Beeman tempist was my first air pistol. the pistol was assembled on Alcatraz Island during its last days of use, and was given to me as a birthday gift the day I was born. I still have it. the pistol has been totally reliable ever since. the 80s.
Tempest was my first pistol circa ‘91. Great memories. Keep them coming Andy, your channel is the best on UA-cam, period.
Meh, he never replies to questions so I stopped liking his videos quite some time ago.
@@vincegonzalez7249 You take the words right out of my mouth Vince, I have asked his channel several questions but never got an answer to any.
@@regal163 Kinda Lame, I think.
Takes me back, used to have a 1979 webley hurricane with the scope mount and scope (.22), was a great pistol but some sod stole it in it's original box about 10 years ago, probably worth a a decent bit these days too.
My mate had the Webley Tempest back in the 80’s, I was very envious at the time because I couldn’t afford one. His neighbourhood wasn’t envious though, they hated him🙈😆
@The Cheap Normie I started out with a marksman repeater, 2000k model but they were all variations of the basic G10. Great fun shooting garden slugs, but ricochets from steel BBS always a hazard. Milbro make a plastic updated version now, but it's not as good. The umarex is probs better.
I had a Webley Nemesis back in the 90,s that was pretty good fun.
This looks very much like a reworking of my old BSA Scropion pistol (PA7497) .177 calibre.
It is a heavy pistol but was ideal for preactice for shooting full bore pistols in the past
I always wanted a BSA scorpion back in the day (1981ish) but instead I had a Standard Panther R071.....oh well I could dream!
Back in The Seventy`s I had a BSA Scorpion that also had the same type of Cocking Aid. It was a lovely pistol in .22
Yep , same here and still looks futuristic today , especially with the pistol scope on it.
Had the old Webley Typhoon around 1979 brilliant pistol
I used to have a Webley Hurricane .22 with a telescopic sight (optics designed for use at full arm extension). Used to make a heavy 'BOING' sound when fired..
That gun reminds me of the Scorpion, which I owned in the early 70s.
My first airgun was a Webley Jaguar rifle 177 bought for me by father for my 12th birthday way back in 1977. My second airgun was another Webley a .22 Hawk rifle a couple of years later.
I remember my older brother buying a Daisy Gat Gun way back
Your video review has motivated me to shoot my Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston to determine accuracy. The Benjamin design is very similar in appearance to your Webley.
My first airgun was a Webley Junior too. Great guns.
I've often looked at this pistol. Thanks for the video.
A friend of mine had a springer pistol like this with a telescopic sight on it, and you could hit a peice of string at the bottom of the garden without any problem. We used to hang cans off his mums washing line, but it was too easy, so then we used to cut the string with .22 pellets. Great memories 👌
Nice reveiw Andy, I might look our for one of these.
½l0
You were high
Just picked up a Hatsan model 25 SuperTact QE in 22 caliber (springer) . More plastic than i care for but so far holding up well . Also about two times higher in price than the Webley. Nice review always enjoy seeing the affordable products . Good job MATE.
Fantastic handgun Andy. Thank you for sharing this with us. Have a great day.
Nice to see Wembley still going well.
Andy maybe you could try reviewing the Browning Buckmark URX, a lovely cheap ( even cheaper than the Webley), very accurate low powered and low recoil break barrel pistol suited to indoor shooting and for introducing juniors to the sport due to its light weight and easy cocking.
Nice! Love budget break barrel pistols!
Nice review and test Andy. I have the 22 version and its a quite accurate pistol 😃👍
I’ve got the original typhoon
.22 it’s a really good and accurate gun
I had a Webley typhoon many years ago.
Great as always. I'm waiting for the Alpha Wolf Caliber .22 FAC full video. Especially the tuning method and using the Advance part with pellets and slugs which is not in factory set with .thanks
Outstanding review !!
@AAR Andys Airgun Reviews - thought you hit that fly on the first shot with the alloys..... but on reply he was just sensible and flew off between shots! LOL
My 1st airgun was a Webley Tempest, in mid/late 1980's
Hi Andy Great vid I know about the lead hence the alloy pellets but I’m sure was that ricochet I was hearing
Reminds me a bit of the old BSA Scorpion, which was a cracking air pistol
Had my bsa scorpion out at the weekend. Its a beast of a pistol still giving 5.5flbs after 25 years of service
Had a scorpion many years ago and yes was a beast but as I can remember I was shooting farm pigeons in side the sheds with it and head and lungs and heart shots and was hobby pellets made I think BSA??
I have one with an after market shoulder stock, rifle scope and suppressor. Its a great ratting gun for shooting around farm buildings. I have owned it from new in 1989, 😊🏴
Still got my BSA Scorpion took it out the other week for a plink an the safety spring broke. I then dropped it putting it away an smashed the rear open sights, 😩
@@maverickcat1 unlucky 😔
The older ones where the Tempest, Hurricane and Typhoon.I had the Tempest and a much older steel Premier. The new one looks more like a BSA Scorpion than it's original Webley namesake.
