The Local Whisper is an ongoing docu-series shedding light on stories that weren't given the media attention they deserve. While the episodes will range greatly, we do want to bring forward some unsolved cases in the Midwest, as they are regularly overshadowed. We are currently seeking to sell this series in order to reach the goal of getting the attention these stories need. . . . Facebook: fa...
Have they ever done DNA testing on the shirt found?
Seems like some really lousy police work. It sounds like they were there for the girl who was supposed to be working that day.
One hour is too long
The cop and his brother. The Police should finally properly investigate the brother before he dies too. That man is such a lier. "What was her name?" - Oh, really :(
Several witnesses, 2 pieces of clothes, several suspects, small town and still not solved case. That is surprising.
Great background music use. It’s not distracting. Thank you.
Such a brilliant documentary maker. Needs an award on documentary making. Clear voices and sensitive music that doesn’t drown the dialogue. In-depth views from the family and investigators. My heart goes out to the family and friends.
Where was Superman in Metropolis when you needed him?
It could have been Bob Barker
Sounds like two guys that were not professionals and they took her for information about maybe a store safe or how to get more money from the store. They probably then just killed her cause she could identify them
Clearly someone in that town knew more than they said. I hope this is solved.
Your channel would do very well if you could publish monthly or so. I know it’s a lot of investment in your time. Its appreciated. Well done.
The quality of your documentaries are wonderful! We need more!❤

I think this is the best, highest quality crime vid I've ever seen, & I've literally watched thousands. It's stunning. Someone local still knows.
I know her Daughter she used to live with my family and she told me about how much she misses her mom and I pray their family gets the closure and justice they deserve 💜
People don’t let your single daughters go out and get a job where they’re going to be a target where they’re just it’s not worth it. Don’t let them do that and I personally don’t think single daughters should be living in their own apartment so I think we should give them the freedom to do their adult life where they’re still living on dry roof and then when they meet somebody and they get married then that’s a safe thing.
Im a new subscriber. I'm very impressed with your style. Thank you for presenting this case. I'm so sad for Barbara and her family. I hope that bringing attention to her case will get it solved. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to watching many more of your videos 👏
I hope this wonderful family get justice 💔
Half way through: they didn’t plan on killing her but didn’t have a plan for their original objective.
Heartbreaking case 💔
They WILL figure this out. Have faith.
That poor woman was taken and probably beaten and raped by both men then murdered. There have been many cases like that.
They'll get them. Have faith.
I’ll never have to worry about being murdered. I don’t light up a room when I walk in, nor am I loved by all, and always bubbly.
I'm sure it's been looked into, the staff Barbara stood in for? Did they maybe know something? Could they have been a connection to the perpetrators? Why would they take receipts and travellers check? How did they know about the safe in the ground?
Those sketches and their photos it has to be Roland and Jeff. Roland has unusual eyes and the sketch artist caught them perfectly.
Just started watching but I wondered if the guys dna could have been on some clothes he donated. Just a thought.
They must have known her and took her with hopes they could figure a way out without killing her.
I came across this story, wasnt really going to watch it but started really getting it to it,thank you for sharing Barbara story,i feel so bad for mom and dad, but why didnt Terry say anything, wonder? But even tho they didnt catch these guys, theyve had to live with this, and have to answer to god, rest east Barbara ❤
Why do you play background music the entire episode? It’s so distracting.
Please contact Othram in Houston to help with the DNA. Crowdsource the funding. If anybody can develop that DNA, they can.
A very sad unsolved 40 year case of a young wife and mother. Hopefully soon we will be hearing the culprits names, and still alive to be prosecuted. I did not hear about any finger prints found at the scene. Especially the woman's bathroom. I'm sure he had to open the door to look around. And other places thief's would touch.
Very sorry for the family and thank you for participating. . I think it was Ronald and Roland. They look like the sketches, have criminal history, know the victim and I get a bad vibe from them. I worked as a counselor for 15 years. Police have information and DNA, go investigate them again. Stop protecting these evil men. Ronald killed his brother and liked Barbara. Get off your ass and go talk to him again!
Beautiful production, thank you
Please Lord Jesus, bring this family the closure and justice they are long overdue 🙏
Why haven’t they pulled DMV records from back then to cross reference trucks? What kind of trucks were between the 14 brothers or the barkers? Why haven’t they gone through traffick citation records from back then between both Countys??? There are so many avenues that they haven’t mentioned. Seems so many pigeon holes views here. Just my opinion. The authority’s seem to be playing hot potato with why the holes exist
Here’s a good question…did the off duty policeman or his brother call from the police station to where Melba was to see if she was ok? Further, what was their demeanor when they got to the station? In a hurry, anxious, did they mention Melba?
40 years of cold injustice. I think the two brothers murdered Deborah.
Thank you for part one, very sad cold injustice for Deborah and her family.
That is totally freaky that Bruce Barker is involved in all those dead bodies …hit n run…on or so close to his property! Plus he was a pedophile convicted of possessing familial porn. The 6 yr old boy who was killed supposedly by a a hit n run was probably a victim of his. This case has way too many oddities/coincidences not not be planned evil!!
Who thinks it extremely odd the owners of the store never had any contact w Barbara’s family , showed up @ the store, or helped in the search? I think they were into something over their heads & Barbara found out so they had to take care of her, just making it look like a burglary.
“It didn’t happen here” she says. I hate to break it to ya sister…IT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE, IN EVERY AGE, EVERY YEAR, EVERY DAY, EVERY HOUR, EVERY MINUTE. WAKE UP!
Sad, cold injustice for Barbara & her family. The sketches look like the suspects.
Great video and a pity it's ruined by non stop ads. GREEDY
So many different people saw two men fighting with someone and no one reported it or checked to see what was going on. Shocking.
The thing that sticks to my mind is they say this doesn’t happen here & yet there were several people &families with extensive criminal records and unsolved deaths. I feel for her family & hope it is solved
So a woman sees another woman fighting with 2 men and she didnt call the Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and take the no of the truck ....ffs ...could have saved poor...Barbara
Um ...you only used 15 exclamation points. Don't you want to be taken seriously?
It's unbelievable how many people saw these two guys and the truck, so many witnesses, and it still wasn't solved!! Hopefully the monsters that did this spent most of their lives in prison for other crimes and at least didn't get to live theirs free. RIP Barbara. I hope her family gets answers soon.
Exceptionally well done!! Thank you! Looking forward to more episodes.
