You guys make the best how-to’s!
😂
Haha, very funny 🤣
Generally the number of spacers is determined by the width of the frame at the bottom bracket. If the frame is 68 mm wide you need to use three of the 2.5 mm spacers to make up for the extra 5 mm of the inserted BB shell. If the frame is 73mm wide you only need the one on the drive side.
The best change to modern bikes is the 1x drivetrain. The dropper post is a close second. Disc brakes and clutched derailleurs have been out a long time so thats why I'm saying 1x and dropper are the best recent changes to become standard.
You guys are the best!!I love watching your guy's videos, I have an aggressor GT myself and have been learning all sorts of things... so educational and relaxing. Thank you!!
Im on about 40 something bikes now i built for other people and i 100% concure and agree with you guys "how many spacer for the BB's" its a lottery me and my buddy tried writing it down from model to model and guess what ......................... different every bloody time!
You guys rock love the video and even though its not a "how to" video it still rocks and shows how easy it can be ......... always remeber front to back to losen the BB's though or you end up wrecking the frame like i did on a Specialized P1 when i used a air wrench OMG that was a costly build.......
I had always been a one spacer on the drive side guy. Until recently, I’ve been removing that spacer and I’ve had such a better experience with shifting especially in the larger cogs. Because the chain isn’t as out of alignment. You may have experienced chain wanting to drop down a gear when pedaling backwards on the easy gear. I have none of that anymore. But like you guys said it all depends on the bike.
Sane exact results I had. Along with mounting chainring on inside of crank spider. Much better chainline.
Thanks Mashley, ot all depends on your ride lol. Thanks for the comment and watching brother.
Your hub will be built for a specific chainline-- normal, boost, super boost all differ by 3mm increments. You need to select your spindle lengths and run spacers depending on your bb to match those chainlines. That or you can get chainrings with 3mm incremental offsets as well. You can also do whacky things. I run a boost hub, with a spindle length meant for super boost with a nonboost chainring. So I basically get a boost chainline to match my hub, but super boost pedal spacing lol. Wanted to try wider spaced pedals to see if my knees liked those better.
I put the spacer on the non drive side because it had my chain line all wonky when it was on the drive side.
Shimano spec the chain line further out so the chain doesn't clip the 2nd highest cog when in the 11tooth.
Just roll your bike backwards and watch the chain skip.
Professional install when the mallet comes out! Wolfman knows it...
😅😅 He just does not want to admit it Chuck U Baby!
73 mm is the bottom bracket shell width, 122.5 mm is the spindle length.
Just the info I was looking for thank you greatly
Excellent guys can’t wait to see you crank it baby
Thanks, guys! We are looking forward to slowly upgrading and testing the upgrades in this one.
Funny side note, the first ride I took with my GT I had to swat a tick off of my leg. That’s when I knew, I had the right bike and was following the right guys!
If the Wolfman were a monster, he would be the Goblin King, from the Lord of the Rings. Coolest monster ever.
I love gramma, I typically cut the cable guide on the bottom with a box cutter on one side of the raised square section. That makes it easy to pull the cable off and the plastic flexes outta the way and doesn’t appear cut. Just in case you want to revert to 3x
The banter between you two is the best. 😂
Hell yeah dudes! Great video as we’ve come to expect. Love the install videos for sure.
Those RockBros pedals are really nice. They have a larger platform than the Chesters, as well as a couple more pins. They work great for my big ass feet LOL.
Thanks for all you guys do.
Got a (hollow bottom bracket) iXF crankset and 32T oval chainring ordered today...along with a set of MT200 hydraulic brakes! New Uno stem and Jessica headset arrived yesterday and Wake handlebars will be here Friday!
Dude! Sounds like a total Wolftick Videos build! BOOM 💥
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS ...FOR SURE! Handlebars arrived a day early...also ordered a personalized headset cap and a fender. 👍
New Specialized 2.6 F&R tires and tubes should be here any day too! 🤙
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS... Decided to return the Wake 31.8 x 780 handlebar and Uno 31.8 stem. Ordered a Trail 1 35mm x 800mm Crockett bar and 35mm Slickrock stem yesterday.
the 122.5 is the length 0f the axle. you can buy different lengths to adjust your chainline. the 73 is the width of the bb shell.