I had one of those plus the pump action grossman
Good little pistol to get someone into the sport. It is probably as good as I would be with a pistol at a very reasonable price.
Amazing review Andy, as usual. Can you advise on type of the red dot sight ? Seriously thinking I might have to get one
Always love Friday morning for these reviews! Any chance you'd be able to get hold of a Zbroia for testing Andy? Would love to see your take on some of their rifles, they appear to be fantasticly well-made
That Brings Back Memories 🔫🔫👍👍👍👍
I think you should do a retro pistol review sometime in the near future. I know there would be many happy viewers😁
Really great view and might get me back inti the sport, now were did I put my webly junior?
Greetings from Buenos Aires - Argentina. Quite similar to my HATSAN Mod 25 Vortex; recoil reduce system as well.
Had a similar model to this sure it was a B S A Scorpian 22 call , 40 years ago.
Still have my Tempest, had it around 35 years
I can beat that. I bought mine in 1981 and still have it.
Damned good first grouping sir with the lead pellets.
I still have a tempest with origonal box bill of sale guarantee it also has the origonal pellets and Alan key
I had a tempest as a kid awsome
Really great vid.
Loving the inclusion of Lead Free 👍
Might be a good idea to run the alloys through a pellet sizer before using them
If they need that kind of work then the product has issues. I shoot between 50 to 200 shots per session. I am not going to "fix" something that should be ready out of the box.
I have a pellet sizer I got from trrobb and trying to get those alloy pellets through was near on impossible they they are so hard.
@@5Komma5 I have pellet sizer's for bsa .25 barrels they are smaller than European .25 barrels.
Hopefully the trigger on this Webley is better then the Benjamin Trail NP,..haha, my god, ANYTHING is better than Benjamin's trigger, I hope.
This Webley Typhoon looks to be the type of springer pistol I would like to own.
With regard to pellet type, as an old time shooter, for plinking pistols I would have thought the obvious choice would be RWS Hobbies or similar flat heads.
Hello Andy I hope all is well with you and family, I have a request for you and it is could you please do a review/comparison of air arms diabolo field pellets in .22 vs the diabolo field heavy pellets please as I cant find any reviews or comparisons on youtube.
is there any downside to the alloy pellets in general?
they ricochet more?
Great review. Might just be my next purchase.
I have an Umarex pistol in .177 that is great fun to shoot. I have found that it is more accurate if I take the cocking assist off while shooting. I found the same results after cutting off the plastic end on my Hatsan 125 springer, to expose the barrel. I obtained even better accuracy after I crowned it.
Love your channel. Keep the videos coming.
Charlie
hi Andy could you please tell me if it's possible to use pellets in a bb co2 blown back gun as I'm looking at them and the prise is a lot different thanks
Andy.
Great review as always.
Not sure where you got your price of under £90, best I have seen is £107 to over £120.
Regards
Peter
I have a Feinwerkbau 103 and ive been shooting ISSF 10 meter pistol for 4 months!
I stay 5 times in third place amd once in fifth!
Day 28 of January 2023 ived make the exam to the Portuguese shooting federation(FPT- Federação portuguesa de tiro) and my record is 463 in my second match and in last match day 8 February 2023 i made 444 points.
The FWB 103 was a gift from my brother!
Have nice shoots
Stay well
I have a hurricane its still going strong 💪 its brilliant
Of course their is an obvious solution to the harder alloy skirt issue. Manufacturers simply need to produce them with skirts that are tapered in cross section so that they are thinner towards the edge so that they'll give equivelant results in velocity to the equivelant weighted lead pellets.
looks very simliar the old BSA Scorpion I had donks ago - even to the barrel extender
What is the ‘barrel extension’ for? (It doesn’t extend the barrel, that’s for sure.)
Will this gun improve after a running Inn period say maybe 500 shots ?
Hi, just watched your video. Shooting at the target. Did you adjust the back sight ? pellets kept going to the left of the target. From John J. Saint James City FL
I like that it's a Webley. =)
Alloys being harder, may cause a tighter, ie stickier down the barrel ?
Used to have both the Webley Senior and Junior .
Wish I'd kept them the prices they demand as collectors pieces is rediculous
Can you compare the SMK XS26 - .177 Pellet Air Pistol with the webley?
Isnt that the same old Hammerli Hornet/Browning 800/Hatsan 25 knock-off ?
can ya review the gammo arrow please
Air arms used The same sawt of recoil system on 1 of there. Rifles this little gun. Is fair priced. And I think. It would put a smile on alot of face's. That's pretty good accuracy for a £90 pistol I might have to get 1 👍
I have a little urge to pick up something in this category of pistols,.... and this looks pretty good for the price, although I think I'd go for the Hatsan Model 25 to get the fibre optic sights over this one. I'd like to see a side by side comparison of this vs the Umarex Trevox, as that's also in the running.
