@@randallforrest7683 I just got my SRRV card renewed for two years. Didn't need an appointment and it took about 30 minutes. Cost 20 US dollars. Came back in an hour and they handed me my new card. Awesome.

Hey Steven……. Thank you for what you do!…….I’m a retired E-7 US Army w/ pension and I’ll be in Phills early April but plan on doing SRRV Expanded courtesy. I already E-Mailed Mary Rose and will contact her when I arrive in Manila.
Each time I watch an SRRV Expanded Courtesy visa UA-cam, I pick up a few additional pieces of information. Yours was very, very good and I appreciate your good works! The cost of the apostille, while I am still in the US, is $15 per document. One service wanted to outsource and charge me $225 per document. I will do this part myself and save $630 [$225-$25=$210x3=$630].
Thanks! The $10k deposit is confusing. It can be used for a condo purhase, or for a long-term lease, but beyond that? Stick it in a Philippine bank? Can it be used to buy stock either on the Philippine stock market or otherwise?
I sent Mary Rose an email to see if I can get it done before I travel there in January of 2025. Or at the very least get as much done here while I can. I live in Southern Californian and there is a PNB branch right here in L.A. and a P.H. Consulate.

great info, 23 months to go before I can apply for the SRRV Mil Courtesy Visa. I've already been living in PI on a tourist visa/renewals since JUL 22, it won't break my heart to stop going to BI Offices. On another subject I did my first exit clearance last month and it was kind of a pain in the butt because they wanted me to start it only a week out from departure then return a couple days before leaving, wish BI (Makati office) allowed you to start the process earlier. When I went through immigration at the airport they did not even ask for the exit clearance, I guess its a hit or miss from the agents. But back to SRRV, I will definitely reach out as I get closer to being eligible for SRRV. Thanks for the info, keep up the good work.
@Chris-Yi-Yang it's at Ayala Circuit Mall 5th floor above movie theatre. I've been going there for over a year. If you are doing 2 month extensions with express service it's usually only a 15 minute wait or less
As far as cost, Express Service, no matter what type of transaction usually cost an additional 1000 Pesos (18 USD). To me its worth it since I do not have to make a return visit 3 working days later to pick up the visa, and I do not want to leave my passport while they process. I have never been able to do a 6 month Visa although I have heard it is possible at other BoI Offices. The price before adding the 1000 for Express Services vary, but they ranged from 1830-6628 Pesos for a 2 month extension. The 6628 Pesos transaction was my first ACR card, that they make you get on the 2nd extension. Sometimes the amount varies a little because of the fee coding, but it made since later after going through my exit clearance leaving the country; all the codes/fees are itemized. As far as the 29 day extension online the total cost was 3030 Pesos (Express Service is the only option for e-Service.) I do not know how much the 2 month extension is but I can follow up in about 6 weeks when I request my next 2 month extension. Note, I also saw the 6 month extension on the e-Service site....(@Chris-Yi-Yang

Hello Steve! GREAT information, thank you for your military service, and Philippine information service as well. I am an honorably discharged US military veteran (non-retired and enlisted) over 50. I believe I am geared for the ex-military SRRV, but have questions pertaining to the US background check. Is it true, that it must be absolutely clear? What if one had a few gross misdemeanors with zero felonies? I have read but not substantiated, that if you reside in the Philippines for over 6 months, the US background check is not required?? Any information you have on this is greatly appreciated, sir.
I'm here in the Philippines for about almost 3 month's now on a 1 year visa . I'm retired US Army military veteran and I'm thinking of staying here for good with my wife . I need help on to school me on how to get a bank that I can use here and not have to stay with my USAA bank . Is a pain in the butt to keep getting my debit card mailed out here from the NYC. And get the pics also right. I don’t know where this description is on my phone. And also I am going 68. I was told at a certain age you don’t need a background done. Thank for your answer. Can’t wait to hear from you. I am just a old dog my friend
Thanks for speedy reply. One more question: When you say Military Courtesy Service, does that apply to any US Military Person who served in the Armed Forces or just to retired servicemen? I served in the Vietnam War for 2 years honorable discharge. Thanks
Hey, Steve! Great video with loads of helpful information. Thank you! I have a question if you have time: Do you know how the BOI feels about US veterans who have an “Entry Level Separation” with less than two years’ service rather than a discharge? I was injured while I was still in training. Unfortunately, they don’t tell you before you enlist that - until you hit 180 days of service - you can be “separated” from the military without an official discharge, VA benefits, etc., for any reason … including something that’s their fault, like what happened to me. (I broke my back while on duty, in uniform, and NOT violating any rules or regulations.) If my injury had happened after 180 days, I’d have an Honorable Discharge and a disability pension. Since it didn’t, all I have is a DD-214 and a limp. Since I physically could not complete two years of service, do you think BOI has any kind of waiver? Any information, insight, or resources would be appreciated!
@@MrSteven5975 - Thanks for your reply. I was afraid that was the case. The Air Force used this loophole to deny me medical treatment, GI Bill, VA benefits, everything, I guess because they knew they’d be paying for the next 50-60 years. I never understood why they cared, since a) I earned it, and b) it was taxpayers’ money, not theirs. All that to say, I’m not surprised that there’s something else that excludes my situation. On a more positive note, your channel is a breath of fresh air compared to the many “American Expat in Southeast Asia” channels that are on UA-cam promoting easy s*x and cheap booze. (Or, is it the other way around? 😂) I’m a married, Christian man who’s simply exploring options for where I might go to be cared for *IF* I outlive my wife (which is unlikely). I’m too old to go out getting drunk every night and too tired to chase girls who are young enough to be my daughter. So those channels really don’t appeal to me. They often have a nugget of useful informtion here and there, which is the only reason to watch them. Your content, delivery, and demeanor - on the other hand - are all top notch. Thanks, again, for the reply!