👍Thanks brother, good info.
Show me who sells different lengths lol. The dub has 1 length and shimano does regular and DH spindle for 84mm BB
I have those pedals in my Ironhorse Warrior 3.1 26" and they are solid pedals . 5 years on my bike and counting.
I just bought a Large Gt Pro for 380$ at Dicks Sporting Goods great deal I have Brand One Pedals for it so far I will be putting a 1×Crank Set soon and new tires
I just got this crankset,a deckas 32t oval chainring,a gold shimano hollowtech 2 crankset and the complete acolyte groupset as a birthday gift to myself for my GT Aggressor Pro. Looking forward to getting it set up,nervous I'll mess it up if I attempt the installation.
I just for first-time had one of those plastic spacers fail and come apart! I've actually been using an oval sprocket on my polygon and really liking it
Love your videos guys! I know these types of videos are for the diy'er but facing the bottom bracket is pretty important especially on these aggressors which are powder coated and leave alot of unevenness unless faced.
Chain line will determine chain ring mounting. You should always get the option for both inside and outside.
Agree
Thank you for sharing : Like 377 for you :) Greetings from Poland
I have upgraded my Aggressor pro with a 11-50 cassette. Now that bike climbs up them hills.
@wolftickvideos ...Watching this vid again and thought as you were working around the handlebar that the stock 90mm stem will probably be one of your next upgrades!
"We don't do how to video's..." 😂 Great video, an interesting topic you brought up would be which products are knockoffs and how do they perform compared to the original.
Well thanks brother, appreciate the attentiveness.
Super job guys. My Wife has that same bike and color. Only real complaint is her bars are super wide.
Wolfman reminds me so much of my LBS guy. I could say good morning and he'd tell me I was wrong lol. BUT I don't think Id want it any other way. Currently resurrecting an 03 Trek 8000 with the Isis drive. BB was thrashed to the point of having to be extracted (I bought it that way unknowingly) the Isis stuff is just too much hassle so I figured it was a great time to go 1 by. Probably gonna go with this option. Thanks for the video.
Dude 😂 i was looking gor some videos bc i am rebuilding a diamondback sorrento none of wich is stock but i found u guys and i cant stop watching 😅😅😅
Great video very informative love watching your videos helping us try and do things we would never do over wise thank you for sharing 👍
I 😂 when I saw you spit out the master link. I drive my wife crazy when I have a razor blade in my mouth...there are times when I need that thing and I will never not know where it is when it hangs out with my lower lip. The tongue is a tool and the mouth is a tool box. Haha!
13:40 You are right. But generally you are meant to use one thick spacer on the drive side. But as you say it can vary between bikes, I can be due to bad tolerances in on the BB shell, or different thickness of the bottom bracket. But yes, use the spacers needed to get it working.
I had to on my bike, but it was axle shims instead, had to use 4 thin shims for the preload ring to work. But that was on a Nicolai/Geometron, so not a tolerances issue issue on the BB shell, it's actually 73mm. So my guess is the Chris king BB is a bit narrower at the cups, but it came with the spacers to account for that.
Another thing can be slightly too long/wide axle.
This is my favorite part of Tuesday
If you had one of the old Shimano square taper 3x crank sets you could just remove 2 of the gears since they bolted on individually. Good job, I have one of those to replace a different brand that I have had issues with the left side crank arm coming off.
Have you tried using isopropyl alcohol for installing grips? They slide right on and it dries fast. It even feels good if you get it on cuts on your hands.
I’ve been building mine up. Bought it two weeks ago for $299.99 L size Baby Blue
Upgrades so far (**some still in mail)
Shinano Deore M5100 1x10 Crankset**
Shimano Mt201 Brakes**
Raceface Chester Bars
Raceface Chester Stem
locking grips
Maxxis Aggressor rear tire
Maxxis minion DHR II front tire**
Rockshox Recon 100mm
Risk headset
Forte flat Pedals**
Micro shift Advent X drivetrain and shifter
Shimano 10s chain
All in just under $1000 with all work done by myself.
