Personally for me I would have Peter Parker and Mary Jane get married and remember everything they lost and they have their daughter mayday Parker spider girl alive and kicking and finish Mephisto storyline like it was promised in Nick Spencer run.

  • @kaine8911

I would go full fanfiction territory. Making Mayday a pre-schooler and have Peter and MJ parenting her while dealing with SuperVillains, MJ would be very active in helping Peter with Spider-Man. MJ would also be the one in the household who has a job, owning her NightClub and being a model while Peter wouldn’t have a job yet.
I also think it would be interesting if Peter relates to Tombstone in having a daughter and wanting them to be safe.
I'd remove Norman completely, but Oscorp could still exist and there's a new CEO that creates the Gold Goblin to fix the companies image. Peter joins the company as a scientist, secretly trying to find what they company is planning because he doesn't trust Oscorp.
Maybe there's a twist that Oscorp is working with the gangs of New York so when they Gang War happens they're essentially giving weapons to all the sides.

I know a lot of people hate MJ as Jackpot, but I've been trying to find a way to rework it since I don't think her becoming a hero is a terrible idea. The execution on the other hand was. In my version the bracelet isn't magic, just pure science, and was actually a prototype of Regent's suit. Regent, that villain whose tech was used to make a version of Mary Jane Spinneret in a comic most fans loved. Instead of just giving random powers, it copies one person's powers within a certain range. Let's say 7 square miles, so it's not unreasonably big and features her lucky number. Problem is she has to stick with it for a time (staying on theme either 7 minutes or hours) and she can only use it three times (fitting the slot machine design) before having to wait for it to recharge (again using a time with 7 in it). New York already has the biggest superhuman population in Marvel Earth, so you could get away with her getting any number of random powers and use familiar ones like Daredevil's senses, Luke Cage's strength and durability, and of course Spider-Man's whole deal.

Great work, love it. Much better than what we got, and you’ve incorporated a few twists people have suggested like Paul secretly being Rabin and manipulating MJ. And you kept out Jackpot so immediate improvement!
The only problem at the end of day though is that you are approaching this from a position of wanting to keep the momentum and growth going from the end of the Spencer run, and the current ASM creative team from the position of only wanting to keep kicking repeatedly Peter in the tender bits...
I’m glad you mentioned the kids. This was one of the things that annoyed me the most was the wasted potential there. Agreed the kids either needed to serve a purpose or just not be used.
I had an idea of Peter being forced into a situation where he had to rescue the kids and look after them for a while and they bond with him too, so that when they eventually got erased we actually cared about them because Peter cared about them. We were never going to care about them just because it made Paul sad, because we didn’t like Paul! They could have naively told Peter things about MJ and how they don’t like the fact their mommy looks sad sometimes when she thinks no one is watching, and that she would sometimes tell them that Peter was coming to save them when they were trapped in the other dimension. But they could also say that they love living with their new mommy and daddy and how daddy loves them all so much, so Peter’s hopes are crushed again when he realises he cannot do anything to break them up without hurting the kids. This gives Peter more agency than just being a punching bag for the decisions of others.

10:56 what do you mean by that you mean go to jail or Die again because remember in Spencer’s run when they trapped Kindred temporally that Peter did notice that both he and Harry have in common is that they always blame Peter for everything wrong in their lives that all he ever done is try to help them but it just turns out that they are petty and cruel people which they kill and ruin lives because of a sense of entitlement and that they don’t deserve sympathy at all because I think that Sabretooth War manage to put an end Wolverine and Sabretooth rivalry as like the Osborns Sabretooth kills people for fun.