Steve, I did not use your taxi service because I knew you were hurting. We took a bus to the PITX transfer station, then a 200 peso metered taxi, we used grab to go around with Thelma. It worked out fine. The buses are pretty comfortable and just remembered to insist on the meter when taking the short taxi ride.
For classic SRRV, is $1400 one time and $360 every year as long as you keep the visa? What happens to the $20.000 deposit do you get it back once the Visa is approved?
Wife is a dual citizen of PI and USA. I am service connected veteran and retired from the us government. Is there a visa available without paying the 1400 or is there one paying less since I am married to a dual citizen? Thanks
Does anyone know if my wife would be charged the military rate like I will be? She has a military id but did not serve in the service. Any input would be great as we are looking to make this move by Feb 2025. We need to get started on the process. Thanks for any input.
Hi I am over 50 I don’t have a bank account there but I do have a home in the philpines over 50 thousand dollars I am not getting a pension because I am not old enough to receive one , is it possible to still be able to get a srrv classic ?
Great video Steve, it’s so funny that Philippines always wants a physical for everything, which in my opinion is just a way to collect money :) Does Mary Rose assist in helping 13a visas?
Sorry to ask you this again but I lost the e mail for contacting Mary Ross. But now I'm ready I'm just waiting on the final sell on my house. I willing really appreciate.
because your a vet you can get a SRRV . Now when you say Veteran, dose that mean anyone that was in the Military . I was only in for 9 1/2 years, I did not have a 20 year retirement . I do have a state 25 year pension and SS .
So when I come I bring with me my police report from canada then it is your job ? Can my son wire me my money that I need to deposit to my bank account ? How much I should deposit if my pension is $1000 US ?
Do you have to be 50 to get this process started? Or can you start at 49 and how about the spouse of the veteran? What type of visa should I get as the spouse of the veteran??
Those $20,000 deposit, is what's making me rethink this type of visa, it's certainly a good chunk to have saved over there, and not be able to use it, until you return from where you are coming from!!
Steve, thank you for sharing your wisdom and insight. And for the willingness to help others. I have a question they need a $20,000 deposit but that’s just for one so for my wife and I it would be US$40,000? And then another $10,000 to get settled in? so I will be needing approximately $ 50,000 to get started before I start my normal monthly budgeting?
Not when you see that Condo prices are total insanely high for the quality you get. Thanks to this visa and crazy chinese money launderer they can overprice 200%
It definitely sounds like SRRV is a good deal for US veterans. I’m not so sure it’s that good deal for someone that isn’t a veteran. I used to work on military projects for a US contractor, but not as an enlisted man.

Two questions please. 6 yrs U. S. Navy but NOT a Navy Retiree. Honorable discharge. Do I qualify? Second question. OUI conviction from 25 years ago. Problem to get a SRRV visa? Thanks
Steve, thank you so much for Sharing your wisdom and insight. And for your willingness to help others. I have a question. If it’s 20,000 for myself it would be another US$20,000 for my wife that will be US$40,000? I believe I am geared for the ex-military SRRV, but have questions pertaining to the US background check. Is it true, that it must be absolutely clear? What if one had a few gross misdemeanors with zero felonies? I have read but not substantiated, that if you reside in the Philippines for over 6 months, the US background check is not required?? Any information you have on this is greatly appreciated, sir.
Contact Mary Rose for the answer: mariarose.baranda@gmail.com
I'm here in the Philippines for about almost 3 month's now on a 1 year visa . I'm retired US Army military veteran and I'm thinking of staying here for good with my wife . I need help on to school me on how to get a bank that I can use here and not have to stay with my USAA bank . Is a pain in the butt to keep getting my debit card mailed out here from the NYC. I have to exit the Philippines and then return back here and try to do it again. Exit and entry to the country and live here .
Steve if I was going to live some where else. Like outside of Cebu. Would I need to stay in Manila. So Mary Rose could help me and you. Are how would that work. I so confused about all this. I been told so much. And it would be awhile before I could head that way. I take care of my mom. She is 98 going on 99 soon. And got dementia. So I can get a police background done there.

