A nice simple dish that is guaranteed to taste very good. I think it's absolutely fine to use ready-made puff pastry! The products are now so good that the effort to make them yourself is actually not worth it. I used the Tage Yufka leaves, which I can't make so thin myself. 👍

I made puff pastry once (using your recipe & instructions!) and it was lovely, but you’re correct that it was a lot of work. I happily use the storebought puff pastry, but I haven’t been able to find the large block type that you show in this video. I’ll keep looking for it, though.

Great recipe seems to work with just about any meat we have tried, current favorite is the salami based version, closely followed by the sausage meat version using decased cumberland and lincolnshire sausages. Thanks for the video, take care, God bless one and all.

Mmmm, yummie! Thought I was going to make these and went to buy the ingredients ... saw the pizza dough next to the puff pastry and decided to grab that as well, since my granddaughter isn't mad about puff pastry. And then the whole thing just kind of got up and ran - so now I have two kinds of filling - the bacon and cheese one ( ok, it's actually smoked turkey) and one with spinach, mushrooms, onions and garlic, but also with the cheese stuff. Sadly all bought pastry here in Australia has soy, like almost everything else on the supermarket shelves. I have a soy intolerance, so have a tough time finding anything without soy. I guess it is a cheap filler for everything. Thank you for all your wonder recipes.

Great recipe seems to work with just about any meat we have tried, current favorite is the salami based version, closely followed by the sausage meat version using decased cumberland and lincolnshire sausages. Thanks for the video, take care, God bless one and all.

Mmmm, yummie! Thought I was going to make these and went to buy the ingredients ... saw the pizza dough next to the puff pastry and decided to grab that as well, since my granddaughter isn't mad about puff pastry. And then the whole thing just kind of got up and ran - so now I have two kinds of filling - the bacon and cheese one ( ok, it's actually smoked turkey) and one with spinach, mushrooms, onions and garlic, but also with the cheese stuff. Puff pastry? Will be used for something sweet (again)😅 But most definitely thank you for starting something here! ❤

Sadly all bought pastry here in Australia has soy, like almost everything else on the supermarket shelves. I have a soy intolerance, so have a tough time finding anything without soy. I guess it is a cheap filler for everything. Thank you for all your wonder recipes.