I honestly don't like the idea of making current Paul or a rewrite Paul into a villain to get rid of him. I think it's too cliche and in this rewrite I think it makes MJ seem kind of stupid for falling for it. If the kids were still involved I think it would make more sense, like how some families stay together for the kid's sake. And they can still just vanish and be an illusion by Paul/Rabin in the end.
I think the more interesting challenge is to try and prewrite the next arc as if you're taking over after Wells and have to deal with the shit he took on the book. I have read 0 issues of the run myself, so my idea might not fit 100% but idc that much.
I call mine "One Last Day." The books already disliked and I don't have editors to please so why not get as controversial as possible and burn everything to the ground with me.
Peter's identity is exposed and Aunt May is killed by a villian. Ofc he feels responsible so he decides to be Peter Parker no more and isolates himself from everyone. By being alone and encountering the Sinister Six led by whoever killed May, Peter goes down a darker path and decides to take responsibility for everyone who's been hurt by those he let go and he kills them. I wanna go down the alternate future "Last Stand" Spider-Man route from JMS's run. Peter's guilt and grief and sense of responsibility build up so much and combine so that he decides to sacrifice the man that he was by crossing the killing line to protect everyone else. And so we go to this runs real MC, Paul. MJ is concerned for Peter and wants to talk to him but Paul doesn't want her going near him now because he's dangerous, and MJ tells him that he "doesn't know Peter Parker." MJ uses her Jackpot identity to go after Peter, and Paul is able to track her with that and follow. Unfortunately MJ only reaches Peter as other heroes do, old friends like Johnny Storm and the FF maybe. Peter was somewhat receptive when it was just her but when the others show up he accuses them all of treating him like the bad guy now because he's finally taking responsibility for all the death he's caused letting villians live. Hero misunderstanding fight occurs and Peter only acknowledges MJ as Jackpot, a hero just trying to take down another bad guy. Paul arrives in time to see a mysterious stranger watching and laughing as MJ's jackpot omnitrix thing malfunctions and she dies in the fight. Peter enraged accidentally lashes out too much and seriously injures Johnny. Paul lashes out at the stranger as he proclaims that they're past the point of no return and reveals himself to Paul alone to be Mephisto, dun dun dun. He gloats that the Rabins were a big help and that he isn't technically behind this. No matter what he tries himself it leads to Mephisto being defeated by "the Spider's legacy" so he had to be indirect and nudge villians in Spidey's way. Like retcon Kindred again, or Otto somehow remembering Superior SM despite literally not being the Otto that erased himself, and Wayep being the last. Mephisto dips and thanks Paul for his help in breaking the couple up, and he's now confident that Spider-Man's destroyed his own legacy. Paul tries to go to Peter and MJ and gets brutally beaten by Peter who leaves, and then we get to hear Paul's thoughts as he passes out. Paul hated Peter, he thought he was selfish for the pain he put MJ through pretending to be a selfless hero, but now he realizes she was right when she said that he didn't know Peter Parker. After everything, he could tell Peter held back on him because he didn't want to actually kill him. He realizes that this whole time Peter's been alone and in so much pain, and that this is him sacrificing who he was trying to do what he thinks is the right thing by getting rid of his worse villians. Peter destroyed his body and soul so the world could have a future, even after his was destroyed. Paul helped his Dad destroy worlds, he realizes he's always been jealous of Peter and never liked him because he couldn't be like him. An older and slower Spider-Man makes his last stand in a cemetery as Paul works on some familiar device in a garage. "I can't take responsibility for the whole world like he did, but maybe I can for my own actions." A now much older Paul wanders thru some hellish apocalypse using a webshooter to make a rope and climb into a destroyed Avengers mansion. He uses his own tech and modifies idk Doom's old time machine or something and portals away as demons close in on him. He pops up in front of young Paul and MJ right after they sent Peter home surprising them, and he explains he's from a world far worse than this one. He falls over bleeding from his side and MJ sees the webshooter and helps him while young Paul is suspicious. Not recognizing the old one as Paul MJ asks if he's a friend of Spider-Mans, and he laughs and says he wasn't, but he wishes they could've been. He mumbles to himself that her kindness and determination and willingness to sacrifice herself and stay behind all remind him of Spidey now. MJ says that one of the things she admires most about him is that he inspired her and everyone who looks up to him to be better. Old Paul gives her a device and says "You both do." The thingy will take her home to the same time and place as Peter, and he says not to worry about them because they have one last thing to take care of. MJ doesn't want to leave them but she thanks both Pauls and goes. Both of them are walking and young Paul complains about not leaving right away. Old Paul says "We can stand One Last Day™ here." Then they both turn to face the reader and wink and then kill themselves, kidding about that part anyway. Old Paul collapses, pointing to a place in the distance. Young Paul tries to help but he tells him, "I'm not like him, I can't keep getting back up anymore. Take this and go there. A good man taught me that we have a responsibility to use our power to protect the future. Remember that every time you look at them." Young Paul enters alone and finds the kids whatever their names are, change them again why not. He promises them they'll be okay and opens a portal to any dimension other than this place, it doesn't even have to be 616. Next writer can then do a soft reboot and Marvel can do some big dumb Mephisto event with way too many useless tie ins. Idk that was my attempt at a follow up to the Wells run, burn it down and let something better rise from the ashes.