Thanks
Any serviceman
(I broke my back while on duty, in uniform, and NOT violating any rules or regulations.)
If my injury had happened after 180 days, I’d have an Honorable Discharge and a disability pension. Since it didn’t, all I have is a DD-214 and a limp. Since I physically could not complete two years of service, do you think BOI has any kind of waiver?
Any information, insight, or resources would be appreciated!
No waivers unfortunately
I’m a married, Christian man who’s simply exploring options for where I might go to be cared for *IF* I outlive my wife (which is unlikely).
Hello Steve
I hope you and the family are well, I have paid £100,000 for our new built house in Pangasinan.
The question is can I use that for my deposit?
Cheers.
No
Thanks a bunch..i was quoted legal firm manila 100usa just for a link up on line.

Im still working in ireland and actually back Philippines in 3weeks.
I plan to retire next year.
I certainly like to meet up and bring on board.Mary loo. Kind regards rob

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CARING
Money and DD214, what else do I need to bring to Philippines?
Steve, I did not use your taxi service because I knew you were hurting. We took a bus to the PITX transfer station, then a 200 peso metered taxi, we used grab to go around with Thelma. It worked out fine. The buses are pretty comfortable and just remembered to insist on the meter when taking the short taxi ride.
For classic SRRV, is $1400 one time and $360 every year as long as you keep the visa? What happens to the $20.000 deposit do you get it back once the Visa is approved?
You get it back when you die or leave
Wife is a dual citizen of PI and USA. I am service connected veteran and retired from the us government. Is there a visa available without paying the 1400 or is there one paying less since I am married to a dual citizen? Thanks
SRRV is excellent
How do you use your dd214 for veteran?
Does anyone know if my wife would be charged the military rate like I will be? She has a military id but did not serve in the service. Any input would be great as we are looking to make this move by Feb 2025. We need to get started on the process. Thanks for any input.
You put your wife on yours and you pay a small fee. Talk to Mary Rose
Is it easier to apply for the extended courtesy SRRV while in the Philippines? If so, what are the benefits?
$10 per year
Yeah but what if you have a breaking and entering charge from 32 years ago can you still get an srrv
Unlikely but possible
Hi I am over 50 I don’t have a bank account there but I do have a home in the philpines over 50 thousand dollars I am not getting a pension because I am not old enough to receive one , is it possible to still be able to get a srrv classic ?
If you put up $20,000 you can. But it’s gotta be cash
Thanks for the info-very informative
Glad it was helpful!
sounds like a good idea. I live in Davao......is there a place here that I can go?

Great video Steve, it’s so funny that Philippines always wants a physical for everything, which in my opinion is just a way to collect money :)

Good advice thank you
because your a vet you can get a SRRV . Now when you say Veteran, dose that mean anyone that was in the Military . I was only in for 9 1/2 years, I did not have a 20 year retirement . I do have a state 25 year pension and SS .
You can get it
Thank you for your reply sir, I appreciate it,@@MrSteven5975
I used JRC and wish i had known this before i paid all this money
Just had my Visa Deposit of $1,500 plus fees transferred from my bank in the states to PNB here in Manila
License info: ❤
I went to LTO in Alamanza and they told me i have to go the main LTO office in Quezon City
Correct
I saw that they might reduce the SSRV retirement age to below 50 any truth to it. I am a couple years short but want to get one. Retired military
I’m hearing they might consider it with more rules.
So when I come I bring with me my police report from canada then it is your job ?
Can my son wire me my money that I need to deposit to my bank account ?
How much I should deposit if my pension is $1000 US ?

Steven I'm 47 and get Army retirement and SSI Disability. Will I qualify because its saying age 50.
Yes but you lose SSI
I will lose my social security disability if I become a dual citizen in the Philippines but travel back and forward to the United States?

Those $20,000 deposit, is what's making me rethink this type of visa, it's certainly a good chunk to have saved over there, and not be able to use it, until you return from where you are coming from!!
It's not 20k for a Vet.
Worked out for you.?
$20k isn't much at all. It's there for your own good and to show immigration you can support yourself.
Believe the 20k can be invested in house and used
Steve, thank you for sharing your wisdom and insight. And for the willingness to help others. I have a question they need a $20,000 deposit but that’s just for one so for my wife and I it would be US$40,000? And then another $10,000 to get settled in? so I will be needing approximately $ 50,000 to get started before I start my normal monthly budgeting?
They have to keep your physical passport not a copy of it?
They paste the visa into your passport. Some countries are faster than others.

I have a question. My name on the DD214 is a shorter version of what is on my Birth Certificate. Will that be a problem?
Possibly
Being able to use the $10k Deposit towards a Condo seems like a good deal.
Great to see more dedicate expat social work. I've run an offshore software team in Manila for 20 years so I know TOO MUCH. Like most guys we swap advice with the newbies we meet at the super market or the mall or when I walk by the bar (where I live there is a bar halfway to the supermarket -- I say, "Hi" but not my thing). I know where you live but you should give out your city :-)
I have to have a bank account there for the srrv?