1k bikes have similar but lesser specs, so I guess the real question is how much better quality are 1k bike frames? I just like that I could split up the payments for the bike and components over the course of a few paychecks.
Is a better name brand bike a nicer thing to ride? Maybe, but I like the look, and I love knowing my every component on my bike and the cost and quality.
Fork and pedals are the only components worth upgrading that will perform and increase speed/confidence while retaining resale value
Strong rims will ensure you get home
The Rock Bro pedals are great I think. The pins grab my shoes really well and they will shred your shins and calves so it's great that your feet stick to them. Wear pads.
🤣 For sure man, they hurt the same as the Chester's lol!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I've got so many scars on my shins and calves from my Chesters.
Bought an aggressor yesterday. Time to get busy now.
I Actually learned something and I'm from Benton so you know that's pretty impressive!..
🤣🤣Holy Sh&*! That means the world to us. Thank you!
The IXF cranksets are nice budget options, but a bit flexy. There's a growing argument for shorter cranks for many riders. I have long legs, but prefer 165mm cranks. For shorter legged riders, and kids there's a definite need for them. In China you can find stiffer Cruzbike branded MTB GXP cranksets in 155/160/165/170mm lengths. The cranks alone are the same price as an IXF full package with chainring and BB, so you have to buy chainring and BB separately. But I do think there needs to be more pushing of shorter cranksets and this brand fits a budget price point. might be worth a look at as it's a fairly inexpensive way of drastically improving ride and pedalling for many riders.
That bike looks good. I still think My next bike is going to be the Poseidon Norton thou.
Dude! We were juat looking at those, super sweet bike!
New bike, woohoo 🎉
Oh it's coming!!
I'm a big guy 255 and ride a Gt Agressor Pro and would love to upgrade the front fork. What would u suggest for a athletic bigger guy fork wise?
Back to front on both sides of the bottom bracket. I’ll have to remember that.
I may have to buy that shirt
I like the frogs. My Amazon ixf set came in a couple weeks ago for my aggressor pro, and it came with plastic spacers 👎
What a bummer Mr. PATRON 👍 I hate that for ya, juat be on the lookout. Project Gummy Worms failed, or broke lol. It took quite awhile though. I wish you could just order a pack of the aluminum spacers.
A Rockshox Silver TK air fork would do the trick , Shimano MT 200s brake set and a Kitsuma dropper post.
One on drive side all the time ...73 none on none drive side...68 one one drive side (to make 73)..if you use a chain gaurd mounted to the bb . Take drive side spacer off the bracket will take its place.
So u have it correct.
What grease do you use.can I use grease that is used for cars or does it have to be a specific grease
Them ledges do the cheapo shit on them too😅
Ya tengo 3 GT AGGRESSOR, la de mi hijo, mi esposa y la mia.
Awesome!! Sounds like your a GT familia!! 😉
Always got to be careful to not blow out the innards lol.
Hey, sometimes it happens brother
For the next conversion try the JG Bike 1X. Much better finish and fit then the IXF on my other bike.
For sure, you know we put one on the Ardor I think?? Super smooth indeed and good finish.
Well guess I'm late to the party and missed that one 😮
Good Afternoon wolftick and wolfman❤
Hello Willard!
Scooter race
9:56 you can pull the wire crimp off, no need to cut it.
My trek has a 1x but it was fight to get the right bottom bracket
I actually just did a 1 by conversion on my Buddy's GT Agressor pro. Those left ahifter thing wont fit any of my bikes lol
I ordered mine today!!
13:20 are you serious? You use what ever spacers required to make the pedals/cranks centered in the frame. Just look at the clearance between the cranks and chainstays.
The actual chainlike is dictated by cassette cog sizing from gear to gear. Shimano just say space the chainring 3mm further outwards than the center of the cassette to be safe.
If your chain isn't clipping the cassette cogs in 1 lower gear than your currently in then set your chain line in the middle of the cassette (with offset chain rings/washers or the correct cranks that match your rear hub/dropouts)
Do you know if the crank compression bolt a 19mm? Trying to replace a lost plastic factory piece.