I have it - better trigger, better ergonomics and way more power.
Agree. Hatsan Mod 25 (Vortex version) has better open sights, and more power (gas piston); plus better trigger (Quattro). Anyway, both are quite nice "toys".
I have the Umarex Trevox and using QYS Streamlined Heavy Pellets (9.56gr) 5.96 ft lbs and it’s deadly accurate.
I've got a boxed BSA Scorpion if you need to review one cracking pistol and closer to the pistol 6lb limit 😮
Any link to the alloy pellet used?
This is the same gun as the Hatsan model 25 I’ve had for a few years. Great little pistol for the very little money. One thing I’ve found the is that the point of impact changes significantly with the cocking aid on as you’d expect with the greater mass on the front end. Also when I’ve tried red dots or a pistol scope I was unable to stop creep of the optic, I think the sledge recoil reduction system actually makes this worse as the barrel and spring housing jumps backwards on firing.
Aha! I must admit I thought 'I've seen this before' and when Andy demonstrated the recoil absorber I thought 'Isn't this that Hatsan?', it's just not got the fibre optic sights of the Hatsan.
Or the Browning 800 Express
Can u by chance get your hands on the Weirach Hw70 black & do a review? It'll be nice
Can I ask which little red dot you used ? There are so many different types us mortals may need a hint 😅
Hi how good 👍 is umarex trevox or the webley typhoon for target s what's the difference 🤔 thanks
Get hatsan one it has true glow fiber sights!
Can the chair on that range table be easily removed?
Has anyone hunted with it? How does it do in that situation especially on squirrel and bunnys or even as a trap line gun
is there actually any difference between these and the Hatsan model? they look virtually identical to me 🤷♂️ i own the Hatsan version think i paid around 80 quid for it in DAI leisure near Merry Hill shopping center Brierly Hill which has some great guns in there for great prices i might add, anyhow i absolutley love it! i also bought a Kral Puncher NP-02 with the big buddy bottle as a stock plus an air cylinder up front 😲😁 what a cracking gun for the money, everyone has their own tastes but i think it looks beautiful aswell imo 😉👍 great review Andy keep em coming
I bought a small weberly from a friend but ther was no name like junior on it. Memory from 60 years ago I think it said mk.1 but I’m not sure. I sold it when my son started looking for it, he was 3 or 4 years old. He won the university gun club competition. He needed an FAC. To keep a gun at home and not a nearby range.☹️
What brand shooting bench do you use?
What do you think about the umarex trevox?
I want to buy one of these after this review! But I can’t find one under the £90 prince range!?
Could you mention a .west Kent seller that was your sort of price
looks like the hatsan .. was it 25?
Prices vary over £100 but I have seen a sub £90 one advertised. Nice entry level pistol. The problem I had as a youth was the strength to cock springers and this could be an ideal gun to introduce young shooters?
complimentary wrist work-out with every shot ! positively ideal for - limp wristed bubble wrapped every one gets a ribbon for showing up - typical contemporary children 😼👍
I bought one of these but unfortunately it fires way too low. I've adjusted the rear sight as much as possible but still aim is way off.
rebranded hatsan?
What’s the size of dovetail rail? I got a red dot with rail size 20-22mm which seems quite large for this rail.
Dovetail rails are usually 9-11mm you have a red dot to fit weaver/picatinny, you will need an adapter. stay safe. Andy
Really enjoyed that one Andy. Thanks
Have you seen the new Barra 400e full auto ELECTRC BB rifle which can fire over 1000 BBs on a single battery charge? It is awesome, but expensive, $400.
Is there ANYONE who knows where to actuall BUY the .177 and the .22?
Andy please explain what jouels mean? cvause i don't know what jouels means ? thanks .
Great video, nice little shooter, might get one myself. Just wondering, the tripod your using on the bench, is it a Rokstad ELP V Mount Tripod from Vector Air?...
Hi, Yes it is a rockstad, I love it, it was from Vector Air. i was in there on Saturday and they only had about 6 left, and I’m told they order about 100 at a time😱🥴. stay safe Andy
@@AAROnair Thanks for the reply, I've got one from Vector Air, arrived today, GREAT.......
Watching the struggle with the lead free alloys, I wonder how the chronograph measurements went down...
At what distance is the target ?
Hello Andy , sorry slept in . Iam getting better slowly . I loved the show today. Its a wow 👌 from me . Something to teach us new skills ....... thank you Andy , your a star 🌟..... cheers Simon 🍻
I prefer the older overlever pistols of yesterday they set the standard, other pistols were just cut down break barrel air rifles, they old BSA scorpion had a similar cocking aid to this too
where can i get one ,,,, spot on
“No more encores”……………. followed immediately by a “Michael Kors” advertisement. Spooky! 👻
I had an original typhoon 40 years ago , I’ve got a hurricane now
Hatsan 25 is very similiar both made in Turkey
