Nice review. I’ve owned a 900 for almost 9 months now. I gotta tell you… this bike has the BEST sounding stock exhaust of any bike anywhere on the market today. It’s unbelievable this thing. There is absolutely no way I will “upgrade” those pipes! 👍🏾🤘🏾
Thanks -good review! I've owned the 900 for the best part of a year. I traded in my KTM SDR 1290 because while the performance and comfort were epic, the servicing bills were eye watering. The Triumph handles beautifully and makes the most gorgeous sound. It's worth upgrading the pipes, saddle, rear suspension and sticking on a fly screen. While the KTM demanded to be thrashed, the 900 gives you all the pleasure at low RPM and demands that you relax and enjoy your journey. If you're tall or spend significant time on motorways, it's not a great choice but if you have managed to get beyond the need for face melting performance, it's a really Zen bike to ride. While I've not ridden the 1200, I have owned a couple of Speed Triples, a Street Triple and a couple of Sprint STs; obviously the 900's performance is not comparable but there's something quite intangibly pleasing about owning a bike that's designed to get you from A to B with a smile on your face rather than a riding a muscly behemoth.
The 900 is just perfect for me, the 1200 is more performance and better suspension components, but the 900 for me is more versatile, I can also go a bit of light offroad with a bash plate fitted and pirelli STR'S tires, the 18inch front makes it a bit easier in these situations, plus it's lighter.
I am 189 cm tall, with a bench seat where you can move backwards and adjustable, lower footpegs from Tec it fits perfect! I just made a 3 weeks and 7.500 km holiday trip through germany, france, spain and portugal. Everyday 7-10 hours in the saddle. No problems, perfect long distance bike for me. :-)
I have had this Bonneville 900 since January 2024, I did not know this Triumph brand before, I had only heard good things about it, but I have owned this motorcycle, I am like a kid who uses a nice toy , I owned BMW Ducati before, there are only positives, at the start lesson of the exhaust a marvel, I have no complaints about your shock absorbers, the saddle and soft enough to do many kilometers, with my 1.72 m, it's perfect, my feet, touching the ground, which is good, it's really finished. the finish is perfect for me I don't find it heavy it's like riding a bike it doesn't consume much. I noticed I don't even do 4 liters per 100, the only thing I would like to improve is the indicators. They don't come back automatically and the problem is that I forget to put it back. I advise all motorcyclists to give it a try.
One thing to note which other commenters have not done yet is that the 1200 engine is really really hot more than the 900 and especially will give you hot air on your legs on stoplights and if you’re driving at slower speeds or on even a decently hot weather day
Definitely, the 1200 is way hotter and it’s not a bike you can ride without boots and long pants. Not that you should…but everyone makes their own choice 😂
I just got a Speed Twin 900 as my 1st motorcycles 🏍️. It is absolutely awesome, I am 45 years old, 5ft 7inches. The 900 is a far better bike 🏍️ than 1200 This motorcycle has - Great 👍🏽 Ergonomics to sit and drive - High Torque which makes it FUN to drive - Easy to handle - Superb Sound better than the 1200 - Best Looking
1200 has best engine, fantastic handling, the best sound and way better looking. The 900 looks like it is a child’s toy with that plastic looking front wheel with one disc. One clock? You need the twin clocks of the 1200. Everything says 1200……I guess 900 is better than nothing if you can’t afford or handle the 1200 and you are stuck in the city. Thankfully I have glorious mountains and countryside. Those mirrors! Get bar ends
This is the exact context / discussion I was missing , regarding a direct comparison between the 900 and 1200. Thank you so much! Thank you for highlighting the differences in the type of rider one may be when considering both options - I’m definitely much more of a “slow down and take in the sights” kind of rider these days. Plus, you made me think about WHY I’m even considering buying another bike and why I’ve landed originally on the speed twin in the first place - what I ride now and what I’ve ridden in previous years have really lacked that LOW end torque and GRUNT from the engine, as well as a smoother/easier clutch and responsive throttle. I just want to be chill, take b roads and explore in comfort and style 😂 After weeks of researching, and after trying out both bikes , I know I’m picking up the 900, even though my local dealer has a 2023 1200 for the exact same price, in a color I absolutely hate. Thanks for this, and subbed!
I totally agree, I have ridden the thruxton 1200 and speed 1200. I think the 900 is actually a far nicer engine. Coming from some who rides a street triple rs
both are great; having dual screens is a plus. The 1200 should have been 1" higher for 6' tall you have to have risers and more leg room. But I sure don't need the extra power, over the 900. Seats for pillion could have been improved to be like the Z900rs. the ST could/should have a clock on main display; as there is room for it.

Thanks buddy, appreciate your comment! The 900 is definitely a chill ride!
The 1200 gives you a smile on your face as well. 🙂

A narrow view. Keep fooling your self.
@@ianjames3078The 1200 engine is so hot, it terrible at stop lights 🚦 and even if the weather is NOT cold 🥶

I can’t decide which one haha I am afraid if I get the 900 I want to 1200 and vice versa.
Thanks for the gleaming feedback buddy, appreciate your comment and glad we helped you with your decision!
Watching from Australia and thanks for showing us around. Would love to ride and tour there one day!!
I have ridden both, and l prefer the 900!

Hi are you guys able to do a Helmet series? would be cool if we can get info on some helmets!
Nice review of the bike! But is the bike too hot to ride in Singapore’s weather?
Honestly no, it gets warm but doesn’t feel hot, especially when wearing my long pants. -Jake
Next video review triumph tiger 800/900
Hi bros! have you guys reviewed the Honda CL500?
6:18 - Bro.. you forgot to take your camera :p
JK.. Great review :). Trying to figure if this bike will hold on US free ways. Still undecided.
always liked your choice of gloves, what is the brand of this pair?
Thanks buddy! These are the Klim Rambler gloves, consider getting them from our store at www.tri333ple.com to support the channel!
Need to know if this model has the terrible service light warning that can only be reset by the dealer for $59. That would be a deal breaker.
If only the Singapore Govt let their people modify the exhaust, that would be great! Thanks for the review
Anyone know which backpack Jake is using?
I’m using a wandrd prvke backpack! -Jake
1200 no doubt
speed triple
Short answer: 1200.
Do a review on royal enfield pls
We have a couple of videos on royal enfields, and I took the continental 650GT out for a spin in the previous video! Hope this helps! -Jake
NOT MADE FOR TALL PEOPLE😢
UNFORTUNATELY NOT 🥲
900 needs 6 speed though
first!
