This is a great bike. I have the light blue one. I changed the pedals, grips, and seat. Many of the people on UA-cam are upgrading bikes to get you to buy the parts using their affiliate links. Wolftick nation is probably one of the most honest ones though and doesn’t recommend parts that suck.
I agree, Wolftick is very honest and keeps things in a budget. With this channel I will continue to give updates on the status of the GT. Make sure to subscribe. Thanks
Got a buddy who has the same bike and has done a few upgrades to it he loves it, excellent bike for the price in my opinion!
I rode yesterday much harder then I have and I think I have found my first problem with the bike. Nothing an upgrade can't fix, but that was the point a great budget bike to make better as I go. I will be doing another review video in a couple of week make sure to subscribe to check it out, Thanks
Already did sub a, just had an epic crash today and completely bent my handlebars, planing on upgrading to race face and using the others on a budget bike I’m building also. Have to see if I can bend them back there first. Going to be a go away bike 😎 there in one of my videos
Great review 👍 Just bought one this month to get back to riding after 7 years or so off the bike (but was a pretty avid mtn biker from the late 80's until then, even raced for a few years in the mid 90's after I got out of the army). Farther out of shape than I thought, lol, but for the money, especially with the slim pickings and bloated prices (that I can't afford right now) in local bike shops, I think it's an excellent budget bike. I've only had it on single-track a couple times /short rides just to see how it handled (it did fine), but several times riding around the dirt path in the city park to build some kinda base fitness, lol, obviously it does fine there too.
On the preload adjustment: as another mentioned, it's primarily for setting sag for your weight, but it's also a makeshift poor man's way to soften or stiffen the fork for various trail types (stiffer for more aggressive technical trails, for example). Not as good as having rebound, and compression adjustments or a lockout, but it's there and it helps 😊✌
Thanks for watching
The best upgrades for this these GT's are a drivetrain and a 1x9 or 10. Something with a good climbing gear. A fork upgrade is good also.
Yep, those are great upgrades
Nice bike! I wish I had gotten this color on my aggressor pro. Definitely a good mtb to start on and work your way up to a more expensive bike.
Yup that color is the best in my opinion.
As you can tell I am a big fan of red. I feel the same way great bike for the price so far.
The preload is simply to help with the sag of the fork when you put your weight on the bike so that the bike is not too low in front. Before I switched to air I had a coil shock and I simply adjusted mine all the way up as I am a heavier rider. You can adjust as you go and see how it feels on the trail because their is no setting really for these budget forks it would be all about feel on the bike as you ride once your not bottoming out. Hope this helps you.
Thanks man.
Your next upgrade should be to shorten the stem and replace the garbage fork with an air fork.
I did shorten the stem as you will see on the next video. The forks will be coming soon enough. What would you recommend?
Also I recommend you put a dropper post on that thing it’s a game changer
Oh boy!!!!! I am already looking at some. That is something I was thinking about before I knew they existed.
@@MTBRideFree Yeah when I bought my bike I thought it was just another thing that could break… I thought wrong it’s a game changer. I talk about it in my review of the Roscoe 7 I ride… Check it out man
Having the ability to raise and lower your Center of gravity going up and down hills is a game changer and becomes essential once you have it
Good solid bike and you. Did a good job
Thanks 👍

Can you provide the model of the fabric grips that you used. ? Will the 31mm funguy fabric grips work?
They are in fact the 31 mm funguy grips. They worked just fine. I had the move everything in a tad but not enough to notice.
Point of contact upgrades like pedals and grips always help with the way a bike performs and feels. Great looking bike, love all the red accen of color! Sweet ride!
Totally agree!
Where do I get the pedals?
I got mine from my local bike shop, but I guess you could get them from raceface's website. they are the Chester's.
That's the same color one I have
How do you like the bike?
@@MTBRideFree its really nice
I CAN'T HEART YOU!
?
@@MTBRideFree Voice Audio is very low.
I just got this bike, and I wonder why any upgrades might be necessary?
I'm guessing it would maybe be better just to get a bike which already has the features which I'd be adding with an upgrade. Or ... ? Am I maybe wrong?
I thought the same thing, and yes, you could just go out and buy a better bike. But after I did a lot of research I came to the conclusion that it would still be cheaper to get a cheaper bike then add to it. I didn't see much in the difference of product on lets say a 700 dollar bike then a 400 dollar bike. I also felt that going any higher in price I might as well spend the money on a full suspension. The grips I put on are really just for looks as I can't tell much of a difference but pedals and tires I really felt are a must and I can only imagine the change in riding as I go up with those. The biggest thing though is it is just fun to upgrade, It makes the bike yours, it becomes uniquely yours. I hope this helps and I will be doing more reviews and upgrades over time so keep a lookout. Stay positive and ride your bike.
@@MTBRideFree - I knew nothing about bikes until recently, and I'm surprised to see that some bikes can easily cost $4,000. Just totally nuts for me.
It's hard to be dissatisfied with my Aggressor Pro mountain bike. Hardly the best, but a hell of a lot of bicycle for the amount of money spent.
Agreed. It will be a long time before I spend that kind of money on a bike. The GT so far has not disappointed me. I really think it is a great starter bike and you can take it to the next level with some budget upgrades.
@@MTBRideFree - But first, I need to take myself to the next level, because I'm so out of shape - like a slug.