That's the problem junk parts on a factory build bike n we have to change it out
Thanks for the "how to" !
Oh my brother in law bought a ledge elevate it matches his truck a 2017 Toyota tocoma red
Love this channel
Great "How to" Video 😜
Speaking of blowing out the innards... You see that video of the whale? lol
Love all yall videos. Could yall do a mid-drive bafang bbs02 e bike conversion on the gt aggressor pro. Would be a sick video.
Still size my chains that way!
love these. its the reason i got one
I'm a longtime father - my son is 30 years old. So I know, you must listen to your Dad, or you may cut the chain too short, cut the brake cable unnecessarily, or buy the wrong tool. It's not that you're dumb. Instead, it's that he's wiser than you. - Only because he already made the mistake he's trying to save you from making, based on his experience.
16:54 The timing on this chainring is not optimal, common issue on the cheap ones, so you don't get as strong effect. Some are actually adjustable, but with direct mounted ones with a system like Race Face Cinch you can adjust it.
those cranks do not look like the IFX cranks I have. all three of mine have a raised space on the inside in the middle and full branding on the outside
Did you find out what pads to replace the too pre pads with signed nick
Sweeeeet!!! The guys at Moab cycle in Murfreesboro Tn, said that it would be a 1000 to switch my whip to 1* !?!? Shame on you guys for lying about the compatibility of the stock derailleur!!! Thanx guyz and SUBSCRIBE!!!!
I actually want to see how this bike compares to the Mongoose Adror X1... A vs. would be a nice video
That would be! Especially given the prices we got them both at.
Isn’t the BB spacer supposed to go on the outboard of the BB? It sounds like you’ve used the spacer intended for 68mm shells.
Hair spray is key for slip on grips.
Heard that! I need to get into wolfmans restroom lol.
12:33 That's the axle width.
Are there different crank arm length options? I need a 160mm for Jen's mtb
Most bikes just need the one spacer on the drive side if it's a 73mm BB
Do you a cannondale scalpel 1,000 bike I had too get cable on min n a trim back too fore $43.00 at bnb bikes in cedarhill tx
What crankset would work with the stock bottom bracket ?
Here is some affiliate links for tools and crankset. Good luck

What was the name of the 1x that fits into the tapered bottom bracket?
There is a bucklos brand that sent one to us previously. Please look in the links in the description. There is one listed there 💪
9:54 what's that phillips head screw for?
Why doesn't it have"IXF"printed on the cranks? Mine does
Hey brother, it's weird? Same brand same jinquin who makes it but??? No clue lol
Use old school hairspray for grips…slide right on and dries tacky!
That's what you do when you get a bike with those kinda cranks on them they cut corners putting that shit on it😊
Looks good, the Matt black makes it look pretty much stock! Did you manage to get rid of that black strip that was under the derailleur clamp?
Where do I look for frame size?
i was wondering if its a 32t or a 34t
Are those frogs for real or is it a sound track?
Sadly they are real! 🤣
I like bucklos square crank arms easy enough for me Im a simple guy
After all your experience with the gt’s do you need to change the rear detailer and rear cassette or can you just change the cranks to a 1x
Just change the crank and try to match the rear chain line.
I keep trying to do this upgrade bud I love my 3x every time I ride my bike I said I will do a 1x bud But never do it😂
I'd love too send you a picture of my new bike too you'll n the specialized hardrock compact disc
Right now dicks sporting goods has the avalanche for 439. 1x9 tapered headtube
Hey guys that chain is a little short
You really think so? Wolfman was thinking it was a link too long lol. We will see on the realtime review man, thanks for looking out.
Yeah in first gear derailleur is way to stretched out and in high gear derailleur cage should be sitting back further
Huge sale on the bikes at dicks right now. Aggressor pro back to $399.
Do you have too swap all that shit😅
Lol, longest width seems correctly scientific to me! The frogs are a permanent fixture to the channel now, just like the chickens and rooster. If it's a Tuesday in July, you have to put 3 spacers on both drive and non drive sides or else! 😂😂🦥
🤣🤣Watchout Slothsquatch! You may start something!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS haha, I hope I do!
